Hi,
I've consulted with the leader of our Network Operations team. He has confirmed that the PokerStars client still uses a similar amount of data.
Conceptually, if you are playing Zoom poker, you might see
slightly more data use (since you are playing more hands) but it should all remain in the same order of magnitude. Similarly, if you keep Multi-Table Tournament lobbies visible and updating on your screen, you might see a further
small increase, but certainly not in the order of gigabytes per day.
It is very unlikely that your PokerStars client would be using 3gb of data a day: it is probably something/someone else using that amount of data. That said, if, for some reason, you think that this is the case in your situation, please email
support@pokerstars.com so that my colleagues in the Technical Support Team can work through your unique and individual case.
Sincerely,
Michael J
PokerStars Communications Team
P.S. I'm glad knircky likes my sense of humour. I knew I would find someone, somewhere, who did. It only took me 32 years.
