At least it now says "connecting..." when you try to log in - and then it leaves you hanging. Progress??

i'm 99% sure everything's canceled by now. they can't assume that everybody's hung around this long, waiting for it to pop back up.

My client has changed from instantly saying sorry-cant-connect to saying "Trying again..." forever. I am not sure if this is progress or not.

And to those who say it never happens playing live - it DOES. Ever been in a cardroom when the power went out?

The lights were out for about 10 seconds. When they came back on we all had to sit still for several minutes while security confirmed that nothing looked amiss at any of a number of key places. Then the floorman's stand got a phone call saying it was OK to resume.

This is what I think of this and Full Tilt's underwhelming response:

Good luck. =)
Wat? They don't refund your buyin and then pocket the other buy-ins. They will pay out all of the prize pool to those still in the tourneys.

They are in no way profiting from being down.

players who are still in should get the buy-in of those who busted (according to their chips/equity), not fulltilt.
they didn't play poker, we did.

It auto tries and then instantly gets a response "server down". Which means there is a server up - and it's goal is to say I am down.

Looks like they are coming back on line. Still cant get on but it is not saying "sorry unable to find server" anymore.

I am guessing it isn't happy with 30K people trying to log back in at once.

"You are just a few seconds away from playing the most exciting poker anywhere online. Please be patient while we establish your connection to full tilt poker, and good luck at the tables.'

Slightly interested in the words 'seconds' and 'patient'. Also, does anyone think I'll get a reply to the email I sent when I thought it was just my computer playing up?

They do, at least that part of the money that is in the prize pool (the $10 of a 10+1 tournament). The $1 they keep, just as they always do, for those who have already busted.

I once played in a tourney where a water main broke in the hotel right before it was supposed to start. Ended up being delayed over an hour for the start because they were more worried about the river in the hotel lobby.

* If the tournament had not yet reached the money - All players still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will be refunded their tournament buy-in and tournament fee. Players will have their buy-ins refunded in the same currency they used to enter the tournament (real money, tokens, etc.), unless they earned their entry through a satellite, in which case, they will be refunded the standard buy-in for the tournament. In addition, the buy-ins of players already eliminated from the tournament will be divided up and distributed to the remaining players, based on their chip counts. Guarantees and money added to the prize pool will not be included in the player payouts.

* If the tournament had reached the money - All players still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will be awarded with the next guaranteed payout and have their tournament fee returned. In addition, the remaining prize pool will be distributed amongst the surviving players based on their chip counts.

* If a tournament awards a non-monetary prize, such as World Series of Poker prize package, Full Tilt Poker will assign a monetary value to the prize, and distribute the cash value to the remaining players, based on their chip counts. If all remaining players have each won the first-place prize at the time of cancellation (e.g., the remaining players have each already secured a WSOP prize package), they will each keep their prizes.

Occasionally, due to technical difficulties, a tournament may be cancelled. Depending on the tournament's status at the time of this cancellation, Full Tilt Poker will do the following:

* If a tournament is voided before it starts - Players will have their buy-ins and fees returned in the same currency they used to enter the tournament (real money, tokens, etc.), unless they entered the tournament through a satellite, in which case they will be refunded the standard buy-in for the tournament.
