Could you find a use for the gold chips for big volume players ? I will not waste time playing tourneys for 3 gold chips, so they are pretty much useless for me. Same thing for gold cards, Id like an improvement in these areas. Ty

And RSA Token please please please

Hi Lee,

I was reviewing some hands tonight and saw two small blinds posted and one big blind. Is this a bug? I have seen people post both small and big blinds when they join table first time or the big blind but never two small blinds.

Thanks.

Boon

Hmm, anyone having trouble on the 100nl tables atm. I was tilting, so jumped off ma tables immediately. Went to jump back on a few minutes later and it appears there are no 100nl tables running and my account balance is showing 0$ :S

Eventually I just timed out on all my tables and I had to use Taskmanager to force the program to close. The rest of my system functioned perfectly at all times and when I restarted the client that worked fine too.
I just had this one too. Was planning on a 5h session but only got 12 minutes in to it. It was a freshly started instance of the client (seems to fix most other bugs). Don't want to risk playing more until this is fixed.

I just got an actual cake from them. It says 'Happy Holidays Cake Poker'. Pretty good frosting, too.

IIRC there isn't a standardized cake they send out to everybody, but they get local bakeries to make and deliver them. It's a nice touch

One of the cool things about Cake is the job titles we have. I'm in regular touch with the Minister of Tournament Arts and Gold Card Banker. The confections are courtesy of the Senior Bakery Elf; I have passed along your appreciation.

This all makes "Cardroom Manager" appear downright pedestrian.

O grand Poobah and deliverer of answers,

Have you considered implementing a tiered rake system for small stakes HU cash tables? I know its standard to have it capped at .50 for all HU play, but the rake becomes absurd at anything below the 100 buyin level. Maybe cap the rake at $.10 for the 20 dollar games, $.20 for the 50 dollar games, $.30... and so forth up to the current $.50 cap. It is damn near impossible to overcome the rake playing PLO HU at the $50 level. What are your thoughts?

I'll try one more time, is there any plan on improving how gold chips are given to HU players? It took me $68 in contributed rake to earn 1 gold chip

Leeee,

Love the site. I saw you guys have a headsup table for O8 .05/.10... I play it occassionaly, but I was wondering if you ever planned on offering HU tables at the same limit for .05/.10 NLHE/Omaha?

This has happened to me every single night I have played. The software is simply horrible. It is hands down the worst SW I have ever played on, and I used to play at Pacific. There is no comparison. Cake's software is so bad as to be unplayable.

After trying them for 3 days, I really have no idea how they are in business.
I have to say that I have had NO problems with the SW for the last couple of weeks. I have not seen the "invalid session ID" and the client has not crashed a single time.

I'm not sure what was going on for the first 3-4 days, but since then I am happy with the SW.

Lee, will the new software still have the players listed as Bexxxx or whatever, seems silly considering that you can change your screen name weekly.

Hi Owen -
We haven't discussed this, no. But I'll talk to some folks about it. I can't make any promises of course, but we'll definitely have a look.

Again, no promises here - we didn't just randomly create the Gold Chips schedule. But I'll have a look at that too.

Yes - the hand histories in the new client will have the same anonymizing format for players other than yourself.

Maybe this system, or a system that rewards gold chips/cards at an accelerated rate on HU tables. I think there is a lot of opportunity with this in terms of volume, especially since an online HU specialist just won the ME.

Lee:

Three questions about the new gold stack rewards:

1. Do Gold Stack Rewards deduct from MGR for rakeback?

2. When you mention "Super Turbo (0-3 days)" and "Turbo (3-6 days)," what does that time span refer to? Number of days since opening your account? Number of days since earning the previous level?

3. Is there no deadline for achieving level 50? i.e., if I made enough gold chips to earn level 50 ten years from now, would I still get the reward for that level?

Thanks, Lee! By the way, I'm a FTP regular ($7K+ MGR/month) who is considering making the hop to Cake because of this new VIP program. I'd like the answers to these questions in order to calculate how much money I'd likely make and if it compensates for the diminished volume I'd get on your site (due to lower traffic and less multi-tabling).

No bonuses are deducted from MGR anymore.

2. When you mention "Super Turbo (0-3 days)" and "Turbo (3-6 days)," what does that time span refer to? Number of days since opening your account? Number of days since earning the previous level?

Each level can be completed on super turbo, turbo or regular. The bonus awarded reflects how fast you are clearing. If you complete a level in under 3 days compared to under 6 days the bonus you receive will reflect this.

3. Is there no deadline for achieving level 50? i.e., if I made enough gold chips to earn level 50 ten years from now, would I still get the reward for that level?

It was stated somewhere that you will never fall back on a level if you clear at least 3 GC that month. So if you were clearing the level 50 bonus you could potentially get to level 49 and then just collect 3 GC every month for the next 10 years to maintain the level before you actually make a genuine attempt of clearing it. If you do not collect the 3 GC you will fall back to level 10 and have to start from there again.

you should also check the chart where some 2+2ers have calculated the equivalent RB for the levels. I think it is either ITT or on some thread under the 'internet bonus' tab. It can also be found on BH I believe.
