Join GG and others directly or via affiliate?

Hello, I would be grateful for any advice on the best way to open an online poker account, especially with GG. Do sites pay ongoing commission to affiliates and therefore treat direct sign up customers better because their profit margin is higĥer, or are you better off signing up with an affiliate that offers some sort of rakeback/rake race programme?
