I use auto-rebuy for when i get felted, but auto-top off doesn't meet my needs. Most of the time, i don't feel like thinking, so i buy-in pretty small if not the minimum (and if i do feel like thinking, i'll play MTTs/SnGs). However, once the blinds go past, i'll bump it up closer to 25-30xBB. I don't know if waiting to be on the Button to increase one's stack is good strategy, but it makes sense to me. I'm pretty new to NL Holdem ring games.

In other cases, if i see someone who i think will likely double me up, i'll increase my stack to around theirs. Because of all this, no auto-top off for me.

Regardless, i think most people use Get Chips much more often than changing their background or the emotion of their avatar. FullTilt should make the more common task the easier one to perform.

If you've run a streak long enough, the medals are worth a decent amount. Starting next month, i'll be getting $180 worth of medals per month if i make IronMan, which is pretty nice. Even for the people who get rakeback, that's still worth quite a bit...more than the $100 of Mid-Year Bonus. While i realize that for most people, the Mid-Year Bonus is worth more than the medals...the medals aren't worthy of derision.

In other news, i just got the Scottevest Fleece 5.0 Jacket (600 Medals, though i bought mine on sale directly from Scottevest). It's very nice if you have use for it...especially for travel or possibly using as a carry-all in B&M poker rooms.

All that said, i obviously still hope that the Mid-Year Bonus is still in effect.

I think I know why they're not currently running the midyear/year end bonus. It's not currently mid-year and it's not currently year end!

Meh, they always say that, but the Mid-Year Bonus **is** still listed under the Iron Man Promos page. Granted, it says 2008, but they routinely don't update this stuff until end of May/first of June. Besides, if they didn't plan on it, it'd been either removed, or the year end 2008 one would still be up, not the mid-year. I highly doubt they pull this. If they do, I'm sure it'll severely decrease Iron Man value enough for many people to move to Stars.

that would be messed up and piss alot of people off if they didn't run the mid year bonus in July. there would be a cataclysmic catastrophic exodus.

if you're not going to run it, fine, that's your deal; but you'd need to make that clear in January.

Yeah, it sucks that they leave you hanging on this twice a year, especially when you consider they must make a ton of rake off the small-stakes players who have to play much longer than usual to clear the bonus.

Idk if this was already suggested in a previous FTP Answers thread, but is there a possibility of buying tokens with FTPs? The $26 tokens are worth about 5400FTP (determined from the 1800FTP 9man SNGs, in which top 3 get a token).

Doug any chance we could be able to view the amount of Iron man points were earned on the present day in the cashier rather than having to load up the promotions page everytime?

I've asked the same thing. FTPDoug doesn't anticipate that this will ever happen.

Perhaps a compromise could be reached and they could make a Super Turbo version of that same SnG? I'm not going to sit through a regular 1800 FTP Turbo, but i would be willing to do so for a Super Turbo.

In the previous answers thread, FTPDoug said, "We have some ideas for this. It won't be any time soon, but I think we'll get there." My impression is that the database used for the IronMan points is maintained in a way that's not easily accessible from the application...though i may be reading too much into this.

yeah that is pretty sweet actually, but i think very few ppl make ironman. most ppl are bronze or silver. so idk what type or equity i get. i play NL100 and NL200, and feel like I am getting very little value from being silver each month.

Right, i conceded that the Mid-Year Bonus was the more important bonus for most people. Even at the IronMan level, it's not until the 25th month that the medals are worth as much as the bonus.

I'm just defensive about the IronMan medals because for us loyal pre-rakeback customers, it's the only thing that gives us an advantage over the newer rakeback crowd. With my playing habits, that IronMan bonus gives me better than 27% rakeback...though i'd prefer both...

When I try to order stuff from the ironman store it doesnt work. Don't know if u guys know about this. Please fix.

ever since the 4/28 update, the "better" high performance features have slowed my ftp program down completely. it lags very often, maybe like 30 times an hour, and I get disconnected a few times an hour. this never happened before this update. wtf!
