So whatever the grinders make by getting the black card, they loose by the new rake calculating method.

Oh and yeah: whatever FTP looses by giving the black card they win by the new rake calculating method as the most active players (30%+ vpip for FR) don't have a RB account.

I didn't see that one coming, very smart FTP.

That's it for me, I am going for SNE next year. U loose a 30 month plus full time grinder.

C. New Rake Calculation Method: This only directly affects players with rakeback, but as of tomorrow, October 1st, we're moving from the "Dealt" method of calculating rake to the "Weighted Contributed" method. This means that instead of everyone who gets dealt into a hand getting an equal share of the rake credited to them, it's only the players who put money into the pot that get any rake credited. The credit is split by what % of the pot you contributed.

Great news on moving to weighted contributed, and adjusting other promotions to suit it!

BING BLANG BLAOW IMO

A. Instead of remembering the last table background I had selected
(jungle/midnight/etc) when opening a new table, remember separately for each of
9max, 6max, 6maxrush, tourney, etc. If possible, when moving to a new tourney
table, remember what the background was for the table it replaced.

B. Fix the delay/ineffectiveness when clicking on buttons. It seems related to
when my mouse is moving/jittering as I click. But I can't afford to turn down
the sensitivity of my mouse. This problem does not seem to exist for
checkboxes, just buttons.

C. Please allow two color codings displayed for each player cf. one.

D. Have pod right-click give us an option to copy player's name to the
clipboard.

E. Speed control for the replayer. Or at least make the default a little
faster. Of course, remember what speed I last had it set at.

Doug, please reconsider bringing back Iron Man Plus. Regular Iron Man sucks and I think you know this too.

So basically, a bunch of people just lost RB% with this update, not to mention FTP now is keeping a greater percentage of rake per pot... FTP has to be the greediest company of all time.

What is Stars' rake method? Is this new FT one better? Is rakeback increased and stuff if you maintain black card status? I don't really get all of the new changes/not a math guy...

If you're a nit, you lost RB% even with blackcard, regular players get about same RB% if theyre blackcard, and aggro players are getting a nice RB increase. About sums it up.

probly not. nobody plays more hands just so they can pay more rake. the fish wont know/care. the lags liked playing lag before the change, and the tags wont put them selves in marginal spots just to get an extra fpp.

its the rakeback pro nits that will be hurt the most. **** em. everyone will benifit from them maby moving to stars. (but most of them r on stars already lol)

pleze dont take away iron plus. i get more medals from that then i do regular ironman.

Seems like a quality update. The new way of counting rake seems A LOT fairer and I really dig that you've finally made it more possible for SS HU players to get Iron Man etc.

It's actually not an increase at all. In fact, if you're a high volume player, regardless of your playstyle, you lost RB b/c you dont get bonus medals anymore.

Hi Doug:

1) Am I still going to get the ironman plus medals that I earned this month?
2) If I got 50k base FTPs this month, when will I get the black card?
3) What is the story with the bounced checks and delay in check deliveries?

THanks!

After an initial disappointment re the black card, it may actually be huge for us 6-max players with the new rake / ftp system in place. Will be interested once more number crunching has been done. Disappointment quickly turning into excitement.

New in today's update:

A. New FTP Calculation: It's been pointed out a few times in these threads that the way we awarded points favored the full ring player over 6-max, heads-up, and tournament players. They were able to "pay less" for each FTP they earned, and getting things like Iron Man every day was much easier for them than, say, a heads-up player.

Well, those days are over. Instead of giving 1 FTP per $1 raked (or 7 FTPs per $1 in tournament fees), the new calculation is this:

For ring game players, 10 FTPs are awarded to the *table* for every $1 raked and then divided equally among all players dealt into that hand.

So, for example, a 5 handed table plays a hand that gets raked $0.50. 5 points are awarded to the table, and each player dealt into the hand gets 1 FTP. Now a heads-up table gets raked $0.50 and the same 5 points are awarded to the table. Since only two players were dealt into the hand, each player now gets 2.5 FTPs (in the old system they would have gotten 0.5 FTPs).

For tournament players, instead of 7 FTPs per $1 in tournament fees, you now receive 10 FTPs per $1 in tournament fees.

One change that you'll be interested in because of this change is to the Iron Man program. The 50 FTP day is staying as-is, but because it's so much easier to get points now (5x easier for heads-up players!) we've increased the requirements for the 100 and 200 FTP days by 25%. So now you need 125 FTPs and 250 FTPs for those days. Keep in mind that for most players, it's actually easier to get 250 FTPs today than it was to get 200 FTPs yesterday, though.

For example, a $10 + $1 SNG player had to play 29 SNGs yesterday to get 200 FTPs. Today, he only has to play 25 to get his 250 FTPs.

I realize this isn't the biggest news of the day (although still pretty significant), but I had to mention it first because it obviously affects greatly the next item, making it fair to attain no matter what games you play...
I think it's dealt FTP's and cont. rb.
