iPoker account hacked; any advice? iPoker account hacked; any advice?

Hi guys,

This morning I woke up only to find out that I couldn't access my Titan Poker account (on the iPoker network). I got this notification that it was 'Temporarily Closed for Security Reasons', and that I should contact support.

When I opened my inbox shortly after, I found this one:

Hello, XXXX! This is Natasja from the VIP Team.

Your account has been involved in irregular betting patterns at the pokertables when playing with the player: mogilew

Please reply with any explanation you may have, and we must also ask you foryour relationship, if any, to the above player.

We view this kind of activity as possible money laundering, identity theft ormoving of fraudulent funds, and any account found to be collusive is suspendedpending a full investigation, with no cash outs authorized until deposits havebeen verified.

This process can take some time. At present we are checking accounts &deposits for any fraudulent activity.

We must warn you that a failure or inability to supply these details mayresult in your account being permanently closed with funds being used tooffset any fraudulent deposits made by your opponents.

Your poker account will remain frozen until a reply is forthcoming.

Regards,

Natasja XXXX

So I mailed them back explaining how I never played that account and wasn't aware of its existence etc, and that I'm 100% positive my account was hacked.

Gonna call them tomorrow morning as soon as I can get my hands on a phone which allows international calls.

Now I was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar spot before, and if so, if he/she could provide me with some piece of advice on the matter. Something like "I wish I did X right after that happened to me, oh, if only I did X. I would've been less screwed if I had done X."

Also, if anyone has some information regarding player 'mogilew' on the iPoker network, please elaborate. I'm gonna enjoy having his sister sexually violated by big black men and feeding his 3 inch penis to my neighbours' dog.

I'm sorry if this comes off as a non-interesting lame post, which I have to admit it is, but I hope you understand that I'm pretty concerned about my money, and therefore welcome all suggestions. I'm just looking for any piece of advice from people that experienced the same thing or some smart thoughts that might not have come to my mind yet.

Thanks.

Jay

You'd probably have better luck if you posted this in the Zoo (Internet Gambling)...although not sure how much you'll get anyway.

Good question, I had absolutely no clue which forum would be best for this so I just elected this one. Sorry if it's inappropriate, if so, mods please move.

you will get better help from the sites support than 2+2 i think

they will not only have ip logs, but access to the players personal info

dont apologize dude. Just cause there is alot of ignorant people on here doesnt mean you have to be weary of what to say. Say it, if they dont like it fk em.
As for that player I have no idea. I have only played on ipoker for a few months and it was all plo8 games.
I would suggest that you get the security department to look into it and deal with. They can track his IP address from when he logged into your account. Should be simple

If you have all of your hand histories and they show that you have never played against mogilew, than you need to find out the dates and times their records show you were playing against this player. Get your own hand histories that are closest to the dates and times and have them check the IP's.

I donīt understand what you are saying here. You never played the account, you didnīt know its existence and then you say that YOUR account was hacked?

Anyway: did you have money on the account that got stolen? If so, it appears to be a good thing that they blocked your account. Unless, of course, what they accuse you of is true and in that case you are in deep trouble (and deserve to be so).

No, you misunderstood me there. I was trying to say that I never played against the mogilew account which is the one the vilains appearantly shipped my money to.

Yes, I had money on this account. A big chunk of my BR. I only play on iPoker and Party.

Obviously I'm not in on this. Come on. If for some weird reason I'd want to transfer my cash to someone else's account, I think I'd be hitting the 'interaccount transfer' button instead of chip dumping in the most obvious way, which I assume is what the monkeys did.

Yeah the IP check will be a real help I think. I always play from my appartment, with the same IP. I already mentioned that in my first response to them. Thanks for bringing it up though.

total obvious solution: let them check the ip the fraud was done with, then send them your passport. the ip can be tracked down to country and even more detail area of location. if for example you are canadian (what they can see on your passport or you just log in and let them check your ip) and the fraud in your account was done from an, e.g., russian ip location, they should accept that you didnt fly to moscow just to chip dump your own account to someone else's xD

have fun and dont worry.
