so how does an rsa work? I saw on stars you need to order sheets with 25 codes. Does that mean you can log in 25 times and then you need to order a new sheet? so I would need to spend 5k points every month, assuming I log out each night?

Do you have anything useful to add to this thread? Anything at all?

The sheet with the codes are backup if you lose/break your RSA token until the new one arrives

Hey guys just want to clear up that I was incorrect about my earlier post on breaking the RSA using the codes Stars sends you if you lose your key. I don't play on Stars and I incorrectly assumed the "codes" meant the future RSA generated tokens but in fact they are completely unrelated.

Breaking the RSA SecurID token requires an unrealistically large amount of data that would be near impossible to ever attain. This system is VERY VERY safe and I look forward to seeing far less posts about people's accounts being hacked.

just wondering, if one with a bankroll of <2k, would this be worth it?

Would you buy a safe to store a penny?

Yea, number, it being "worth it" is something you'll have to decide, mostly on if you feel your BR size is worth the extra protection.

ahh, so as long as I never lost my RSA token, then a one time purchase would be all I would need? If so, I think I'm going to be in.

my br is less than 2k and I'm heavily thinking about getting it. I would just use iron medals so rb is not affected.

Same situation. I emailed support to ask for a confirmation email.

yes it is correct, iron man store purchases with medals do not affect your rackback. And its cheaper in the iron man store.

for the disabling thing, couldn't they just put it in the software so you have to change the setting after you've already logged in with the RSA code?

That's why they need a sheet of one time codes like stars has.

depending on how long it takes ftp to deliver a new token, they'd probaby have to provide a 500 codes sheet.

so, you log in with the rsa key to disable the rsa key login, because you lost your rsa key... sounds like a flawless system to me.

hope doug posts some more details about how they are going to deal with lost tokens.

Is the security key more secure than the mobile phone application? Is there any real difference between the two?

Pretty sure the $600 bonus came out of my RB. I might be wrong though.

100 medals or 5k points is really cheap. Nice of FTP to subsidize it, or bad of them to get some cheap thing.

What do you think you'll need to carry around more, your cell phone or your security key? What do you think you think you have a greater chance of losing, your cell phone or a security key on your desk?

GL with your tokens everyone. I'll keep using my 16 character, random password and stay away from downloading suspicious content for now though.

Not sure if this is true.... I assumed the same at first and ordered it thru the iron man store. But then thought about it.

5k points = a $6.75 RB hit... however 100 medals is worth $18.57. Because 140 medals are worth a $26 token. Therefore if you don't mind playing a tourny with the token then it is cheaper to use 5k points...
