My friend was telling me how he cannot beat the nl micros at cake and I am like dude..nl10/nl20 is piece of cake. So I depo few hundred and he is sitting here watching and wow.

I am down 6 bis and not one single time did I get it in ahead! I was like dang. What has happened has the micros become this bad. So I fire up my normal client--ftp and log in and open up 4 random nl25 tables and within few mins I am up 4 bis.

I did this a few more times on different days to see what the play was like but on all the occassions, cake was by far the TIGHTEST. Here are couple of plays that I saw that did not used to happen when I was coming up.

I am on B and 3 bet mp open w/AA, he tanks on cake and folds and shows QQ.

Another time, I am playing this dude lekke and he 3 bets w/88 from the bb. this is on the nl10 tables..lol.

no wonder everyone is leaving cake. It is not because of huds as ftp is MUCH softer but because its a nitfest.

cheers
Boon

This is somewhat true though, everyone is exteremly nitty on cake. Ive folded kk pf in the 50nl/100nl fullring probalby 20 times last 2-3 months to a simple 3bet of my open raise.

You aren't the only one to comment on this - there was the "Cake Poker: tightest site in the world" thread a bit back. It could just be that because nobody has a HUD they all just air on the side of nittyness?

Adjusting to the nittiness would be to open up your game and play the opposite style (lag) to profit the most. Just sayin.

33% rakeback and a bonus to work off usually leads to having 1/2 the tables full of rakeback grinders that hope to break even playing.

dunno, I'm not sure I can beat small stakes at FTP, but here's my graph at NL25 and NL50 at Cake:

And their MTTs are delicious, IMHO.

No, all of this bull**** about cake having a lot of fish is just that, bull****. If you want tables full of 10/8s where you flop middle set, get raised and seriously consider folding then by all means be my guest.

So you win $300 over 35k hands and then go on a heater over the next 5k hands. That graph isn't all that encouraging.

Foshan seems to be a breeding ground of Chinese super-shortstacking nit bots lol

Cake is great fun sometime. On one hand, I turned the nut straight while the villian had the idiot end and I end up stacking him. He started cursing at me and accused me of cheating. He said he was reporting me and that the security department will be in contact with me soon lol

maybe the kindle could read to you and you would learn more

sounds like the perfect game to just run 22/18 in full ring and **** on people's faces by raising them off all of their hands

This makes sense to me. If you aren't sure if the guy is a fish, you aren't going to go out of your way to play speculative hands against him.

Unless of course, you are convinced that you have *run bad* for 35K hands, and now finally, finally, your mad skillz are showing through.

It sure did kill the "HUD-bots are stealing my moniez!!!" posters off... We used to get nearly as many of them as we did rigged posts a year or so ago, but I haven't seen a single one since the "Cake Poker: tightest site in the world" thread got posted.
