Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Havent had any problems with bovada.

My only complaints would be the following:

If im using 2 monitors it resizes my windows across the monitors instead of using the main one. This is me more nitpicking.

Can't use mousewheel to change bet size.

Typing in the bet size requires me to make sure the current size is deleted instead of it being highlighted then allowing me to delete it by starting to type out the new bet size.

The amount of professional rat holers at 5/10 has been steadily increasing. Given the current rules of the amount of time you have to leave the table in order to come back with the minimum, it isn't difficult to see why this is happening. I know that these rules were made with recreational players in mind, but professional rat holing is bad for everyone... especially the recreational players. Given the current state of the games I think that some policy changes need to be looked at here. Please let me know what you think of this Bodog_Ice.

If I mark a player at my table with a color using the note feature, does it stay with the player if I see them the next day? Or is it just noted for that session and erased when you close the table?

This is a good post.

Short stack ratholers are bad for every one involved, the site and the games both suffer.

There is no reason to not correct this.

The solution is simple and standard. Dont let players come back to the table with less than they left with for a reasonable amount of time.

Problem with this is Bodog's programmers have proven time and time again that they are incapable of making simple logic decisions, and are unable to implement new features without breaking things.

What this means is that they would implement a change to not allow coming back to the table for 30 minutes, and then every time someone disconnects because of their crappy servers they are out 30 minutes instead of 5.

Your suggestion makes sense for a normal site, but I would hate to see Bodog take that and completely screw it up.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

They definitely havent been the greatest at implementing changes to their software, thats for sure.

There is zero reason someone should have to wait five minutes to get back on a table after a disconnect anyways. They can start by just scrapping that and allowing any player to return anytime with the money they had on the table the time they left. If they can manage it like you said.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

The intention of the rule wasn't bad. As we all know, some recreational players like to book a win and leave. Bovada just made it easier for them to rejoin the table quicker with a shorter stack 5 minutes later. By implementing this rule, which is completely unheard of in any other poker room in the world live or online, they unwittingly made a paradise for professional short stackers. Something really needs to be done. It is getting bad.

Actually they implemented the 5 minute rule because when they first released the anonymous software there was no limitation at all, and the short stackers had a field day of winning half a stack, leaving, and immediately sitting down again. That was before they had notes, so you couldn't tell if it was the same person or someone new. Sad to say, but the 5 minute thing was a huge improvement over what was originally released.

Every note you make in a cash game disappears when you leave the table. If your playing tournaments, it will stay with them until its over.

I couldn’t speak as to why it isn’t “thriving”, but different operators have different priorities when it comes to marketing their games. Also, some operators and markets are at different stages of growth. Having said that, to address the first part of your question, there is absolutely no segregation on the Bodog Network. All players that are on the network play together.

Please tell them they should add the "Card Game" option to the Scheduled Tournament screen. From time to time I still find myself accidentally entering Omaha tournaments, and usually when I make a comment someone says they've done the same. It would be nice just to eliminate Omaha variants as an option.
More filters? I'll pass it along.

Unfortunately, with something like this.. it is impossible for them to schedule at a time that would be great for everyone. However, I will pass along your suggestion to think about a different day or time for this.

Glad you like them. I'll let them know about how the payout structure differs slightly.

I'm sure there are several players like me who have no interest in playing either of those since the stakes are too small. So can you guys add a 6-max, either turbo or non-turbo, Limit Hold 'Em SNG in the $35+3 range? ($36+3 if it's turbo I think). Thanks for you consideration of this.
They are always up for adding games that they feel will run. I'll pass your suggestion along for a bigger lhe sng.

Cash game notes reset when the player stands up and are gone. Tournament notes stay until the tournament is over.

This is regarding the ratholers doubling up and leaving right away, then presumably coming back 5 minutes later to the same table with a min stack.

I have a few thoughts on this...for starters, despite what others have said, the short stackers are not killing the games. Rather, they are keeping them alive, and they are driving the action. Is it a problem that the short stackers double up and leave? Maybe, maybe not. There was a semi-famous short stacker on Merge a while back. He would min buy to 50NL-400NL and played a pretty transparent strategy. If he busted he rebought for the min, but if he doubled he immediately left the table and joined another. Thing is, he was a massive ($70k+) loser overall in those games. Do we really want to drive that type of player out of the game?

Ok that said, a solution would be to increase the current can't sit back for 5 minutes to 30 minutes. However, they absolutely have to fix the disconnect issues and the disconnect/can't sit issues before they even think about increasing this time. If they just make a change from 5 to 30, despite CS's insistence that none of the disconnect problems are on their end, it will kill the games.

Ice, if you have the ear of someone who agrees that the disconnect problems are on Bodog's end and aren't a zillion individual firewalls out there, then I would feel comfortable with you passing this on. But, if your contact(s) take the same line as first level support, where they insist there's nothing wrong with Bodog ever, then I would rather you not say anything at all about this.

Notes don't stick with a player since everyone is anonymous, correct?

That's correct. My comment about notes had to do with the fact that there was no way of knowing if it was the same player sitting or a new one.

You shouldn't have to wait at all to rejoin a table but make it so that if you rejoin within 30 minutes you have to come back with the same amount of chips you left with. I agree that I have doubts about whether they're capable of not screwing this up though.

The only thing with this is that with the anon feature, unless you put a note tag on each player, it won't be readily apparent if a player stands up and sits down again. Based on their stance about not wanting the fish to get eaten by the sharks, I'm sure one of the reasons for the 5 minute wait is so that you can't leave and immediately sit in a better seat.
