Pokerstars are not regulated in the same jurisdiction as FullTilt (they have an Isle of Man license). Also - Pokerstars have paid the US players and have kept their player funds segregated, likely the two key reasons for AAGC to suspend FullTilt's license.

It's not a US license, it's a license for everywhere, issued from Alderney, a british channel island. Simple wiki/google search people.

Not a US license, their license is from Alderney. Which is, of course, a valid license in all countries that recognize the license (i.e. EU). And they have requirements on license holders, just as a (fictional, potential) US license would carry. FullTilt have not (it seems) fulfilled these requirements and the license has been suspended pending further investigation. In the mean time - no play, no cash out, no nothing.

Three things that could be weighing factors:
* They are charged with bank fraud in the US. Not sure about the Alderney license, but could potentially be a liability for them as bank fraud is a crime recognized in (I guess) all countries and something you can get extradited for (this would also apply for Pokerstars and their Isle of Man license but is a different regulator which might view it differently and have different rules)
* They haven't paid their US players after BF
* They don't seem to have kept their players' funds segregated from the operating accounts

I wouldnt be suprised if they kept their shady business going without a license in an attempt to milk a couple more bucks of the "clever guys" still playing on FTP.

After all, they cant really stop them, can they? There license more or less just seemed like a gimmick to me.

erm they are indicted for MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!? In the eyes of the USA Dept of Justice that's a very serious charge and pokerstars will have ongoing problems dealing with banks/processors/licenses - the only thing keeping them afloat at the moment are their piles of cash and naive player base.

I took my money out of FT last month.

Not paying out to customers. Not even talking about it. just keeping totally quiet about the whole thing. My level of trust disappeared and I went. Why would you want to keep large stashes on there? What has happened in the last few months that gave you confidence in this company?

Who want to dig out and quote all those Microbob's posts about FTP... You were right sir, only true professionals with great business ethic end moral integrity can end up like FTP did. You sure knew what you were talking about.

Yes, that is also a potential cause for suspending the license, but we don't know how neither AAGC nor GSC view those charges. Of course for the US players there is no question that these companies are gone from the market, the question is the potential impact for non-US players.
