Apologies in advance if this is the wrong subforum.

(Tl;dr: How long should I expect identity verification to take? It's been 3 and a half days already)

Roughly a day after my first 5 figure score in a tournament, I received a randomly chosen security check at Monday 11 PM GMT 02/02/2015.

They asked for a front and reverse scan of a valid government issued identity document and a scan of a recent utility bill.

I sent them a reply with a picture of the front and back of my ID ( the email stated they accept digital pictures if I don't have a scanner ) and a PDF of one of my bills ( as I did not have a physical copy of that document ) at around 11:30 PM and received a mail saying it will be directed to a specialist at 1 AM.. I had already went to bed and expected this to be handled quickly.

The next night I still had no news so I sent them an email asking whether I'd be contacted if everything turns out okay so I wouldn't spend forever waiting for an email I wasn't going to receive, and got a response about 18 hours later, verifying that my original email has been forwarded to the relevant department. While they can't provide me with a timeframe, I should rest assured that I'll be contacted as soon as my email reaches the front of the queue.

This was 2 days ago and there's still no news.. I can't play during this time so it's getting in the way of volume goals, and there's currently more money than I even have in my bank account stuck in limbo for 4 days now which, while I know it shouldn't, is making me rather paranoid.

How long should I expect to wait?

i remember the days i would withdraw funds from poker stars and have it in my account the same day.

I know they say allow so and so etc but it always came in same day so i even went out relying on the money been there. ( i used to only withdraw cash from poker account when needed and lived primarily from online poker)

sigh these days they probably want to hold onto the funds for as long as they can get away with so they can get that extra annual 1% interest on all funds etc those days are interest days after all.

remember Amaya customer pinch and it doesnt matter about losing the goodwill that used to exist.

Sad times.

I doubt stars is desperate enough that they're holding funds longer than neccesary purely for the interest rates lol..

What are you going to do with your score?

Withdraw everything/most of it? Or keep a lot on the site and play more tourneys?

I'm not sure why it's relevant but planning to withdraw a fair amount, probably not over half, really depends on what I'm gonna do to celebrate .
After that probably withdraw smaller amounts biweekly/monthly for some amount of time.

Has anyone here had this take 5 days or more? I guess I shouldn't expect to be able to play on sunday..

Yeah this is really just a shameless bump but I'd like to know other peoples experiences with these security checks.

well maybe maybe not. However it can really add up. the interest rates at moment tend to be around 2% in banks in my country.

now if we assume his win is exactly $10000 then in a year that is $200.

ok but for each day site has money that 200/365 which is 0.5479 or rounded 55 cents a day.

sure that may seem like not much at all but with millions of transactions back and forth on site a whole load of those can start to add up.

however it would be impossible to know without actually seeing figures so was just speculation really.

glad he got his money.

fwiw, I've never waited more than 24hours for a withdrawal to make it to my bank, unless I withdraw on a sunday.

Hey sorry to bother you.
I was wondering how long it took you in total to get your account unlocked by pokerstars, I've recently been waiting to get mine unblocked too.
Its been 6 days now, and they haven't gotten back to me at all yet.
