it's pretty mindboggling that so many online pros still play on full tilt as their main site considering the game selection and infinitely superior security stars offers. their software doesn't even suck as bad any more either you people are pretty damn set in your ways

Re: FTP Answers 4/28

I haven't read through this whole thread to see if this has been addressed. Is there any chance of getting deep games and regular games grouped back together? This can only hurt deep games. When most casual players log on and are looking to play they generally just look for the first open seat, and the way things are set up now the first open seat will almost always be a 20bb-100bb table. This will leave deep tables filled with regs, and eventually people may stop playing them all together.

So just to be clear on what we want Doug, we do not want the deep tables "next to" but below the normal tables. If they are split up, with the deep tables below the regular tables, I think we may still have problems getting those filled. We would like either the deep tables mixed in with the regular tables or if this is not possible, the deep stack tables above the regular tables. I think it's possible we could get more deep tables if the deep tables were put on top of the regular tables, but it's not completely clear to me.

Rakeback and deep tables, and the software is much better in my eyes, and I play both sites equally.

Re: FTP Answers 4/28

Please keep the 100b and the DEEP tables in the same place. You have done nothing but made it more difficult for the casual player sit at them and perhaps that was a conscious decision.

I have to say as a business owner if I treated my customer base the way FTP chooses to treat it's I'd be out of business. I really don't get it.

I see month after month of requests by regulars that contribute a large amount of rake and the requests are met with "Coming soon". Yet someone decided it would be a good idea to spend time and or money ( IDK if you use in house programmers) to reprogram the lobby so DEEP, EDU and regular tables aren't mixed .... A feature that to my knowledge has not been requested (certainly not to the degree that a host of other items have) and serves to drive away your biggest revenue source, regulars.

Another valid question is do you actually have ANYONE that actually plays regularly giving input on the changes your making ie BETA testers for updates ??? If not your making a huge mistake and you should not be shocked by the responses you get.

I'm not a big fan of Stars ( personal preference not a slam) but I may have to consider playing there more.

thanks

There isn't an argument here... The best player at a limit is hindered by a shortstacker at the table, hands down. Simply put, you could play well and benefit from the shortstacker being at your table but ONLY at the expense of losing part or most of your edge against the other players at the table with the totality of the situation being an overall decrease of your winrate. Do the ****ing math.

While you are at it just ask for a seperate column for deep tables highlighted in ORANGE or PURPLE. That way all the fish would want to play on them. Friggin Priceless.

Re: FTP Answers 4/28

if you implemented these great Lobby Icons to tell us which tables are deep and which aren't, why the **** did you separate them?

the whole point of the icon is so it's easier to see which are deep if they are mixed with 100bb tables

PUT THEM BACK

Subject: I'm coming back! A few questions.

Hey guys,

I've played mainly on fulltiltpoker in the recent past after mostly
playing at Pokerstars for the better part of 2008.

I am however very unhappy with Fulltiltpoker, especially with their lack
of account security and more and more "my FTP account has been hacked"
threads appearing on the 2+2 forums.

I know you guys have that RSA token available but I believe it'll cost
some FPP's.

First question: How many FPPs will that token cost and how many hands at
100NL 6max will I have to play approximately to get these points? (I'm
bronze star right now obv)

Second and most important question: On FTP it is possible to log into my
account from a different location while the user is actually logged in
himself (a popup will appear asking if you want to grant permission for
someone else to log on)
For that reason I had my FTP client running 24/7 and also had to
purchase a third party software called FullTiltShortcuts, an AHK script
that, among other things, auto-denies the foreign log in request popup.

So until I get my RSA token I plan on having my account to stay logged in 24/7. Is it possible at pokerstars to log on to my account from a
foreign computer WHILE I AM LOGGED IN MYSELF? IF yes, is there a third
party software that prevents that?

Thanks in advance and once my funds clear from FTP cashout onto my
NEteller account I'm looking forward to come back to the only site in
the business that seems to care about their customer's accounts security.

Best Regards,

[MY NAME]
[MY SCRENNAME] (PS screenname)

P.S. I've seen threads on 2+2 in which ppl posted emails where you guys
compose Haikus for your customers. What about a "welcome back" Haiku for
me?

--------------------------------------------------------

Hello [MY NAME],

Thank you for your email.

While I have forwarded your questions to the department responsible for
these issues, I have decided to take on the heavy duty of composing a haiku
to welcome you back myself.

In the dead of night
wild clicks on 'do not allow'
[MY NAME] sighs sadly

Present in his dreams
is a world where miscreants
do not steal your cash

the smell of roses
brings a legend, mythical
but real, PokerStars!

[MY NAME] is content
nights spent in restful dreaming
tournaments await

I hope this will convince you that you are in fact welcome here.

Have fun at PokerStars and if there is anything else we can do for you,
please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Zandi D

Re: FTP Answers 4/28

OK I know all the cash players will have exactly zero sympathy but there are some problems with SnGs as well.

FWIW here's an email I just sent to Full Tilt:

Quote:

I am a multi-tabling SnG player (9-man NLHE Turbos) and have been experiencing the following problems since your upgrade:

1.) Periodic crashes when opening a lobby to sign up. About 5% of the time, when I open a lobby, the outline of the new window gets drawn but no text gets written to it, and then Full Tilt crashes. Windows Vista itself appears to stay stable, but I have to reopen Full Tilt, click "I'm Back" at all the tables, and deal with all the lobbies that are reopened. These problems are reducing my ability to multi-table.

2.) Auto-registration is flaky. If I bust out and then click "Yes" to open another tournament, sometimes it doesn't find a new one at all. Sometimes it finds a new one, opens the lobby, but doesn't open the registration window. Only occasionally does it open the registration window as well as the lobby, the expected behavior.

3.) Tournament summaries are sometimes not written to my hard drive, even after I bust out of all my tournaments and close the client. This was working 100% reliably before.

Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but the sort order appears to have changed in the lobbies. Now players whose names begin with a capital letter all appear first, before any that begin with a lowercase letter. Previously they were all sorted together. I don't particularly care either way but I wanted to mention it in case it's relevant somehow to the other problems.

Please either fix these bugs ASAP or consider rolling back to the previous version. Thank you.

Re: FTP Answers 4/28

What if FTP made it so the tables had a 1 BB min and you saw a bunch of players buying in for 1 BB at your tables? Would you then whine about it? Note that they literally can not be beat and you would 100% lose to the rake in a game where effective stacks are 1 BB.

Most real poker rooms have minimums much higher than 20 big blinds. I haven't played a ton live but when I played at Turning Stone it was mostly 50 big blind minimum (know it was $500 for 5/10, not positive about the lower ones). But online poker sites generally allow for people to buy in for as little as 20 big blinds. In a perfect world, this wouldn't be allowed to happen and online sites would impose similar rules as live casinos do. But they don't, and you know what most people don't even complain. Why is that? Because they have always had either 50 BB tables on Stars and deep tables on FTP. You now have a choice whether to play at certain tables that have that minimum. But here's where the analogy continues, let's stay on live play. The recreational player walks in and says "put me on the 1/2 list". A 1/2 seat at the deep table opens up, but instead the recreational player isn't given that seat because you can't see it from where he's standing, so he gets the first regular table rather than the first table.

Just mix them in, that's all we're asking. Leave the image, make sure it's clearly marked, I could care less about that. But when people go to get on a table it should be with the rest of the poker tables, not all the regular tables and then off down a hallway and past the slot machines just to get to the deep tables.

Oh and Andrew Song knows what's up, he's better than all of you combined.

This is what I do, with the exception of instead of having the password autosaved by ftp, I auto-type it with a program (still keylogger proof). This helps in case someone directly hacks my computer and then accesses my ftp.

Fwiw, with the rest of the provisions that you have, it really is enough. Most of the hack threads is because people were either stupid or weren't so tech savvy to know of these kinds of little things that go a long way towards being secure.

Still want RSA tokens obviously because of the way it works and it does significantly increase your security overall.

I dont know if anyone has mentioned it but since the update in tourneys when they switch your table

it also switches where the table is located

that is turning into a major pain in my ass

FTPDoug, is there any reason why the 90seat turbo KOs go to hand for hand with 11 left? It would be great if you could change it to go hand for hand when its 10 left. These are turbos and every second counts!
