OP you will end up getting banned. You can't question the legitmacy of online poker sites on 2+2.

Just the way it is.

I guess you missed the part where AP and UB were exposed here on 2+2?

Or that there's a huge, ongoing thread on this very subject?

Anyway, I'm sure this thread will be merged into there as soon as Mike or Marcus drops by....

Re: The great "Poker is rigged debate" - Collected threads edition

I am not going to read this entire thread, but know this.

2+2 has a vested interest in the survival of online poker. People coming and claming foul, are in direct condratiction to their purpose.

AP was an isolated case, and notice they don't advertise here.

You spout out that stars is rigged, or any other advertiser here and you will get banned. Also know that the majority of long time posters here are also affiliates and have the same interest.

Everyone who claims rigged...

Has a selective memory, is a bad player, and should quit poker right??

How come there are literally thousands of people who have posted their experiences with pokerstars claiming foul? Are they all wrong?

Ever think the sites will let a small percentage maybe 10 percent win in order to keep the peace?

More hands per hour thats the reason for the huge hands right? Then how come you have people claiming to have played poker every week for 10 years straight that have NEVER seen a royal flush yet have seen 2 in a single day online?

Here is my opinion. People who think pokerstars deal is 100 percent clean fall into one of these categories.

[They are affiliates or work for the site]
[They are in the small braket who are allowed to win]
[They are ******ed]

Which are you?

It's pretty impressive for someone who is ignorant to at least admit their ignorance.

2p2 stopped accepted advertising from them after the situation arose.

This fact pretty much disproves your whole nutty conspiracy theory.

How are your affiliate profits going? You know getting a REAL job would provide more stable income, and would allow you to move out of your parents house.

What does game security entail? Taking out the trash at the end of the night, and getting the crew donuts?

Literally thousands of people think the world is flat, despite evidence to the contrary. The only difference is that the people on PS who experience the bad beats happen to be on the internet at the time and are two clicks away from venting.

Every week for 10 years = 520 sessions. Assume 8 hours per session = 4160 hours. Assume 15 hands per hour = 60k hands. Lots of online players do that in a DAY.

because live that's like 400 hands and also "Everyone who claims rigged has a selective memory, is a bad player, and should quit poker" probably covers it.

you may want to consider he played an integral part in helping the poker community know and understand about the AP scandal prior to being employed by stars before you continue spouting nonsense.

actually you probably won't consider that at all.

Re: Everyone who claims rigged...

Well I guess live poker is rigged as well. Playing in a live tournament I witnessed the same player hit two royal flushes within 1 hour of each other on two different tables with two different dealers.

I have won a bad beat jack pot getting quad 3s beat by quad 7s at a casino.

I have seen quad 4's flop twice on the same table with in 1 hour of each other at the WSOP Main Event in 2007.

All poker is rigged. Hell life is rigged.

You have the order backwards. AFAIK, 2+2 doesn't take their ads because of the scandal. I know for certain they dropped support of AP and UB from the hand converter for this reason.

Really? Who are all these banned posters? Oh, let me guess, their posts are all deleted so you can't provide any proof.

So do you have any explanation why SooperFish, tk1133, PokErasmus, and many others are still here? Some of them have been posting in this thread for months.

You obviously don't know he was the point person in busting AP/UB and was the person interviewed on 60 minutes about it. I'd guess his reputation in that incident had something to do with PS hiring him to do game security. Because he catches cheaters.

Now show the math to support it, how a 0.5% downward skew in equity for all hands will create 10% more rake for the site. That means, it has to result in the 24/7 average of occupied seats going up by 10%. I think you'll find getting from point A to point B to be quite difficult to construct. On the surface it seems to me that reducing win equity by 0.5% could potentially result in a 0.5% increase in occupied seats due to longer survival times. Where does the multiplying effect come in?

As has been pointed out before, a much safer way to get a small incremental increase in occupied seats would be to spend honest effort on marketing and creating interesting game structures, not in rigging the deal. Show me the risk/reward case.

Re: The great "Poker is rigged debate" - Collected threads edition

If you noticed, most big tournaments are filled up and are never 'underbought' meaning that there is always more money than is guaranteed.

I'm pretty sure that PokerStars and Full Tilt have their own bots that play in the major touranments, probably one or two for every real player. As long as one of these bots wins, pokerstars and full tilt don't have to pay out all the pay outs, they keep the majority of it.

Maybe at the final table they pay out one or two places. But if the remainder are bots, then they keep that money and the buyins of all the real players.

As far as the 'chat' at the final table. Pokerstars and Full tilt can put someone to chat for the bot to make it look like they are playing, but they are actually just rooting for the bot to win.

Watch some final table replays and keep this in mind, then you'll know what i am talking about. Sure they will tell you that nobody is allowed to have any bots in the tourney, but they don't tell you that they themselves can engineer bots to play against you. You have an equal chance to win, but think about it... if it is you against 10 bots, you still have to beat 10 bots, not zero bots. The odds are in pokerstars and full tilt's favor, if that is the case.

Plus they say they are audited, but where are those audits? They are located on an island in Europe and use the fact that most Americans won't bring them up on it due to legal restrictions to fund european poker with American money.

The last thing they have to do is come on poker forums and deny the whole thing. Its a perfect scam, if that was the case.
