The pop up window to watch the spin needs some working on. Its very dark and it isn't clear enough what the player has hit.

Based on it now exceeding $400k jackpot, the 2 hitting close together was a bug not a feature

Worth playing every 12 hours again... SOON...

Congratulations! You have won a share of The Deal's progressive jackpot – as a result, we have credited your Stars Account with USD 5.30.

Take another shot at The Deal and see what else you can win.

Bink? Are you a shill or a 7 year old. 5$ prizes being handed out from a borderline illegal game offering in 2017 and people acting like they just won 1000$. I've heard homeless kids get more $ under there cardboard pillows from the toothfairy

Fix your sarcasm detector.

The $250k was shared by maybe 50,000 players. Compared to a LOT LESS back when it was Full Tilt only. So the $5ish was underwhelming.

But the chance of fewer players so a bigger share was mathematically impossible to ignore for the $0.14 per day participation cost. Now that the jackpot is $30k I am saying buh bye again.

PS not your place to judge what is significant -- not everyone has time or interest to profitably grind higher than microstakes bro. Eff Yoo.

Just downloaded a playing history audit, and tallied up my Deal Winnings for the month Looks like may have missed a couple of days and payouts, so a more dedicated Deal participant must have done even better than this

That's a better return than would tend to get with my usual 'button clicking'

Although it's sad times when The Deal has gotten more interesting than the poker on Stars - such a shame that the promos have gone South this year ...

Anyone know if it's at some point +EV to spin away on 70 coin spins to try and hit the jackpot? Only chasing the jackpot that is

I get it's a -EV game but at some point it should turn +EV to spin away all your coins if jackpot gets big enough

It saves you time, but EV-wise it shouldn't make any difference as hitting a straight flush (which would also allow you to spin the wheel) is 10x more likely than a royal, which equals the increase in cost.

I think the 70 points option is slightly better. Since two 1 in 4 shots are slightly worse than one 1 in 2 shot. I think it holds true across the board, but I havent done the math

In terms of variance? Might be. But EV-vice no difference.

So the ev is the same, but the probability of hitting the jackpot is slightly higher? This sounds counterintuitive. Maybe there is something I am missing.

It's 10 times more likely to hit a jackpot round with the 70 coins option, but you will also pay 10 times more, so EV stays the same.

If you play two 1 in 4 shot, you don't win anything 9 out of 16 times. If you play one 1 in 2 shot you don't win anything one out of 2 times, or 8 out of 16 times. So slightly higher chance to win. So based on this I think you are slightly more likely to miss playing 10 times for 7 coins compared to playing once for 70 coins. I wish someone would share the math

In your example, there's a 6.25% chance you win twice with the 1 in 4 shots, which equalizes the EVs presuming the jackpot stays the same.

In the deal, because we are dealing with such low probability events, the EV of winning more than once is basically 0, making the difference between betting 7 coins and 70 coins basically 0 in terms of probability of hitting the jackpot at least once (the EV wrt to the jackpot portion only is identical.)

By my calculations, if you spent 7000 coins each on either buyin amount, you will win the jackpot at least once:
0.1537894580% using 7 coin spins
0.1537905223% using 70 coin spins

*Note when I say hit the jackpot, I mean advance to the jackpot round.

Here I almost played The Deal twice a day in January, and a lot more during the 25th-28th because of the heightened jackpot. In total I spend 7,35$ on starcoins, got 1,85$ back during The Deal (almost always no win/1 starcoin/2 starcoins) and 15,65$ in jackpot participation winnings (ROI : 138%).

In february until now 2,31$ spent, 0,33$ return during The Deal and 9,01$ in jackpot participation winnings (ROI : 300%)....

Have couple of queries regarding the deal jackpot which I think the reps(or other members) here on this forum might be able to answer them (not sure about the support staff):

1) If I make it to the jackpot round and if I hit cash prize(eg $5k) instead of jackpot, does that money deduct from the jackpot prizepool (eg jackpot close to 100k, and if I hit $5k, does the jackpot become 95k?) I've never seen any money get deducted from the jackpot prizepool. If not then where that money comes from?

2) If the jackpot prizepool is $26k and I hit the jackpot, do I get 50% of the $26k or $50% of ($26k-25k) = $1k? Since the jackpot always start with $25k, I wonder how they manage to come up with $25k? Where is this money coming from?

3) Just now I saw a player on the table with "The Deal Winner" tag but no jackpot hit in the last 12 hrs.. so how come he got that tag? Did he win a big cash prize or something?

1. No the cash prize does not deduct from the jackpot.

60% of the money collected in gets payed out as non jackpot prizes.

2. You would get 50% of the $26k

The remaining 40% of money collected is split between the current jackpot (31.8%) and future jackpots, ie. the $25k seed, (9.2%)

3. I believe these tags persist until the next time the jackpot is won so what they indicate is the player won money from the last jackpot awarded.

Thanks for answering! Where do I find all these info?

The info is under the Rules section. I did some basic math to present it in a way that was more meaningful for answering your questions.

And I just realized I fat fingered my original post, the correct breakdown is:

60% - non jackpot prizes
30.8% - current jackpot
9.2% - future jackpots

I was playing some low stakes nl cap tonight with a Deal winner, he won $127k apparently. He was capping every hand, shared a few hundred around the table. Nice guy.

It's not available for me anymore. Is it just an error or did PokerStars canceled it for ever?

They released a broken update then removed The Deal on Windows clients instead of rolling back/fixing it.
