also the numbers dont seem to match up, i can get like a $2500 tv for 530k point, thats like $670 or so only taken out of rakeback, does that make any sense, i might just be an idiot

if so i am definitely using my points soon

That's right. The amount of points you use is deducted from your MGR (total gross rake paid), not rakeback. So for a $2500 tv with 27% rakeback, you lose (0.27)(2500) = $675 in rakeback.

The result is you get "charged" 27% of the item's cost in lost rakeback. Very good deal still for anything you will use or can sell.

A lot of the stuff is insanely overpriced though. Sometimes you can actually find better deals on EBay.

Damn, they got Canon Xti. I wish they would have announced it before I bought the monitor.

(i don't feel like getting up to get a ruler and a pen is the closest thing to a measuring stick that i have.

the top is kind of sticky, but not like adhesive like sticky, just kind of sticky. the bottom has an adhesive bottom and stays perfectly in place. overall works well, just smaller than i thought.

My new Toyota didn't have one single flat spot on the dash, which was causing my sunglasses and NLHTAP and Viagra and what-not to go everywhere during a turn. I thru in the dash pad with another order, and liked it so much I ordered another one for the passenger side.

After a year or so they are starting to lose there tackiness on the top portion, though. There were instructions on the packaging explaining how to restore that, but damned if I can remember what it said. Anyone still have one in the package?

Also, I'm curious if anyone has ordered the slingpack yet? Opinions? I'm torn between that and the messenger bag, but really.....over the shoulder? I say ManPurse.

Am I the only one dorky enough to wear the bowling shirt?

And imo, the windshirt and the microfiber jacket are top notch.

The bowling shirt looks ballin'. Not really my style though.

You should e-mail FTP or whoever they get their stuff from about restoring the dash pad.

Pretty sick, but I ordered the 24 inch monitor on Febuary 2nd. I got a UPS notification today and it will be delivered on the 12th. Not too shabby.

Does anyone know anything about the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI?

I know barely more than zero about cameras, but I've really wanted a nice one for a long time. I'm not interested in one that doesn't look like that because I assume they are crappier.

I've heard XTi's are like the top-of-the-line non-professional cameras.. if that makes sense. They're the best hobby cameras.

Support hasn't gotten back to me on this yet, but the default specs on many websites (which tilt has used in other notebooks) are like this:

2.2 Core 2
1 GB RAM
160GB HD
32 MB video card
13.3 viewable (the type of LCD varies I've noticed)
2 MB cache
Vista/XP (option it seems)

Again, waiting on the store to confirm

Please let us know what you hear from the FTP store.

There is a base config even lower/cheaper than that one. The biggest difference (and a dealbreaker for me) is that the 2.0GHz has a Combo drive which cannot burn DVDs (just play them).

From apple.com:

* 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1GB memory
* 80GB hard drive1
* Combo drive
$1,099.00

Image

* 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1GB memory
* 120GB hard drive1
* Double-layer SuperDrive
$1,299.00

Yea, like I said, the range definitely varies, but as with the other tilt models, they go bare-bones on this stuff, though not much sample since they've only had a few laptops in their store so far.

Its a very nice camera. It doesn't do video, so if thats important to you look for another model. It does have an impressively fast sports setting that allows you to hold down the shutter button, which results in it snapping off a ton of pics in rapid succession, which you can put together in imageready to get a very fluid .gif.

I got mine through stars about a year ago and it came with a nice softcase and a uv filter to protect the lens from scratches. They did manage to send me the wrong memory storage unit, something completely incompatible with the camera but I never bothered to complain because I had alread planned to order an 8 gig flash card off newegg.

The 8 gig card is pretty sweet. I think I paid about $70 and I love it, I never have to worrry about running out of space. I'd love it if stars or tilt added some lenses that I could get for it.

K. I have no idea how that's beneficial over other cameras, but thanks a lot. I trust you guys' judgment, I'll probably order one this week.

Got my leather laptop case today and it's sweeeet. You can barely see the FT logo so it doesn't look extremely tacky like most of the other stuff.

Now if only they'd put a laptop with a half-decent resolution in the FTP store to put into it

Has anyone heard any updates from store regarding
1) hi-res / 17" laptops?
2) specs for MacBook?

(I haven't yet, obv)

In some thread in the Zoo, someone said 17" laptops were coming to the store sometime in the next week or so.

The specs on the Mac are up in the air because the store hasn't gotten back to any of us yet (as far as I know), but the default specs on many sites, which tilt has used before, is:

2.2 Core 2
1 GB RAM
160 GB HD
32 MB video card
