Hello everyone I am quiet new to TwoPlusTwo and I have a question and possibly someone here can help me. I received a check from Full Tilt Poker and I went to my bank and deposited my check. I've only deposited one check before which was from Full Tilt and the bank manager was helping me telling me I had to sign and put my account number on the back.

So I go and deposit my second check at the bank with my deposit slip and the teller put my check back threw and said I had to sign the back. I said don't I have to put my account number as well? She said no I have it here as she had my deposit ticket.

So then she gave me back my account balance slip and I realized it was off by some dollars and I don't know why I didn't mention it, I figured it was some mistake as the check or my past check didn't clear or my fiance deposited money. I go to the ATM and check and my balance was the same...different from the slip.


I go online and check to see if it cleared but there is no history of my second check I recieved from Full Tilt depoisted into my account. I called up the bank they said there is no history of the check being deposited.


So what should I do here? I don't have the receipt anyore showing my balance was off. I am going to the bank tomorrow and possibly they can check the deposit slips for that teller?

What other information should I get in order to find out where that check went? I was told try getting the check number and routing number from Full Tilt?

I know the teller pretty well and I'm sure she will remember me giving her the check if I walk in and ask her how come its not on my account.


Well any help would be great. What should I do?

It looks like the teller deposited my check that I signed into the wrong account and I didn't put my account number on that check. How can they track that check?

OP, do you still have your copy of the deposit slip? It should have a transaction number that would help the bank to look things up. It's also possible that your bank would keep a scanned copy of all deposited checks to protect themselves from fraud. Full Tilt should be able to get the check# from their processor, but expect a long wait if you have to go that route.

Well I derserve to wait for being so careless, I had the recepit showing a balance of which wasn't mine and left it on my counter to show a friend and ask them how can my balance be so wrong, I've lost it. That's what the bank was telling me because I believe it will have the account number for the balance it was showing.

I am hoping to walk into the bank the teller knows me and I don't know how she made this error as I deposit/withdraw funds from the same teller all the time. So I will ask her can she check my account and see where that check went and hopefully she might know.

Hoping that they also keep a copy of all the deposit slips for the past couple of days...

Yes it was not FTP fault at all I guess it was mine for not saying anything. I figured let me wait a day or two and hopefully it gets fixed.

Also my money is safe correct? I was told from a few people that it's the bank's fault for depositing the check into the wrong account. I gave her my deposit slip with my account number on the deposit slip and I signed the check. Also if that person did spend the money as the check cleared by now they would have to replace the money as it wasn't theres in the first place I read online. Basically, if you get money in your account that wasn't yours and you spend it you have to replace it.

So I just hope this isn't a long process and they can just fix it tomorrow morning. I have no information but to go there and just talk to the teller.

sounds like a problem with your bank and not ftp. if you explain the situation to them i'm sure they will be able to clear it up. make sure to bring your original deposit slip (if you still have it).

They have the original deposit slip as they keep it at the bank. The only thing I got back was a recepit showing my deposit and current balance, but the balance was wrong...it was more than what is normally in my account so I went to the ATM and my balance was what I thought it should be at. I went home to see if maybe my finace deposited money and I went to check my online statement.


I am just hoping they have a copy at the bank as I did this thursday they should still probably have the check.

i don't know why you are asking anyone here since this is clearly a bank issue.

if you need info from the check just pm me all of you personal and bank account information and ill get it straightened out for you

don't pm that information to anyone on the web and message boards.
this is an issue with your bank, you need to go talk to the manager at that bank branch to see what your options are.
you might want to contact ftp to see if you can get the checking account and the check number.

Ofcourse I didn't PM my bank information I was kidding.


Yes, I wrote Full Tilt for the check number and routing number but they havn't wrote me back on that for a couple of days.

Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not discuss with your bank that this check came from FTP. If you do that you could possibly be creating even bigger issues for yourself as your bank may refuse to take the deposit. You also could be jeopardizing the processor which obviously puts all future checks at risk. If the source of the check comes up be very vague. It was a payment for service, an online refund, you sold something on ebay etc. etc. No matter what though, it is not related to gambling, poker or Full Tilt. We all need to be very careful these days people.

I went to a check cashing place once and they kept asking where is this from I said it was commission that was owed to me. Then they kept asking is this your company? I have to call them etc...so I said just forget it and I went to my bank from now on with the checks I get.

What if they ask is this a company you work for? I am just going to say it was money that was owed to me and I got a check.

Yes good idea and the company that issued to check is just a third party processor and has no relationship to you.

Any reason you don't deposit to your account using an ATM and your bank card? Seems like a lot less hassle than waiting in line and dealing with a teller.

Just went to the bank with the same teller, gave her my information and told her the date and time I gave the check. She then realized she did deposit it into the wrong account and said that the problem will be fixed within 10 minutes. They had records of the depoist slip and check at the bank. Was Wamu if anyone wondering.
