David, your updates and all other efforts to communicate are greatly appreciated, but without a reasonable cash out options it's all kinda meaningless. Having access to $2500 every 6(?) weeks is not gonna cut it for a lot of people as that's not enough to cover living expenses. Besides, even those 6 weeks feel hypothetical right now as I've been waiting for Merge just to approve my withdrawal for almost 4 weeks now and it is still pending. Cashing out is definitely the number one concern right now imo, way more important then VIP programs or tournament structures.

Thanks for your hard work and staying in touch with the players.

I completely agree, and I would say Merge does as well. I have successfully cashed out my players earlier than that via check, there seems to be another bottle neck now again in the ID verification/check process. All I can say is that for my players I do whatever I can to expedite the process, if you are on Hero send me your user name and I can forward it to my direct line of support (as the CEO I have that). But completely agree, and will be looking at a host of options in June.

And I thought you wanted a challenge! All you do is sit on your arse and post on 2+2!!

Congrats so far and good luck mate, following the thread and Hero’s progress with interest. (Noticed a few patches in our place on the weekend)

And for what it is worth, I have worked in partnership with David in one of his previous roles and can verify that the man is a beast when it comes to professionalism and dedication. If he can get it done, it will be done. And sometimes when it can't be done he will get it done anyway!

Thanks for putting the second daily freeroll at a more East Coast friendly time!

I am never around at 1AM or 8 in the morning when they seem to run EST. Or are there any plans to make the tournament a little more friendly to us east coasters.
06-07-2011 , 11:49 AM
The new one is at 7PM EST I believe...

The old one (still around, just not new) starts at 10PM EST and ends around 1AM in my experience.

I would like to know the answer to this also. I don't really know how to figure it out on my own though. Can anyone at least explain the process of finding out what the RB percentage is?

I might be able to figure it out but I have a question for anyone that has gotten to at least Barbarian.

There are tournament rewards awarded at each level completed. But how are the instant cash bonus/cash rebates awarded? Is it each level or each division? Am I getting a $10 instant cash bonus/ $15 cash rebate at Barbarian 50 ANNND another $10 instant bonus/$15 cash rebate at Barbain 51 ????

Has it been ending sooner (0030?) since the levels dropped to 8 min?

Definitely no on that, it's a one time reward for reaching Barbarian 50.

Okay I must be crazy but decided to figure out at least one division's rb %.

So here is super easy way to do it, just imagine you play one sng big enough to do the whole division in one game and that sng has a 10% rake fee. Obviously as you move up the rake fee might be less, like 5-8%. But lets just work with that 10% rake fee for this example. And that you take the Cash instead of complicating things with a tournament ticket and having to figure out your ROI on ticket.

A $300 + $30 sng will cover the entire Farmer Division and you will receive 21 (first 3 levels don't get a ticket) Quick Quarter tickets worth $5.25 cash. $5.25 cash divided by $30 rake fee is 17.50% RB for the Farmer Division.

Now that I have the frame work I could knock out the other %'s pretty fast. Just think of it as playing one huge sng (with whatever fee % you want, I used 10%) that covers all the points you need. For the next division up don't forget to add the cash from lower division like for Recruit Division don't for to add in Farmer's $5.25.

Before someone says WFT I have to play a $300 + $30....no, you could play 300 $1 sng's LOL. It's just a super quick method of figuring out the numbers.

Don't forget to add the 10% RB for the point exchange. $30 rake = 300 points which can be exchanged for $3
06-07-2011 , 04:51 PM
Quick way is to add up how many points it will take to reach a target level. Divide that number by 10. That is the amount of rake paid to reach that level. Add up all the tickets and instant cash and divide by the rake paid. Add 10% for value of points.

Example: RB for someone who reaches level 49.
It will take 1225 points. That is $122.50 in rake paid.
($0.30 ticket x 20) + ($0.60 ticket x 24) = $20.40

($20.4/$122.5) + 0.1 = 26.65% rakeback
06-07-2011 , 05:15 PM
That works. Just remember that if you are taking cash it isn't $0.30 it will be without the fee so you'll get $0.25 cash instead of $0.30 tournament ticket.

Something else to consider, at least initially...
I signed up to a different skin initially with RB, and decided to move to Hero after I went busto being stupid with the casino tab. Hero doesnt have the casino tab, which I think is brilliant
Anyways, without RB the initial deposit bonus (100%) clears MUCH faster than the other skins, with or without RB. $5 every 75 points, can't remember what it was on the other skin but it was def higher. $7.50 rake, $5 instant.
So how would y'all work this into the equation, or is it your opinion it's a bonus so it's completely unrelated?
After the bonus wears off it's a non issue of course, but it's pretty nice in the meantime without RB.

Oh well, heavy handed Merge has tightened things up. I don't think Merge wants the old 65%+ RB schemes in place. I'm not sure which skin is best. And of course, which skin is best for my bankroll, time and game choice, will be different than another persons preferences.

So I attempted to do the VIP point exchange tonight. I got to do 300 points for $3.00. It then says I can't redeem anymore, so I move up a level thinking I could do it again. I still can't redeem. There's no way we can only exchange $3.00 per class is there? What else would I do with the rest of the points?

Do you play with rakeback? I think I saw it's Merge wide that rakeback players can't exchange points for cash now. You can still play some tourneys with the points still I guess.

I'm currently waiting my 60 days to make the switch so at this point I'm rakebackless.
06-08-2011 , 12:48 AM
There are some games that you can use points to enter just like cash. Not the sng's but most of the tourneys.
