Good choice, it's a new updated model (the 50" hasn't been updated yet). Panasonic is one of the top plasma brands, you should be very pleased.

BTW - get HD sources prepped, big HDTVs are pretty ******ed without HD material (HD cable/satellite/xbox360/ps3/hd-dvd/blu-ray).

I have a 50" plasma I bought at the beginning of the year and I'm still constantly amazed watching HD material. Totally transformed the TV-watching experience for me.

What's the difference between the updated version and the non-updated version?

It's basically this year's model vs. last year's.

Improved contrast, black levels, understands 1080p inputs, faster refresh rate, and a far more attractive black bezel imo.

I'd wait if you're looking to buy the 50" from FTP.

Hey zoo,

Not sure if this has been done before. If so, just nuke it and accept my apologies.
FTP has been adding some new items lately and I thought it would be nice to have some reviews of items you've purchased/received/used so other people have a general idea of what they're getting themselves into when making a purchase.
To start, I just received the 9,400 point Page & Tuttle Microfiber Windshirt. I love it. So very comfortable. I got the Large, and it runs quite a bit bigger than I expected it to.
In the same order I got the 3,700 point black Spaghetti Tank Top for my fiance. She likes it better than the one I got her from Pokerstars because it has spandex in it and a built in bra.
My friend just ordered the 69,000 point Garmin StreetPilot GPS Unit. He gets lost a lot so it's pretty helpful he said. Apparently he hasn't had any problems with it, but it was a little tough to get started with it.
One item I'm wondering if anyone else has purchased is the 4,000 point Imago Urban Brief. I'm looking at picking it up, but I want to be able to take the FTP logo off it. Is it just a patch? Also, it says it's not designed to carry a laptop, but is it capable?

Anyway, I thought this thread might be helpful, so post your purchases and reviews here. It might be a good idea to have one for Pokerstars also. Most of the threads I've seen on Pokerstars items deal more with $$$ value, so this could be nice.
This is a beauty post. do you mind if I undress, I mean digress, for a moment. I think using these points goes against rakeback.
I have about 100,000. Does anyone know what this will ocst me in rakeback to use these points. I might even pose in soemthing if i get it. Thanks

For the nth time (where n is a very high number): Every 200 points you spend costs $1 against your MGR. This means that if you have 27% rakeback, it's $.27 against your rakeback. If you spend 100,000 points, $135 will be deducted from your rakeback ((100,000/200)*0.27).

To reiterate: Points are NOT worthless if you have rakeback. For some reason, many people seem to think this even though it is WRONG. It just means that you're actually paying for 27% of the item.

They deduct it from MGR at a rate of .5 cents per point. So if you spend 100K points, $500 will be subtracted from MGR. 27% of 500 is 135. So a 100K point item will cost you $135 in rakeback.

Would the FTP logo be easy to remove from the bathrobe? I need a new bathrobe but hate logos on clothes period.

What if you have already received all the rakeback that you are owed? Do they take it directly out of your balance? Or does it just count against any future rakeback you might receive?

You do even better if you order on the 1st and then don't play on FT that month.

Question - I am saving up FTP points to get the 24" Samsung LCD. My rakeback is via rakeupdate.com, so I actually cashout a few times per week, as opposed to monthly cashouts. Will my rakeback acccount reflect a negative balance if my MGR doesn't cover my FTP store purchase at the time?

The logo is embroidered directly to the bathrobe, so it would probably be very difficult to remove.

I'm 6'4 and the bath robe still does it job. But, PSA: if you're around my height or taller the pockets and belt loops are too high, so I tie the belt around the pocket area at my waist instead of up near my ribcage.

I ordered the Canon sd600 camera and then a week later I saw they replaced it with the Canon sd1000 although it's 10,000 more points. 2 weeks later I was surprised that I received the sd1000.

So far, I think it's a very decent camera.

full tilt hates Europeans. I can't even get a simple Chip Set deliver to Holland. Nice going Full Tilt! What's the problem? Do I live in a third world country? Three stores in my vicinity have poker chip sets but you can't deliver one to me? Yes I could buy one of course, but I wanted to use my points from Full Tilt. But their store s u c k s.
