FTP US Player Update 5/30 FTP US Player Update 5/30

This is the worst update FTP has made so far. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt on all the rest of them. But this one is by far the worst and least satisfying. I've always held onto the belief that we would be paid within 3 months. Well it's been a month and a half... and after this announcement I don't see us getting paid within the next month and a half.

FTP should have a bake sale or a car wash at the WSOP to help pay us back.

i have 4 friends in the u.s who have money tied up on ftp. they only started on ftp because they saw me playing there and wanted to try it out.

Since black friday not one of them has ever emailed full tilt or posted on a messege board complaining/crying about where their money is.

they all knew the risks involved in playing from the u.s post uiega per conversations i had with them in the past.

the only thing any of them miss is the ability to play but even then they are getting by playing at casinos since they all have day jobs and moving out of the u.s wasnt an option for them.

As far as they are concerned ever receiving their money from ftp is a bonus and that is all. thats how i treated my neteller funds when they got locked up and a lot of people crying could stand to learn a lot from that mentality.

if you are 'hurting' bad right now because you can get your money you only have yourself to blame, not the doj, not ftp. Only yourself.

ftp just had an account released in ireland with 100-150mil in it so obviously the accounts listed in the indictment that were frozen were not just the ones in the u.s.

complain all you want and bitch at ftp doug and the red pros but it will change absolutely nothing. When they have the money they will pay out and thats it.

I obv can understand disapointment and anger but don't forget this company is still working (there is a world next to the US) and it is still providing great service with no withdraw issues what so ever.

[\QUOTE]

Pretty sure there are multiple threads on here with people complaining of restricted, slow, or failed payouts to non US players.

Doug, you say getting us our money is Full Tilt's highest priority. Does this mean you guys won't be spending any advertising money on this year's WSOP, for people to wear FTP gear at feature tables, or to put your FTP pros in WSOP events? Because if you're spending money on advertising before paying anyone back, then by definition you're lying about cashouts being your highest priority. I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow with Event #1, I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks Doug, I honestly appreciate the update (even if it doesn't really have any new info). I rather hear "We're still working hard on getting you your money, but have nothing new to report." than not hear anything at all. Please keep working on getting our money back!

Guess u missed my point; Every bank should maintain sufficient funds to pay every depositor if every depositor demanded their money. But this is not the case. BofA, Wells Fargo are nothing but Ponzi schemes.

As they do not have enough cash to meet their debts to US players, they are by definition insolvent.
So it is your opinion that Black Friday was part of the usual course of business?

I realize that the average 2p2er has gotten a lot dumber over the years, but it's still surprising and a bit depressing to read these threads and see how many people seem to have not already picked up on the fact that FTP is having a cashflow problem. Did you expect the next announcement to be "lol we've had your money sitting here by the fireplace all along, we just thought it'd be funny to see y'alls reaction if we screwed around with you for a while"? Equally surprising is how you guys all seem so surprised that FTP isn't posting specific details of their business negotiations out in the open. There was nothing particularly surprising about anything in their statement; they acknowledge the obvious and aren't able to say much more at this time.

I'm somewhat accustomed to 2p2 lynch mobs and their inability to do any sort of critical thinking during any type of drama, so the above things are somewhat to be expected, I suppose. But what really takes the cake is the epic stupidity on display from all the dudes who apparently have no idea that the DoJ froze dozens of bank accounts all over the world which belonged to FTP. This was in the press release from the DoJ on April 15. Your inability to grasp the basic facts of the news you're trying to discuss is epically tilting and makes it nearly impossible for anything resembling intelligent discourse to take place. It would be great for all of us if you types of people would refrain from ever posting messages on the internet again except for on facebook and youtube. Thanks.

Then you should have paid better attention in classes, because every definition of Ponzi schemes I can find includes the business promising or paying returns on the investment, including one from the U.S government:

http://www.sec.gov/answers/ponzi.htm

Maybe the rules are different for you, but I don't recall Full Tilt every promising me any amount of return, and I've always known that my income comes from other players, not Full Tilt.

Hell, for that matter, I've always known that money I deposited on full tilt wasn't going into any sort of investment fund, and that if I wanted to make money, not only would I have to beat other players at the games being offered, but I would have to do so at a rate exceeding the amount of $ that Full Tilt scrapes off the top.

Seriously, the fact that you have a masters in finance, and can even use the term "ponzi scheme" in reference to full tilt's business absolutely flabbergasts me. You should try to get a refund on your education.

To the people saying we only have ourselves to blame for having money that we need tied up on FTP... That is not always the case... I had just a couple hundred bucks left on FTP back in march.. I was weeding out of playing on there.... I had a decent score in a tournament and got my account up to about 6k. Well.. on MARCH 14th I tried to cash out 6k via premium bank wire... ONE MONTH BEFORE BLACK FRIDAY!! Did I ever get it?? NO.. they put it back in my FTP account on April 14th.. so I did a $2,500 bank transfer.. next day.. boom black friday.. so now not only do I have money tied up on FTP that I tried to take out over 2 months ago.. but I got $2,500 in limbo as well.

Hard to believe it's my fault when I tried to get my money off there over a month before black Friday hit. If FTP didn't have issues in the first place.. I wouldn't be one of the ones with money tied up on the site..

Doug,

1.Please reconsider your FTP store policy for not allowing us to purchase cash bonuses/tickets that can then be converted to cash. I don't want to be a walking billboard for a company that I no longer support. Also, your electronics are a terrible value.

2.Even though this update was nothing new, I appreciate the announcement. Please continue to keep in touch as often as you are allowed to do so.

3.Pay us out before you lose your remaining customer base please. If I was outside the US, there is NO WAY I would be giving you any further business with the way you are treating the US players.

I see your point, but maybe right now they need a more aggressive marketing and advertising campaign than ever?

If they can continue to operate profitably worldwide then that gives them the best chance of paying out the US players IMO. If they cant, then their profits will plummet, they will never find any investors, and everyone is more likely to get stiffed.

harrah's took 180mil in rake at last years wsop. usually 25-33% is paid to the floor staff, giving harrah's 120-135mil profit roughly. maybe ftp should, (or has behind the scenes), sell out/join up their software etc.. w harrahs for the future US online market, or at least sell them their rush software, they could raise some capitol that way.

edit: woops nvmd wsop rake being enuff to help ftp out, that 180mil number i saw was in total prize pool meaning they only profited 18mil in rake, 5-6 of which went to the floor
