Full Tilt isn't getting shut down because of money. They are getting shut down because they are in violation of their regulations. There's nothing to suggest that Pokerstars is in a similar situation.

They are, who said they weren't? This has nothing to do with legality in the UK, it has to do with having their licence pulled, likely because they aren't paying US players or telling them when they will be paid.

It is legal. But the gaming commission has revoked their license, probably because of the way they haven't paid US players yet or kept player funds sake, so no one can play there at the moment until Alderney finish their investigation. They may never come back.

My guess is they made up the maintenance thing to buy time while they debate what to do next. The forums are also down, probably to prevent speculation.

Not all is lost. Despite everything we've heard, I still trust Full Tilt's owners to make their players whole. They can always register a license in another jurisdiction, for example.

Whatever happens, it will likely take a while.

And to think just yesterday I was thinking about withdrawing my roll and dabbling in stocks...

So have no US players been paid since BF?

At least stars have proven that they keep player's funds in segregated accounts so will be able to payout if they did happen to get their license revoked.

it will take a while but i hope they come back.

If the money's not there, and hasn't been for a while, then essentially FTP has been running a ponzi scheme.

It hasn't been revoked ... Was suspended, from what I understood in the press release, untill the hearing takes place ... there's quite a big difference imo.

ironically, I didn't even have FTP installed in my computer, just uninstalled it after playing for take2 and cashing everything out. And today I cashed out everything from Party, before even learning this news, I hope all people who had funds there get them back
