I'm looking for a way to move my home poker game to the internet during the pandemic. I want to avoid the apps like pppoker and pokerbros. Is there a company / website that can help me facilitate this? I'd like it to be accessible via web browser. I would also like to it to rake the games like the apps do.

Any suggestions or advice are appreciated...

Pokerstars homegames if you're outside the US, or maybe in a legal state where Pokerstars operates.

So use the right mediums to take your game online.. there is no free way around it. Go on pokerbros and pay up the dues to make the take.

According to the Pokerstars software improvement thread, homegames hasn't been working right for about a week now, if that was ever a valid option for you.

Hi, I set up a home game using software from PokerStars.bet. However, two players are in NJ and getting redirected to the PokerStars NJ site. They can’t join my home game using software downloaded from the PokerStars NJ site. Any ideas?

users with NJ IP addresses get automatically redirected to the .NJ site

email pokerstars and ask them for a direct download link to the .net client

or download the exe file for the .net client and send it to your friends.

or have your friends use a proxy that doesnt have a NJ or PA IP to download the play money client

Our home poker game has been hosted by a local bar for the last 10 years and the bar is shut down during this virus... We would like to continue playing but no host for game. Anybody know of an app or software we can purchase to set up our game and play from home? Won't be the same as there is a lot talk going on. We play mostly O8 and variations of 4 card split games, table stakes, 1,2 blinds..Thanks, appreciate response

Can you give more information on using pokerstars home game in US, outside of NJ, Nevada and Delaware.
Is this a way to continue our home games without risk?
thanks

Please just post all options in this topic so we can compare them. I am also looking for an option where we can play NL hold'em and PLO with straddles and the possibility to show one or more hole cards. Game among friends so take turned of would be best.

Risk= transmitting covid by being together in the game.

PokerStars Home Games seems to be an option if you use play money. Thought it seems to make you purchase play chips which is dumb. I'd like to be able to just set up a free tournament among friends. Not sure why I need their play chips for a "buy in".

Ah of course, thanks. Misread as a question about risk of one site vs. another.

Anyone find a good app for this? Don't think pokerstars works for me so trying to see if there are alternatives. Though Pokermaster would be good but its not around anymore it seems..

So Covid19 has forced us into seclusion and I am trying to get a home game together with various friends. We are looking to play a $.50/1 cash game with $100 min buy-in, unlimited rebuys. We are trying to do this tomorrow.

I am having trouble finding a site that we could use. I'm also struggling to conceptualize how we settle up afterwards. We are in the US and are not looking for a traditional online poker room, but rather a place that we can play with play money that will represent real money. We can then venmo each other after the fact.

Anybody have any ideas on the best site to use for this and how we could structure the game so that it is easy to determine who owes what at the end?

Thanks so much for any help and be safe!

Good night, maybe I'm slow, but Pokerbros seems awful convoluted. Don't mind paying a few bucks to take the home game virtual, but my crew is not going to be able to figure this out...Any easier options out there that people have found for U.S. players?

It’s probably best to check out the info in this thread :

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...-19-a-1238038/

If you’re still not sure if you’ve found the best solution, there are multiple unofficial threads within this forum that may address your needs. Most importantly, do as much due diligence on the person(s) you are trusting your money too, if there is no central cashier. Putting together a couple dozen posts and soliciting via pm is a good way to get banned or worse, losing your deposit.

Gotta stay safe in these tumultuous times - on and off the felt.

As like the OP I just want to play a private game with a single table. So far I've come across PokerBros, PPPoker, Pokerrrr2 and Pokernow (Limit only?)

PokerBros and PPPoker seem overly complex and it seems like it can get costly. Can someone break down how the payments work? Like if I were to host a private game how much would it cost? FWIW I am not looking to generate rake or anything, just play a game with some buddies.

Thanks

There's probably not many who play PokerStars play money games, regularly read this thread and know the answer to your question. I think emailing the site is your best bet.

Hi,

I have a group of friends who want to play real money tournament poker against each other in lockdown. Which is the best app to download that will allow us to do this please?

Pokerstars doesn't seem to be any good for creating a tournament for friends as far as I can see?

Cheers
