I can't believe this ridiculous thread is still going. No one is going to have any sympathy for you man. Just send in the proper documentation and get your money. If you choose not to follow their rules, fine. But stop posting.

The problem is, passports don't have addresses, at least not here in North America. So without his picture and passport number, there isn't much unique identifying information beyond his name and birthdate.

Hi

If you would use the email I have sent you in a PM before you would be communication with me. However, you seem to not want to do that, the reason I do not know.

You can reach me on pokermanager@intertops.eu

Best regards,

The Intertops Poker Team

Sincerely,

This was your email response to my resending info. I think a lot of the miscommunication is because I had to deal with multiple people. Hopefully I can just deal with Cynthia and the Intertops rep from now on. Then I only have to deal with two people and they both know the situation.

Again I sent the ID clear as can be. With the photo and # blocked.

The letterhead says it expires in November 23, 2011. Thats under 3 months.

THis is what I mean. I get different criteria everytime I talk to them. And talk to someone new almost everytime. This is where most of the problems are coming from.

Most respectfully to Mr. Intertops and 2+2. Mr Intertops you can't come hear and say I didn't comply then leave and not respond. To the community, I told you. They "need" the photo and # and this is why they will not send. So back to square one I guess????????

You are right. Just took notice to that. Ok, I will send DL without pic and #. Although its old. Wonder if this will help?

There are 2 camps here. The one's that don't care about privacy and what happens to their personal info.

The other camp does care.

I respect your ability to choose what you want to do with yours. Please respect my right to do what I want to do with mine.

Thanks for taking the time out to tell us which camp your in.

Just because we don't feel the same way about this issue as you do doesn't mean we don't care what happens to our personal info.

Perhaps they would accept a scan of that flyer (unedited) as proof of address, so you don't have to upload a utility bill?

Well, it means either you don't care, or you trust that it is fully secure at Intertops, and every step of the internet between you and Intertops

Question for you, do you play online? If so, don't you have to have some kind of trust in that site?

I don't see why this is even still an issue. If a company asked for ID and proof of residence, they want an unedited copy of your documents. Black-out IDs and typing your address on a piece of paper doesn't come close to that.

Risk versus reward...I give away personal info for financial gain via online poker

Ask the people who lost money on UB, FTP etc. how much trust they had in the site?

We all know what the company wants. The issue is whether it is right for the company to refuse the player access to his money unless their demands are met.

Ah, the world of absolutes - so easy to live in.

But how about...or it means that you understand there are some risks, but you are willing to take them.

When you hand a waiter your credit card and let him take it away, does that mean you don't care about your personal info? How about when you buy something online? When you check into a hotel? Buy airline tickets?

There are a lot of people we end up trusting with all sorts of personal information. Doing this doesn't mean we don't care. It can mean we understand the risks, but agree to take them anyway.

They had a lot of trust and I'm sure they sent in verification when asked to. You didn't answer my original question.

Not yet, "just" theft. But who knows? Court is still out on that. But just think, if they can screw over how many people, myself included. What would stop them from doing anything to anyone? I'm just glad none of them had anything more then a name, addy, email, age. No photos, no numbers, no banking statements. At least from me.

Perhaps I misspoke. Some do trust online pokerz with personal info. Some do not. For me it's not really even Intertops, it's all the in-betweens that I am really worried about. ie trashman, disgruntled worker, hacker hitting the site or my email.

Re: Intertops cashout issue?

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...tails-1149678/

Guess I'm not the only one getting f'ed with by site "security" In the link Titan is asking for transaction statements and things they don;t need in order to "verify" a customer. Luckily for this poster he went through all the nonsense, before he redeposited. Titan certainly would let him deposit though They would just need to "verify" for a cashout. Hmmmm seen this before?

Which brings up the question. What do these sites really do with the info? How do they "verify" the info the customer provides? Why do they need gov't #'s or transaction details, to verify?????

These questions were never answered. By Intertops, titan or anyone.

Just because the site rep's speak nicely doesn't mean they are responding, when they don't actually answer the question.

You and Kittens seem to be the only people who find it strange that sites ID people who withdraw instead of people who deposit.

Gee, I can't imagine why they don't tell you exactly how their security department verifies IDs. It's not as if that would make it infinitely easier for actual scammers to get around the security checks or anything.

Only mildly related, have you ever written a check in a store before?

I don't find it strange at all. It is quite common. Many people on this thread seem to have the attitude "everyone does it so it's OK", or "the man said to do it so just do it, don't question it". This is the same attitude that's led to the disgrace that goes under the name of airport "security" in the US , among other things.

Funny example.. the store checks your security before accepting money from you. The opposite of the poker site.

It's far from just me and kittens. And it's not strange at all. It's sneaky or shady. It's a lack of full disclosure. And I have and will show ID, in full, in person. I have shown them multiple forms of ID online. There is no reason why they need to database my photo and gov't #, to issue me a check that I have a receipt for!! I have offered DL PP, receipt, their mailer, notary, lawyer statement, CC letterheads. If I could think of something else I would offer it. They refused. They only want Photo, gov't #. Why is this so valuable to them?? I know it is valuable to me.

I think you and Intertops are taking yourselves way to seriously. (SARCASM AHEAD)Intertops security team is on the case, we can all sleep safe at night now. They are keeping customers safe from their own money. Thank god!!! Someone cancel WW3 and the war on terryism. Were getting Otatop, and Intertops security on it. They are keeping the world safe, one verification at a time:/ ....... I wonder if they have theme music? If not, they should!!

We are talking about pokerz and a few hundo here. I never did a player transfer or anything even suspicious. And I am treated, as though, I should be guilty of something???????What? Why? I have proof what I said was true. Where's your or their proof, I did something wrong??

My reasoning for asking how they verify it, was twofold. Firstly can they even verify??If never given the info in the first place. ie photo, government #.
Secondly, if they can verify it. What database are they accessing? Is it gov't or a private database? Which would then bring up all sorts of questions. But they will not answer!!Guess it's against national security to tell me. LOL Heard that someplace before.

Please enlighten us Mr. Columbo Otatop. How would it be easier to scam? If I knew how and if they can actually verify info, they shouldn't have in the first place??? How does me knowing what they are doing with my info, make it easier to scam them??

I think, it makes it more easy and more likely. For them to scam, sell, database, all of our info. By not telling us what or how they verify. Or what they do with the info? It makes us less secure to give that info to who knows, to do whatever with.

Unless you believe it should be top secret.LOL And that I shouldn't know what they do with MY info.LOL And should trust the ones that will not comment. sigh......
