Lee, do Cake plan to change the "glitch" in the software, where player notes stick to a player for life effectively making the change in username redundant. When i emailed Cake about this they told me that the software saves the player notes under the player name so when they change there username it isnt possible to see their old notes, which is obviously incorrect?

That is definitely not a "glitch" in my opinion. Allowing a player to change identities once a week and deleting player notes along with it would probably be the one thing that would make me leave Cake.

"Playing the player" is integral to poker strategy and if you end the ability of players to take notes and observe how a player plays over an extended period of time then you gut one of the most basic parts of playing poker.

Otherwise, why not do away with screen names altogether?

Quick question about Cake before I join. When you cash out can you do so back onto a debit card? And what is the minimum amount you can cash out?

Best regards,

P.S. I agree that we should have more colors for the player descriptions, and we probably shouldn't predefine what they mean.
Even more important than not predefining what they mean, have the colors show up in the lobbies. It's insanely annoying to avoid certain regular SNG grinders (by name) only to find out their screen name changed when the game actually starts.

It's already been clarified that notes sticking to a player is middle ground w/ not having a HUD. I like it this way b/c people will be rewarded for paying attention. If notes disappear, then so do reads which take time to develop.

I've sent them over four emails in the last two days. I sent them an email two weeks which was never responded to. I've been poking around here and people claim that Cake responds usually within 20 minutes - has anyone noticed a lag in responsiveness over the last few weeks? Or am I some sort of blacksheep who they're /ignoring?

IMO you should not be in this thread.

If you just go to the site and don't have an invitation to join, it can look unprofessional.

The more we talk about processors the less of them we have. I dont mean anyone in particular.

There is nothing wrong with it except the fees if you want to be picky. If there is a problem we'd hear about it right away I'm sure.

The most glaring problem, is that it isn't a secure connection. If someone is sniffing network traffic, which is pretty easy, they could pick up my password in plain text.

Mr. Jones,

I thought I would give you my reasons, as a somewhat higher volume but also typical player, as to why I am going to deposit with one of your competitors as oppose to Cake. I see no excuse for software glitches and transaction (deposits/withdrawals) problems simply because other poker sites have been without these problems for a very long time. I have been gambling on the internet for 8 years, starting with sportsbooks back in 2000. The operations that were able to handle money transactions smoothly were always superior in other aspects, the little things, and always stayed in business and prospered. The operations that, for whatever reason, couldn't, would screw you in every way they could and usually ended up shutting down suddenly while keeping all the money in the accounts. Heavy withdrawal fees, requiring the faxing of documents, and software problems that never seem to go away are all symptoms of an unreliable business not worthy of trust and, when you are talking about online poker, trust is key.

It is obvious the players in the U.S. want competition in the online poker business. In my case I refuse to play at full tilt because they won't give me rakeback. I get tired of stars and don't like their rewards program. So I am looking for a new site of have to rule out Cake due to lack of trust stemming from the feedback I have read. I suggest a complete overhaul. Get rid of the transaction hurdles, fix the software glitches, and the players will come. Spend some money to make a lot money.

That leaves you with AP/UB, Bodog and Carbon (other Merge skins). AP/UB are lying scumbags, I have no experience w/Bodog and Carbon has a small fraction of the traffic of FTP, PS and Cake. The one company out of those not named PS or FTP that I know for a fact has plans to improve to the point they can compete with PS and FTP, is Cake.

I have "Alerts only" checked and get NO sound upon logging on and sitting down.

To fix this at all my tables I click the dealers tray at ANY table, then "display", then "All".

After one minute, at ANY table I set the display back to "Alerts only"
and they work fine for that session at all tables.

on the onlypoker skin- I had a transfer feature when the account was first established a couple weeks ago. it's nowhere to be found now.

on cake poker itself in a recently established account - for some reason the "verify" button for the email does nothing. I don't know what additional features that allows me to access once I'm "verified"- but just letting someone know.

It's little things like this that will cause me to get apathetic quickly about figuring out a way to get money on cake/the network to play since I can just fill extra time on stars with ease.

I found it amusing how when I tried to cashout, I couldn't type any numbers into the amount box. For some reason it worked after I restarted the application but just goes to show how glitchy the software is. I've only played < 20k hands on there, but so far my ratings would have to be:

Software - D
Competition - B+/B
Traffic - B
Support - A-/B+
Cashier - B-
RB - B
VIP Program - N/A?

does this rating mean that the competition is soft, so it earns a B+/B for good players prospects?

or, does it mean that you are ranking cake players as B+/B in skill?
