Hopefully Dave will respond soon that this is being fixed.
Hi guys, I'll address is in these 3 quotes,
basically, with RB after June 1st, things were changed whereby RB players couldn't exchange VIP points any longer- so the rate of VIP point generation was increased from 20% to 25% a short term fix to adjust for this loss.
But if you have RB on other merge sites, the main value of the VIP systems is the VIP point exchange which RB players are excluded from. Whereby at Hero you still progress through the levels, abet at 25% the rate of normal players- but the key point is is that you are earning the 1/4 of the VIP system on top of the 35% RB. Whereas the other sites you will gain participation in their monthly freerolls as well as have that extra VIP points for participation in VIP based tournaments. I don't have those calculations at hand, but again, it should be comparable.
In terms of separating the 65% rake as standing alone without considering the 35% rakeback makes this a hard logic to counter from a player's point of view. But holistically, the entire point of the VIP program is the return to the player, so from Hero's point of view RB players can't get the best of both situations or else merge should have just have issued 41.5% RB (6.5% with the 10% exchange previously) with no VIP exchanges etc. It goes into the entire purpose of what is the VIP program vs RB - which are actually quite different in their purpose and integrating the two isn't as straight forward as considering them separately, which is great for the player, but doesn't make financial sense for the site on a number of levels- and it isn't just about profitability.
That being said, on Merge specifically, the bonuses are tied to VIP levels, so a site giving out 65% progress rather than 25% is a better value when it comes to deposit bonuses and leveling, but our deposit bonuses were adjusted for players that they were at 75 VIP points for $5 because most of the max depositing players were RB players, which with the original 20% (now 25%), put it in line with the normal rate of bonus play through of the other Merge sites. At 65% progress with the other sites, with the regular bonus standard, it would actually take longer to clear the initial deposit bonuses (reloads would be quicker in certain cases.
My main objective moving forward is to sort out the no RB VIP system first, and may give more value to player than RB in the long run. So at that point, RB players will be able to make a decision at that point. But again, the main point of Hero is our focus on player confidence through being as transparent as possible. This was in progress for June 1st, then pushed back due to changes in the over all system and expected changes as well, but it appears that everything is now settled with the network's VIP system's conditions. I am not going to give an exact date on this until I'm a bit closer to settling this, but it will be sorted before then end of September.

If I find the spreadsheet or take the crazy amount of time to reproce it I'll post results. But most people aren't going to take the time figuring out something so complicated. There are levels with very low percentages kind of like dead spots in the rewards. The idea of all the different levels and rewards so good in theory. But the KISS (keep it simple stupid) is way better. The whole thing needs to be scraped and reworked with something a like more obvious and simple. Locks rewards plan is nice and simple except for how they messed up with the casino side reward for high volume.
I agree that KISS is usually the better way to go in most cases, but not just for the sake of keeping it simple. This VIP system will go through a number of more revisions, and in terms of absolute return as is, it is un-impressive, but it wasn't meant to be impressive as a stand alone. But this is particularly frustrating to state because I'm still sourcing merchandise and we are right in the middle of our ramp up period, internally in the company, and while I did expect to be able to report more things for August- we are just getting into in now. But I do the expect the final package will be impressive cause if it is not, the entire focus on being 'boutique' does become a meaningless marketing gimmick.

I personally think that we should get VIP points for all the money being raked. I deposited $300 dollars 3months ago. I play PLO10 and PLO25 every day at hero. I am only at Barbarian level 52 and I have only cleared $90 out of my bonus. The levels are getting harder and harder to attain and the bonus redemption is a joke. I have 9 days left and then I will lose my bonus. I play every day and have cleared only 33%.
Players do clear the bonus on RB, that being said, I don't expect players to devote their lives to their bonus and the one part of being a boutique that I am still able to keep up (although responses have been slower as of the last month due to constant travel- apologies) is simply email at
marketing@heropoker.com and let me know what is up and after a review if it is reasonable, then lets work something out. I am a real person who lives and breathes this company every waking moment and while I do have network restrictions that come with being a partner site; if it is reasonable then lets try to figure something out.
