I've talked to the merge tournament management to do this; it is a constant work in progress as some tournaments have been set up a few years ago.

If you have an existing account you'll be fine, but if you didn't have RB on there then it is unlikely that you can get it now because the policy has continually been getting stricter.

You can go off RB, but please wait on it; the VIP programming is still in process as there is an issue where not every level can do the exchanges yet, just the new exchange levels; it is a top priority, but once it is sorted I can get you switched.

In terms of the total customer experience, I have to agree with you on this. The major reason for this has been the unfortunate constant travel and also Dan, our marketing manager, tends to travel with me about 75% of the time as well. The transition to the Asia Pacific market has been as if we were starting a new company all over again and so things have tampered off, apologies for that.

February will see new weekly promotions aimed at the mid-stake players as well as a number of design changes. Also we have joined in the 25k freeroll promotion with Merge, so the details of that will be up by the end of the week. And we are also supporting the Poker Maximus tournament series. There is a lot of progress on the software side but I need to confirm the exact time lines and details.

By Feb 12, I'll be finished my travels and we have just hired another senior marketing staff and her first duty will be the executive support and I'll be introducing her for mid-Feb. But February is actually our 1st complete year, and I will start having comprehensive updates from then on. We've signed on another Aussie Pro, Aaron Benton and we will be launching 2 poker internet TV show productions for March and September, so it has been a lot of set up, but that is no excuse for the tapering off of communication and I'm getting very much on it.

Hey yes, I'm here in Australia and been living with Terrence, Grant and Aaron our pros and amazingly enough we had the biggest representation of pros at the Aussie Millions (it use to be sponsored by FTP), of course there were a lot of big names, but we had 5 of our pros join in most of the events. Feb 23rd will be our first year anniversary. I'm actually getting on a plane on Monday for a bit more travel, but I should be back in one location by the 12th.

There has been a lot of ground work set up for this coming year and this has stretched my existing staff a bit thin, but again, I hope to get back into a routine as soon as possible as we've staffed up considerably for our regional marketing operations and I can get back to banging out new promotions for our extremely loyal and valued players and really bring out what being a boutique means. I would think that nearly all the network sites have opted into this.

You just mentioned design changes which got me thinking about a kinda minor thing. On some of the other skins like Carbon, they have a different felt colors for ring and tournament, it is very helpful multi-tabling a mix. If you can set that up in your design back end it would be great.

I'm looking for the 100 seats to 100K freeroll and can't find it. I've looked under every type of tournament and am still not having success. I looked at the promotions and it says I have enough points and that I'm eligible to qualify. Is anyone else here registered?

It is a multiple table tournament, not a sit and go, so look under that section. A problem many have had is having filters on, make sure your filters aren't hiding it. It is a priority tournament so it should be at or near the top. Also try clicking/sorting the players since there are 1,400+ people in it, that should bring it to top too.

Dave, dont think you fully opted into the 25k as the qualifiers are not in the lobby. I just started up Carbon and i can see all of the qualifiers. I also think that you aren't fully opted into the sng leaderboard, because it always shows my rank as >1000

Quick question is Hero poker going to increase the $5plo games to more than 3 continuously it is rather hard to register with 11-13k people on the site...just wonder if u can expand the number of Hero $5 tables that are played at the same time..

First of all the 13k people is all of merge, only a handful of those are playing on hero

For the omaha freerolls its best to keep the table open and watch for when it finishes so you can register fast for the next one.

It has nothing to do with Hero since they use the Merge cashier. The last payouts in keeping track are those who requested before or on December 7. Anyone requesting a cashout since December 8 is still pending. Hopefully approvals will come through this week.

Anyone have an issue with the exchanging VIP points to cash page in the player admin? Once I reached level 100 centurion, the option to exchange points to cash has disappeared. Any ideas?

Dave said in an earlier post that the VIP system needs adjusting as certain levels do not have the ability to exchange points to cash. I believe he said this will be fixed soon.

I can confirm that both of these promotions are now working correctly.

First off apologies for the inconsistency of my updates for the last couple of months. Essentially we went into a relaunch mode for the Asia Pacific and between travel, signing a new pro and a number of regional media contracts and finally the Aussie Millions, it has just wreaked any normal work routine I usually have. But the Aussie Millions is now completed and I'm free to simply work.

I've given things a lot of thought over the last couple of months and from feedback from the players we've launched a new set of promotions for our regular players: 'Golden Apples'.

GOLDEN APPLES
The name is a play on the mythical golden apples that the Norse Gods ate to keep young and healthy and with the growth of our site, we have a lot of regular players who have chosen to play and deposit at Hero. So as we are 'growing up' with our players, the focus of the 'Golden Apples' promotions are to support deposited and more mid-stake players. As a lot of you have put your trust in Hero and have deposited, so besides the initial deposit freeroll, you now have your very own $5 NLH sitngo!

Also both MTT Hero and the TRIUMVIRATE have been renamed to 'Asia Pacific' in front, but for both North American and Asia Pacific time zone MTT Hero and Triumvirate are open to all of the above countries.

A playthrough requirement has been put on all freeroll winnings. You will be able to play with your freeroll money right away, but in order to withdraw the money, you will need to gain 20 VIP points for every $1. Unfortunately there are some players who are just taking advantage of the promotion and not bothering to play other games at all. If you do well and can build up a bank roll, then great or if you're learning, but there are a few players who clearly are just trying to take advantage and we'd rather this money be played with or the spots taken by more legitimate players.


VIP SYSTEM REVISIONS

Unfortunately there will need to be some further revisions as per some discussion with the network. So, how it was supposed to work was that each level of the 300 would allow you to exchange 3 times per month, but that isn't the case and due to some other issues, we've resolved by next week to simply increase the amount you can exchange at one time per exchange rate.
So instead of being able to exchange a little bit at each level, you will be able to change a lot more at the different exchange rates.
So instead of 250 levels of exchanges (you can't exchange until 50) you'll have about 28 levels instead.

Clear as mud? I really apologize for this, but I had to make this concession for the greater good of the network which will be great for all of us in the near future (don't read too much into that this statement though)


AUSSIEPOKERRADIO.NET / TWOPLUSTWO OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS

Well, this has been a bit difficult to maintain a number of different forums and I am going to revisit this strategy, but I will get everyone an update on this sooner than later. But I've reverted back to old habits and am posting my CEO update here first.

On Feb 23rd, it will be the first year since our launch at Hero, so while it feels like a lifetime due to the roller coaster year of 2011, we are still trying to get into a good system while expanding our market reach. So things like the VIP store items were sourced and designed, thanks to Dan, but unfortunately thanks to me, they haven't been put into production.

This was an executive decision on my part, simply because we hadn't nailed down the final list of markets we were going to focus on and the difficult thing about the VIP store is not getting the items, rather the world wide shipping and storage of them. So Dan is being sent to China in two weeks to finalize everything (have fun Dan!) and we have 3 logistic companies we are considering now - so- we will get the VIP store up and running before the middle of the year (likely sooner, but I'd like to make a tiny attempt to manage expectations at this point).

NEW PRO: AARON BENTON

Well, if you've listened to any of the aussiepokerradio.net shows, you'll think he is a really funny and amusing guy. I'm really happy to have him on board and we are going to do a internet TV series with him and Grant Levy in the Asia Pacific starting in March: think the 'Top Gear of Poker' type show, so if you are interested in seeing how Aussie are, well you'll get first hand look.

AUSSIE MILLIONS
Wow, I'm extremely exhausted from this 3 week event. But we had great representation at the main event with 5 of our pros there (I think we had the most sponsored pros there) and Grant went deep in the main for the $75k Aus and the 15th place, while Aaron got 2nd in the $550 cube Event 22. Terrence Chan joined us for a couple of weeks and I even went to Brazilian Jujitsu class with him where he choked me out twice (thanks Terrence). We also had a great 3 on 3 basket ball tournament with only 3 teams of 4, but besides everyone nearly dying of heat exhaustion in the Aussie sun, we got some great action shots and had lots of beer..mmm..beer.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST
For everywhere but Australia we are using the network's cashier, and I know this has been extremely rough for the US players. Please, if there are any issues, just email us directly at marketing@heropoker.com; some players have waited 5 weeks (very patiently) and then not had any progressed, then emailed us and I found that their account hadn't been verified yet. So, if you've waited a couple of weeks, just drop us a line to at least check if everything looks to be on the up and up with your account verification.

We will be running qualifiers for the WPPT.co! So it is a very unique tournament and we'll be updating that within the next couple of days.

Oh and most importantly, Dan did do the accolade and Dave (me) didn't realize that they didn't automatically get issued, even though they are in the system, so whoever wins today's MTT and Triumvirate (1st) will get the ultra cool accolades today. Sorry no accolades for the Golden Apples and the $5 PLOs. I will be looking at the $5 Golden Apples and adjust it if it needs to be adjusted over the next few days. To qualify to play there, you just need to have deposited once.

To close, the reason why we launched the Golden Apples promotion is that we are slowly going to start to branch out and take care of the players who have been with us from the start and now are playing regularly on all the different games. We are not going to pull back our existing promotions, as they continue to provide a great learning environment for PLO as well as give players a shot every day. Our obvious next step is to start to incorporate our rewards with the different VIP classes and the Golden Apples is just a small step towards that.

Oh on one last thing, we got an amazing story of a player who started with zero on Hero and got his role up to 1k (its close to 2k now) and he has written out how he got there and what he did as a guide. So we'll be posting his story and guide up by next week (I was going to do it much earlier, but then I got hit in the head with the Aussie Millions), but he is legit and you'll be able to see his stats online once we release his story and guide, from zero to hero. What I really like about the entire story is that he took the initiative to email us and let us know about his goal and he isn't a pro or anything, but someone who really love to play poker and got back into after some time off. I think is a story that is much like most of our players.

Apologies for the inconsistencies of the updates, I will make a conscious effort to at least give regular communication, we will be putting up the $30 Guarantees during the Asia Pacific times by the end of the month as well, so for all you non-Aussies out there, if you fancy getting up at 5 or 6am to play, there will be a good micro value tourney there for you every day. =)

I like that the Golden Apple $500 has a higher VIP Point requirement, but 600 points in a week is probably too steep. I was hoping for a Hero specific thing where you would do something in line with the 100K thing and have the requirement be like 250 points. Keep a look out for this weeks total participants and if it is super low, consider lowering the 600 point requirement. But thanks for having the best Merge skin out there.
