Sorry I've been absent. I'm on vacation for a while, so maybe I'll get caught up

Okay, it's January.

What's the latest on how FTP is handling the freerolls for having been ranked on the Sit-N-Learns? I qualified for one and would like to take advantage of it.

Thanks!

I should only play 1 sit and learn in a month correct?

Well, unless you think you'll fall off the leaderboard in the one you've done. Pretty hard if you've found this thread.

Of course, we should do zero if we can't find the freeroll...

The short answer is that for a 50NL player, you're not going to get much out of these.

These are fantastic for low-limit players who want to maximize their bonuses - and wouldn't be worth the time to sign up for them for players at your level.

You can certainly turn on some challenges that are specific to your play (there are plenty of cash-game NL based lessons) and get some "free" academy points - and someday get a free $26 token (or something).

Anyone else missing the option to "Make This Challenge Active" when they want to switch challenges? For the past two days my Academy Page only shows "details" where the activate link was located. Thx

You can still activate them, but you have to go to the main page for the challenge and listen to the "This is a Full Tilt Academy challenge..." speech.

Ugh. I'm a serial academy challenge guy (I do 'em 10x and move on), so I've been in the middle of one for a few days..

...I hope this changes. That's fairly obnoxious - in that I added ALL of them (at least those I haven't already done 10x) and used to switch regularly, to do little things that might happen when I played scheduled events or my "normal game."

The good news is I have write-ups on a few of the easier new challenges (all I've had time for).

For the past several days I haven't been seeing the "congratulations, would you like to repeat this challenge" window coming up after getting credited with all the points for a challenge. Maybe I'm supposed to wait longer? I'm pretty impatient, but I think I waited overnight once.

If I click on another challenge to make it active, the old completed challenge is no longer on my list.

What I've ended up doing is:
1. Change to another challenge on my list
2. Select the old challenge from the list of all challenges (it now goes onto my list, but isn't active)
3. Change to the old challenge to repeat it again.

Do I really need to do all this? Anyone see similar quirks?

I had the same problem yesterday and came up with the same solution. That was the first time it's happened to me. Usually takes a while, then goes through. Must be a new glitch.

How about putting some tourney $$$$ into the Academy store? I'd much rather play a bunch of $3 90-man KOs than one $24+2. How about if I say please?

In the "Sizing up opponents" it says play 4 sessions and win 5 pots (net 8 BB) in each session. If I'm playing 4 tables simultaneously is that 4 sessions and I just have to win the 5 pot requirement at each table or is that one session?

Each table counts as a session (so you can complete all four at the same time across four tables).

No updates in four or five days. Anybody else having this problem? It's a pretty obvious completion, winning a SnG, so I'm positive it's happened.

Same here, but I'm so stupid I completed the same task three times -- each time thinking I'd done something wrong -- before realizing it was on their end.

I've been testing a new challenge and the updates have been within minutes. I haven't touched any of the older ones, but so far, it's been great tracking.

The last one I did of the older ones were about 2 weeks ago and all of those took about 8 hours. There is supposed to be a new tracker in place to allow really quick tracking, but I'm not sure how it works on non-hand specific tasks. It's looking like the SnG and MTT performance based ones are taking quite awhile though. The rest are quicker then ever.

Finished one today and it finally asked me if I wanted to repeat. Hasn't done that for a couple weeks. Just about to finish it again and I'll update if it works.

Anyone have any idea how the Rush Poker idea will effect the challenges in regards to "sessions"? Guessing the "session" will be a given seat since you obviously will never stay at the same table. Obviously asking very early just thought of this when I saw update

Played a session to try. Didn't get any of the 50 hands or profit in a session tasks.

Same here. So far it looks like individual hand tasks work, but session ones don't.

Confirmed by FT Support that Rush Poker and Academy Challenges are not compatible, and that seems to be intentional. Something about Academy Challenges being for beginners.

For any FT rep that reads this thread, I think this should be changed. Rush poker is great (in my mind at least, I know some aren't sold), the next step in online poker, and will be how a lot of new people start playing. Obviously letting them complete Academy Challenges while learning is a plus.
