Found em for some reason i have to click on a file called x86 and the history file is there plain as day. Strangely enough though it does not show up when i do a windows search which is what had me confused.

If I were to convert a $109 or $215 tourney ticket to cash, would you withhold the tourney fee like you do with the tourney tickets you earn through the vip system?

Why is the % you earn VIP points on Hero so much less than on Carbon?

From Hero rakeback report:"VIP points will be earned at a slower rate. Players on 35% rakeback will only earn VIP points on 20% of their rake."

From the Carbon rakeback report: "VIP points will be earned at a slower rate in accordance with your rakeback percentage (e.g. 35% rakeback means you will only earn VIP points on 65% of your rake)."

If I'm getting 35% rakeback then I should be earning VIP points on the other 65% of my rake anything else doesn't seem fair. If 20% is correct this really sucks!

Also how does this affect the Hero tiers if I advance through the tiers by earning on only 20% of my rake it will be next to impossible to advance very far at all since it's already pretty tough once you're half way up the scale as it is?

I really like Hero and just got my RB switched over from Carbon but this makes we wonder if I made a mistake. I'm really hoping this is a mistake since it really makes little sense! I'm paying 65% of the rake so I should be earning VIP points on that 65%!

Oh, ah, I think he might've already changed VIP points earnings to 25% of RB instead of 20.

Unfortunately, it is all too true. I think Dave is going to try to improve things; but I don't remember how much, and exactly when. Someone else might chime in to give you more. Also, you can search for posts by Dave. His handle is "Hero Poker CEO". If you wait a bit, though, Dave will pop on and answer all unanswered since he last checked in.

I think he might've already changed it to VIPs on 25% of RB.

That really sucks! It is 25%, I just checked but that still doesn't get it. If we're paying 65% rake we should earn VIP points on that 65%!!! It will be absolutely impossible to ever reach the higher VIP levels this way and it just makes no sense.

Hopefully Dave will respond soon that this is being fixed.

I think Hero's rewards programs tourney tickets etc as they are now from what I've seen discussed are pretty much even if you have the 25% rakeback with what you would earn moneywise on a skin that has 65% rakeback I'm no math guy though. I decided not to go with any rakeback at all on Hero so it's a moot point for me.

I think it is worse if I recall correctly. I did the math on a spreadsheet once and the percentages were un-impressive. I think I might have deleted it, so I can't be sure. If I find the spreadsheet or take the crazy amount of time to reproce it I'll post results. But most people aren't going to take the time figuring out something so complicated. There are levels with very low percentages kind of like dead spots in the rewards. The idea of all the different levels and rewards so good in theory. But the KISS (keep it simple stupid) is way better. The whole thing needs to be scraped and reworked with something a like more obvious and simple. Locks rewards plan is nice and simple except for how they messed up with the casino side reward for high volume.

Ya I don't really understand that either. Dave said it had something to do with the fact that they are a "boutique" site and so they had extra things that they provide to customers in the way of service that other sites do not provide. I personally think that we should get VIP points for all the money being raked. I deposited $300 dollars 3months ago. I play PLO10 and PLO25 every day at hero. I am only at Barbarian level 52 and I have only cleared $90 out of my bonus. The levels are getting harder and harder to attain and the bonus redemption is a joke. I have 9 days left and then I will lose my bonus. I play every day and have cleared only 33%.
08-21-2011 , 04:15 PM
Boutique site or no boutique site, if I'm paying 65% of the rake I want VIP points on that 65%. It's already ridiculously hard to advance through the levels as it was without RB once you get to Barbarian.

I had RB on FTP and I still earned a bunch of points and this is how it should be.

@Sargent D I'm not talking about getting 35% rakeback v 65% rakeback. The 65% is the amount of rake you pay yet you only earn VIP point for 25% of the total rake paid.
08-21-2011 , 05:35 PM
Not to mention with only earning VIP points on only 25% of my rake I'll even have trouble earning the 250 points for the 100 seats to the 100K. Damn this really sucks!!! As an MTT player it's hard enough to earn points, sorry but how bad this really is keeps hitting me. When I played on Carbon I got RB and still had no problem earning the 250 pts but now....

Hi guys, I'll address is in these 3 quotes,
basically, with RB after June 1st, things were changed whereby RB players couldn't exchange VIP points any longer- so the rate of VIP point generation was increased from 20% to 25% a short term fix to adjust for this loss.

But if you have RB on other merge sites, the main value of the VIP systems is the VIP point exchange which RB players are excluded from. Whereby at Hero you still progress through the levels, abet at 25% the rate of normal players- but the key point is is that you are earning the 1/4 of the VIP system on top of the 35% RB. Whereas the other sites you will gain participation in their monthly freerolls as well as have that extra VIP points for participation in VIP based tournaments. I don't have those calculations at hand, but again, it should be comparable.

In terms of separating the 65% rake as standing alone without considering the 35% rakeback makes this a hard logic to counter from a player's point of view. But holistically, the entire point of the VIP program is the return to the player, so from Hero's point of view RB players can't get the best of both situations or else merge should have just have issued 41.5% RB (6.5% with the 10% exchange previously) with no VIP exchanges etc. It goes into the entire purpose of what is the VIP program vs RB - which are actually quite different in their purpose and integrating the two isn't as straight forward as considering them separately, which is great for the player, but doesn't make financial sense for the site on a number of levels- and it isn't just about profitability.

That being said, on Merge specifically, the bonuses are tied to VIP levels, so a site giving out 65% progress rather than 25% is a better value when it comes to deposit bonuses and leveling, but our deposit bonuses were adjusted for players that they were at 75 VIP points for $5 because most of the max depositing players were RB players, which with the original 20% (now 25%), put it in line with the normal rate of bonus play through of the other Merge sites. At 65% progress with the other sites, with the regular bonus standard, it would actually take longer to clear the initial deposit bonuses (reloads would be quicker in certain cases.

My main objective moving forward is to sort out the no RB VIP system first, and may give more value to player than RB in the long run. So at that point, RB players will be able to make a decision at that point. But again, the main point of Hero is our focus on player confidence through being as transparent as possible. This was in progress for June 1st, then pushed back due to changes in the over all system and expected changes as well, but it appears that everything is now settled with the network's VIP system's conditions. I am not going to give an exact date on this until I'm a bit closer to settling this, but it will be sorted before then end of September.

I agree that KISS is usually the better way to go in most cases, but not just for the sake of keeping it simple. This VIP system will go through a number of more revisions, and in terms of absolute return as is, it is un-impressive, but it wasn't meant to be impressive as a stand alone. But this is particularly frustrating to state because I'm still sourcing merchandise and we are right in the middle of our ramp up period, internally in the company, and while I did expect to be able to report more things for August- we are just getting into in now. But I do the expect the final package will be impressive cause if it is not, the entire focus on being 'boutique' does become a meaningless marketing gimmick.

Players do clear the bonus on RB, that being said, I don't expect players to devote their lives to their bonus and the one part of being a boutique that I am still able to keep up (although responses have been slower as of the last month due to constant travel- apologies) is simply email at marketing@heropoker.com and let me know what is up and after a review if it is reasonable, then lets work something out. I am a real person who lives and breathes this company every waking moment and while I do have network restrictions that come with being a partner site; if it is reasonable then lets try to figure something out.

Dave I love ya, but it still sucks and still makes no sense! If I'm paying 65% of the rake I should earn VIP points on that entire 65%, seems pretty simple. I don't see where I'm benefiting anymore, if even as much as, the people on the other skins. Maybe because I'm not sure what you're trying to say :-) I agree the customer service is great though!

I'll be patient and see how things turn out but the whole thing makes no sense at the moment.

I think I'd rather see a monthly points systems like the other skins have and like Stars had and earning VIP points on 65% if I'm getting RB. The way it is is too confusing to too difficult, especially now with only earning on 25% of my rake.

Maybe you can come up with something that breaks it down and shows the VIP system vs. RB once it's all sorted out.

Also how it compares to the other skins.

To be perfectly honest, I really don't care much about merchandise, I mean it's okay but I'm more interested in bottom line money.

If I could see it all broken down showing the Math I think it would just make more sense.

I think what Dave is saying is that other skins don't have a rewards level like hero does. We get tourney tickets, playthrough bonuses and instant cash when we move up in levels and that makes up for only receiving VIP on 25% of the rake.

Also, I don't know many other sites that have the option "Can't clear your bonus? E-mail the CEO and come to a satisfactory agreement!" You're getting the boutique service in lieu of full VIP generation; if you want the full VIP, go to another site, but don't moan about how there's no service and no one cares about your problems there.
08-22-2011 , 04:26 AM
No I totally agree no one beats Hero or David and I'm not going anywhere, nor did I mean to sound bitchy. I'm just trying to figure it out! All I want to know is which is better the VIP system or RB and the 25% points, it's just a bit confusing. If anyone has figured this all out and has a spreadsheet or something please post it.

I've also figured it out more than I had as of my last post and yeah the whole package is better overall with Hero. So sorry Dave it doesn't suck like I thought at first.

What do you mean the VIP system or RB? Is it one or the other? You can't have both?

If you have RB on Hero, you only earn VIP points on 25% of the raked amount. Also, if you have RB, you can't redeem the points for cash. You do still get tourney tickets and some money as you move up through levels, though.
