Sorry maybe this is a stupid question, but I signed up for Carbon poker a week ago. Can I still enter your freeroll on May 15? Or do I have to register for Hero poker first?

You need to sign up for Hero Poker, different User Name.

You can have more than one account on the Merge Network, but only one Rake Back Account. I haven't looked at the qualifications for the Freeroll yet, haven't downloaded the software, don't know if you have to deposit first.

There is a way to sign up, you need a password, you might want to PM David on this though.

The following example is for $2/$4 but it also applies to $1/$2 and higher.

With all due respect, please do not tell me that the Merge's rakeback makes up for the difference, cuz it doesn't, it doesn't even come close. If you like, I will demonstrate, just let me know.

But all in all, with this rake structure, the Merge Network turned LMT holdem into a slot machine situation (from the Merge point of view), please think about that.

Please keep in mind, prior to 4/15, I was a winning Supernova at PS (even without VIP $), but with the Merge Network rake structure I don't think it's possible.

In order for your room to grow, I believe that you would also have to attract business from the non-US community, and why would international players play on Merge with that rake structure (it's so much higher than industry standard).

In addition, even with a bunch of LMT holdem regs playing, it's still highly profitable for Merge and for the skins. Their still getting their rake, and the fish don't think too much about the regs, (fish always think they can beat regs).

So, with all due respect and for the sake of US poker players, and poker in general, do you think you can get Merge to make their LMT holdem rake in-line with the industry? (It would attract alot of additional activity to the Merge Network.)

Also, if you do a complete analysis, you will see that even the rake for NLH is higher than industry, (not as high as LMT Holdem but it's still higher).

Look at PS, look at their rake structure. See how they do. Please make a case for Merge to follow it. Thank you.

2. Also, how do you feel about account to account transfers for staking purposes?

The reason I ask is that based on responses from your support team, you would need to make a real money deposit in order to initiate money transfers. However, many U.S. poker players are hesitant to deposit and are looking for backers to fund their play. I understand the need for verification, but having to verify and make a real money deposit makes it much more difficult to stake.

Thanks for your time.
Hi sorry for the late reply, but hopefully I'll be able to put in a good 2 hour session to get all these forum posts answered.

1. unfortunately no, all merge accounts are separated as well, so you'll have to pull out your cash from one account and then put it in to another, this is done to prevent network partners trying to steal away other players from each other (which I'm not trying to do here, just answering this question), so while it is an uber pain in the butt, you'd have to repeat the process with Hero, but since the support is the same, at least they'd know you.

2. I can assist you with this manually to start, but we need to confirm all your ID details and the people you are transferring to initially must also upload all their id and verify their identities etc. I know from player's perspective this is a big hassle, but the fact is that we are not a bank and if players use us in a banking way by transferring funds around, BUT, we haven't done a due diligence on the player, we are effectively allowing for the potential of money laundering, as the purpose of the funds being in the account are to play with, not for transfer. So, while it makes sense to the player, I don't think interpol would agree. But as long as we make sure everyone's ID is verified properly we can manually do it to start until players start to get account history etc.

Cheers,
Dave

We do have western union and again, if you pm after you deposit of $100 or more, I'll credit the $12 transaction cost to your account.

Again, do Merge tables all have the same basic look with minor skin to skin variations?

I have read "Artificial Intelligence and Tracking Software" contained in your T&C. Can you be more specific about what programs are allowed? Specifically, Sharkscope HUD please. Thank you.
We share the same features, but we didn't include those features as our main selling point isn't the client features but our boutique positioning as players may come to Merge for the that, but that does nothing to assist in differentiating ourselves from the other networks, which in itself is another issue all together. Most merge sites have similar table graphics, I'd say that Lock is really the exception though, but for Hero, I basically got the best poker designer that I've worked with and he made the default design and said the standard table design was actually quite good and then I got all my pros to vote on it and there you have it.

http://www.heropoker.com/en/download/guide

If you click on the guide and scroll down you'll see every visual aspect of our site. Again, I didn't believe the client to be a main point of differentiation because we basically share it as it is with other networks.

2. Sharkscope, HEM, PT3 are all fine, in fact I believe that even Lock has some type of relationship with sharkscope.

I said WITHDRAWAL option. Given some of the other positives, if Hero Poker had WU or MG as a WITHDRAWAL option, I and many others would choose this skin in a heartbeat.

I'm a recreational player, not a hardcore grinder, if that makes any difference.

Thanks.
No worries, you'll still enjoy RB =)

1. the normal VIP point system with rewards generally around 20%-25% rewards averaged, through 2 ways- prizes and VIP point exchanges. The VIP point exchange alone is exchanged for about 10% rake return if you are not on RB. Then you have the rewards on top of this which are unlocked based on your cumulative VIP points earned which range from anywhere to 18% to even 100% depending upon on the reward for that level, but the average within a 50 level range would be around the low 20's%

2. but with RB you automatically start at 35%; so to make it a bit more reasonable, now you only earn VIP points at 20% but that still gives you a 2% rate return exchange when you exchange your VIP points and since the VIP points are tied to the rewards program, you are going to progress through the VIP program 5 times slower, but honestly, you're already getting more back than 95% of the time with the exception of the divisional level prizes.

So conclusion to make it really simple.
-35% as a return is pretty damn good
-Hero gives only 20% on the VIP points because we do have a rewards program that was designed for players without RB whereas other sites will give 65% on the VIP, but with nearly non-existent VIP rewards (some not all)

-Honestly to have to have a full VIP rewards program even at 65% plus Rb at 35% would be the equivalent of being a SuperNovaElite all the time you play or eve more so or just being a 27% FTP player on the PS rewards system, which sounds really great to players, but would bankrupt a site if all its players were to set up that way if the site did any promotions.

*One major point that hasn't been address is that Hero gives itself a margin to do monthly promotional events with our margin that allows us to draw in new players and reward existing ones at the same time.

And for me, honestly, no matter how many of these players I don't get cause they want 2.1% more rakeback or whatever, its totally fine, because when they get 0.5% more from another site then they'll be gone anyway, so why waste my personal time and energy on them when I can put it towards players who will appreciate it.

Do you allow US players?

We do not restrict any market and have no requirements to deposit to play as there are freeroll you can play in.

Sorry for the wordiness of my posts, I just wish to be thorough.

If I have created an account with Lock Poker in which I was automatically signed up for rakeback (but never deposited/played on the site), and now create a Hero Poker account, can I be removed from Lock Poker's rakeback program and added to Hero's? This is assuming I deposit onto Hero before June 1st obv.
If it was automatically applied, then just email lock support to take it off and then send me your username and we can sort it out from there. And even if you don't deposit before June 1st, it is automatically applied in the case of Hero. But, please note that if you did chose to get RB in Lock, then it is unlikely they will take it off and this is a network policy so I cannot assist you with this until you have confirmed with them yourself.

Cheers,
Dave

Terrence, saving the CEO's bacon. Thanks!

And just for all you twoplustwo-er, Terrence was actually the first pro that I thought of when I thought of launching Hero Poker because he is consistent, professional and can truly just stand on his own with his own style, he ain't following anyone but doing his own thing. Not that he needed any sponsorship but he was definitely long over due for something permanent.

yes, Just PM with your username, but the rakeback is automatically applied, you may not see it in effect until you start to play, it is paid daily the next day into your account seen under:
Player Admin: Player Ledger

And I don't think there are many Koreans involved with international online gaming at an executive level but there are a few of us kicking around. ^^

A very valid question as many people assume that being a network also means that we pool our player balances or all our promotional tournaments and events. There are network promotions that sites can opt into and there are Site Specific events/promotions that can only be found on that site, such as this Freeroll.

If you'd like to enter the freeroll you are more than welcome to, but you will need to open hero Poker account first, also there can only be one rakeback account per user on the network, and this is not something I can change as it is a network policy. If you chose to play in the freeroll and still wish to stay with Carbon, then simply withdraw the money and re-deposit on Carbon, which is fine with me as Carbon is part of the network and I'd rather you be on the network then off of it.

Ah apologies for not addressing it properly;

unfortunately, we all know what the US situation is, and if we wanted to go down certain roads we could but they would be short lived;

as of now, if you did make a deposit first, then I would suggest you then email support@heropoker.com to get an invite to 'usemywallet' and then the withdraws from there are like any other online wallet, confirmation then about a few days to hit your account.

Otherwise it is a step by step process, but again, if there is some urgency in the issue, I can always try to expedite the process.

While checks are also an option; the time to receive them is very random from 2-6 weeks and for most of you, it is just not a practical option.

Over time there will be further progress, but I agree, until this is resolved many people will not sign up and it's understandable if we cannot provide the right level of service regardless of the current market environment.

Hello Everyone,
again, thanks for the positive comments, as I am only sleeping about 2-3 hours a day every day (my wife gave birth earlier this week so I've had double duty of work and taking care of our 2 year old son), it is really an energy boost, so even though I don't reply back (cause I think it makes me look like I'm trying to promote it), I do really really appreciate the comments and get to at least see your user names (and I do read them over more than once).

I'm going to away from my desk for the next 8 hours or so, but respond to any PM then as well as posts.

Cheers,
David

I've been a member of 2+2 since forever ago and have grown up on this site. Though I don't post as much as I used to, I owe a ton to this site and recognize that it's the biggest and most important online poker forum. I was previously sponsored by Poker Stars for 2.5 years and after last year's WSOP, we couldn't come to a contract agreement, so we parted ways. Shortly thereafter, Terrence Chan approached me with some information about this new site Hero Poker. He convinced me to have a conversation with David and that conversation resulted in me signing on with the company. David has done a great job and I know he will work hard to keep you guys informed and keep this site on the front lines of the new poker landscape. I hope you enjoy the site and let me know if you guys have any questions I can help with.

I saw that, I would sweat it but since the ceo posts basically next day explaining it I will probably brush it off again.
