yesssss

I wonder if they mean all PL/NL/deep/cap games will be together though (surely full ring won't be together too, right?). anyway, this is definitely a good thing just curious what they mean by "when you sort by "Stakes", there will be no separation of the game types at all."

Keep this thread going until it is actually fixed btw, no telling what they will actually implement despite their predictions.

Hey quadaces9999,

Thanks for the feedback.

We didn't intend to isolate the deep stack games, and are working on an update for the end of this week that will change the listings so all game types at each stake level are merged together. This should restore the popularity of the deep stack games.

Thanks again.

I can't imagine this was not their intention. As soon as it was done many of us were worried this would happen so I don't know how not one person at FTP couldn't see it coming. I think their intention was to kill deep games but didn't imagine the outcry that it would get.

you're being a bit dumb then, why would they want to lose rake? they messed up some SNG listings(certain SNG games were completely gone) after the server crash happened and they have since fixed that, so they'll do the same about this as well.

WTF, if they wanted to kill the deep games then they would just take them away and offer some strange reason for having done so.

lol ZERO deep tables at 1/2 FR right now and most of the night, a week ago there would be ~10. i really hope they do what they said they will do and fix this disaster.

the last few days have been unbearable trying to get hands in, instead of 50%+ of the tables having no wait list, 90%+ now do, most with >1.

another 3-6 months of short stack infusion at the current rate and the games will be unplayable.

sadly i am really considering either MTT play or live play. thank you germany!

You do realize that the people that write the software either don't play poker or suck at poker right? I think they rushed the new features out without anyone really thinking about what was going to happen.

LOL, so after months and months of people asking for deep tables you think they would think they could just get rid of them and not expect people to be up in arms?

As for the software people not being poker players, that doesn't matter, the software people aren't the ones who make these decisions they just write the code. You can't be naive enough to think that poker people don't have any input in decisions made on a site that was created by poker people.

Here is the reasoning for why they would want to kill deep games but do it in a subtle way. They figure due to rakeback and overall comfort there regular players would not leave the site and would just grit their teeth and grind it out at the regular tables when not enough deep tables were runnings. They also know it's a benefit for their short stackers and would probably take some SSers away from Stars since they would be able to play in pretty much every game on FTP. And the casual player doesn't care much either way and would continue play. That is where the big thing is, casual players are going to go broke whether it happens sooner or later. Not having deep tables running so frequently makes it take longer for casual players to go broke, due to the fact when they double up to 200bbs at a regular table they are going to be covered by regs a lot less frequently and can't go broke on 1 hand while that is not the case at deep tables. Also at deep tables regs are able to isolate against casual players more freely due to not having to worry about SSers shoving over their raise.

So it makes perfect business sense to kill off deep tables if they were able to get the regs to stay put, because the casual players keep their rolls alive longer and pay more rake without deep tables. But every reg who prefers deep tables on 2p2 immediately complained and many threatened to move to Stars so they realized they had to put it back. I mean Deep games were even put below cap games, when cap games were previously listed below the uncapped games at the same limit. The intent was to bury them.

FTP fuxored this one still. Separate the PL tables from the NL ones. Having the deep and normal tables intermixed is a good thing. However, PL is a diff game structure and should be separated. This is going to create some ******ed congestion, especially in the HU lobby. Plz to make another small fix.

Wow. You guys are right. Deep stacked tables are definitely less sparsely populated with the current system.

I loved the new lobby when it first came out, didn't think it would have an impact... but I was totally wrong. This definitely needs to be fixed soon.
