so my friend was asking me about a good poker site to play on, we are in the US. I am in a legal state while he's right across the border in NY, so was thinking playing from NY maybe the problem. Anyway when he asked why he was banned they just told him the judgement was finale and that he pretty much had no recourse. This really makes no sense to me since he only had played free rolls besides maybe one or two really cheap MTTs, like under one dollar cheap. I don't understand why they would ban him, he's obviously not cheating playing free rolls. He's a solid tourney player, a bit of a nit, but I really doubt he's playing GTO perfect poker, so I don't understand what they think is happening. I have been playing on ACR since 2017 with some pretty big breaks, all smalls stakes MTTs and have never had a problem. I have managed to keep a positive ROI all these years and am a winning player. Nothing huge but my chart is in the black close to 1000 bucks. I was planning on sending my friend who was banned like 5-10 bucks when I made the final three the other night in a PKO and would have some chips to spare. Luckily he tried to logon before I was KO'd and I didn't end up sending the loot since he was banned. Anyone have any clue what could be going on here? Why would ACR ban a player who had only played Free Rolls and .10-.50 buy-in tourneys, with money he won from free rolls be banned? No explanation, no one to talk to, no way to appeal. I would be very upset if this happened to me. I have always considered ACR my favorite site since black friday, mainly because of the amount of players and the different games.

No, not for several years now.
As for what happened, could have been a lot of things. Maybe there was something suspicious about his account. Maybe they thought he is linked to some other suspicious account. Maybe they think he cheated. The thing is, they aren't required to to accept business from anyone they don't want to, unless they're discriminating against him for race, gender, religion, etc. Sorry he had a bad experience, but I wouldn't be spending a lot of time on this if I were you or him, I'd just move on.

It’s so odd though. Banning an account that only plays free rolls, I just don’t get it.

Were you sent an email asking anything in regards to your account after your friend was banned?

Maybe they checked his address. You implied he wasn't playing from a legal state. Sometimes obvious answer is obvious?
