Implications?

Exciting implications.

the implications is to get your money out if you can and not touch them with a bargehole... play at partypoker/888poker/ongame - one of the european networks - not even pokerstars is safe with a multi-billion indictment on their head.

I literally just withdrew this second after hearing the news, I only had $30.90 on there and the minimum withdrawal is fiddy (which is why I didn't withdraw immediately following BF) so I risked depositing another $20 to get my $30 back, I'll see if the gamble pays off....

so that doesn't actually say why they've done it or what the effect of it is
06-29-2011 , 06:15 AM
I'm at work so I can't withdraw =/ Tried to withdraw via their mobile client but that only had deposit options (of course). Guess my $250 is riding out the storm...

EDIT: although now that I think about it, losing a license that didnt really do anything in the first place doesn't seem like it will directly affect the status quo much - could be wrong though

Well presumably gaming license suspended = all gaming operations must stop, so the effects could be massive. I won't totally believe it until I see some sort of corroboration with this article though, we'll see...

well if that happens and it's as a result of whining americans complaining to them, they've kind of shot themselves in the foot if they hope to get paid

Yeah, perhaps. Although I wonder what percentage of players won't mind losing their $ as long at FT get what they deserve.

I'm sure they haven't suspended their license without a lot of thought on the consequences - I doubt if fulltilt is solvent at all at this stage and the license suspension gives them a hammer blow. I can't see Jack Binion investing in fulltilt now!!

In my experience this isn't how a lot of businesses, governments or regulating bodies think, but I suppose there are exceptions.

Not sure if thats the appropriate forum but maybe someone can point out what a gaming licence is really needed for. Does this mean that FTP will have to stop their service soon without a licence or is it more like a advertising thing/giving the players some sort of securtiy feeling and a gaming licence is not really required. Pretty sure that many of us (including me obviously) have no real idea what purpose those gaming licences serve.

All my SNGs stoped, why?
06-29-2011 , 06:27 AM
as someone posted on egrmagazine: "boom....... the end is close, this business is going bust , nothing can save it now - no payment provider will work with an unlicensed business"

I mean they were already having serious problems before with working with banks/processors - they actually had to get the US Dept of Justice to intervene and assure banks that they are not going after another account - now this!!!?? No amount of public relations or shills can save it now.
06-29-2011 , 06:27 AM
wow that happened fast.
