I mean, the money flow of the poker economy is pretty simple. Fishes put money in through deposits, and both the room and the winning regs get money out through rake and winnings respectively. When the regs are shortstackers, they exploit a somewhat small edge and therefore most of the money out goes to the rake. When the regs are deepstackers playing deep tables, they exploit a much bigger edge over the fishes and become much better competitors against the rake as beneficiaries of the poker economy.

If this is indeed a business decision and not just an unintentional screw up, then we should probably argue that while they will indeed get a larger part of the pie with this new policy, the pie will inevitably get smaller and smaller.
Ill only get one piece of apple pie now. I use to get two pieces of apple pie.

It really doesn't make sense that people want this gone, and, yet, they want ring game filters. Make up your mind.

ring game filters won't put 100bb tables at an advantage to deep tables.

How is this and ring game filters the same? Stars as ring game filters but if you don't put it to use 50bb min and regular games are still grouped together.

Casual players don't care about filters, deep tables, or short stackers. They just click on the first table with an available seat at the limit where they want to play. The new Tilt update ensures that all of those casual players now go exclusively to the standard tables, making it incredibly hard to start deep tables (or keep them running once started). They've literally dropped from around a dozen to zero at my favorite play times.

Having filters, or not, won't effect casual players at all. Moving deep tables away from regular tables has a huge effect.

Re: Official FTP Fix The Deep Tables Thread

wow, at 10nl there's only one deep table running...

dear ftp, I think your change does effect the deep tables...

now it's up to you... I like the way they are organized but if that means no more actions... get rid of the changes

I think I've played every day in the last month and I've never seen such thing, perhaps not even in the dead hours...

but surely you at ftp have all the stats to see by yourself...

I don't wanna join the dark side of poker... SSing

Re: Official FTP Fix The Deep Tables Thread

My complaint is that the cap tables are on top which apparently a lot of players are now joining. I joined it myself at first and didnt realize it was cap till the pop up box came in.

Seems like a lot of players just sit at the first tables they see which turn out to be cap tables and the fish dont mind which kind of sucks for the regs like myself who want to actually play with more than 30bb stacks... the normal noncap games are pretty much just regulars now.

Please FTP put cap games at the bottom of the list! Hopefully the fish wont be looking for them now ><

Well assuming that you can filter for deep, they IS the same thing.

I obviously don't know what their intentions are.

Unless your argument is that players won't bother to filter.

The point is for people who don't care what they join, they just want to join a game of the stakes they want to play. They wouldn't use a filter, they don't bother to consider which type of game they want, they just look for an open table and join it. Right now no one who just looks for a seat and joins is picking the deep tables. We have a problem with that. I'm perfectly fine with filters and if someone wants to filter out deep tables and only join normal ones more power to them, but I want the people who come in and don't filter just want a quick game to be able to see the deep tables right along with the normal ones since they are basically the same game to your average recreational player.

Whoever is saying that this is required for a true table filter, that's bull****: PS has deep and non-deep tables mixed in quite nicely along with an excellent table filter.

This. People aren't asking for preferential treatment for deep tables in the eyes of the fish, just even treatment.

If deep tables were separated and put above non-deep tables, they'd draw more fish. If they were put below (as now, they draw a lot less). Mix them in and the fish who don't care what they play (read: 95% of fish) will join whatever happens to be open or at the top of the big, mixed list. If people don't want to play them they are clearly marked now with a blue icon.

This is what PS does and what FTP used to do, before their brainfart in mixing it up. Let's just hope hurt pride doesn't keep them from changing it back.

Re: Official FTP Fix The Deep Tables Thread

I sent an e-mail to FTP a day ago (to support@fulltiltpoker.com) and got this back just now:

"Hello XXXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your email to Full Tilt Poker regarding our deep tables.

If our understanding of your concerns is correct, we would like to assure you that these tables have not been moved to their own section. However, the word (deep) has been removed and replaced with the icon that represents this.

For details regarding the new features in our software, please visit our site at...."

They were replying to this:

"Hi,

I see in your recent update you moved deep tables to their own section. This is a huge, huge negative: fish no longer sit at these tables and as a result nobody sees any reason to play them, and they don't run. You need to undo what you just did: put deep tables back into the same mix as non-deep tables (dont segregate them at all, like you used to). People who don't want to play deep tables can still not at sit at them and they are visually identifiable in the lobby through their new blue symbol.

I am playing on PokerStars until this is fixed: this is a huge, huge, huge, issue for me.

Thanks"

---

So apparently FTP doesn't even understand what I/we are talking about. Great.
