I know this may seem silly, but did you try rebooting after you installed? My audio, on one of my machines, did not work until it was rebooted. Many people rarely reboot their machines nowadays and just hibernate or have them go into sleep mode of some sort. I do the same, and did not have audio functional until a week later when I had to reboot for some other unrelated reason. Then, voila, I had sound...

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Hey guys,

I appologize if anyone has already posted these questions, but with my work hours I have little time to grind so I am trying to maxamize it.

1) Obviously I have found out no rakeback. Are there more bonus's I do not know about, I am currently getting the clubs week bonus.

2) I am a cashgame reg, and have found issues. Can I seriously only four table cash games?

3) What is with the cashgame lobby? It only shows open tables, so I literally have no idea if there are even games open.

4) Is there really no waiting list for cashgames?

5) Is there no top up in cashgames?

6) Where do you find the hand converter to track my progress to import into hem.

Thank you for your help and again I appologize if anyone has asked all of these.

Hi everyone,

Are there any secrets to typing in a specific bet amount? A lot of times when I try to type in a specific bet amount it will put the keystrokes ahead of the minimum bet, making the bet much larger than I want. Yes I make sure the bet amount is highlighted. Every once in awhile it will work ok.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also why is it everytime I add more chips in cashgames the auto post turns off. (really tilting)

How is it someone can win a big pot, leave the table and comeback with less than they were just sitting with.

This is for you bv rep. I just don't understand how these types of things are still happening with how long bovada has been running. They are very simple issues.

  • The lobby is very slow to update. It often shows tables as having open slots even though they are full.
  • On a similar note, I love to play PLO. Usually when I start the client I can only get in to 2 PLO tables so I just open 2 other NLHE to pass the time. All the sudden I noticed a PLO table open in the lobby. To join that, I have to close one of the NLHE tables. So I close out 1 of my tables, open the PLO table, and bam, it's already full. Now I can't sit back down at the NLHE table because of that rule that prevents you from rejoining a table. Why not do it like normal sites where they make you buy back in with the same amount of chips to prevent ratholing? Either that or fix the lobby so it updates quickly and you don't get up from a table only to find the other one full and cause you to lose your seat.
  • Time to act (especially pre-flop) is way too high. I don't know if some people are doing it on purpose or they have a slow connection or what, but if you get on a table where one guy is waiting 30 seconds every hand preflop before he folds it kills the table. Especially on a site where you can't play more than 4 tables, 30 seconds is way too much preflop and imo it should be much, much shorter, maybe around 10-15 seconds.

    I'll pass these along.
  • Why not make hand histories downloadable right away? HUDs don't work, it's all anonymous, what's the harm in letting us see our hand histories right after a session?

Because all hole cards are shown in the hand histories.

Overall I love playing on bodog. Even after they mangled the lobby, made it anonymous, and stole my rakeback away, I still play there. If these issues were addressed (especially the lobby), I think it would make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Anything offered would be under the promotions page on your operator's website

2) I am a cashgame reg, and have found issues. Can I seriously only four table cash games?

Yes. Four tables is the max for cash games and sit n gos. For tournaments, 20 tables is the max.

3) What is with the cashgame lobby? It only shows open tables, so I literally have no idea if there are even games open.

4) Is there really no waiting list for cashgames?

These two go hand in hand. The network decided it was best to hide full tables and have no wait lists.

5) Is there no top up in cashgames?

Not at this time.

Thank you for your help and again I appologize if anyone has asked all of these.

Known issue that I have passed along before.

Probably the most reported issue in this thread. It is being worked on.

How is it someone can win a big pot, leave the table and comeback with less than they were just sitting with.

There is a 5 minute wait period in place.. so a player can not get up after winning a big pot and sit back down at the same table with less money.

Thank you for your quick and good response. Are there any debates by the guys who decide what to impliment on showing full tables? I get why they would take off all full tables and waiting lists only if you could see player names. Obv many regs hand tables off, but the way its set up that won't happen. It causes many of us problems though when I get off work to grind at 4 am I dont even know if there are more than 2 tables running at certain stakes.

Also what do we have to do to get the attention of the site in giving us more than 4 cash tables. We have zero rakeback so we need more tables. Id even settle with 6. But with the random tables and no rake back anything nl400 and up is nearly unprofitable

The wait lists went away before the anonymous players. At that time, their reasoning made sense. With anonymous players it obviously makes no sense on it, but Bodog won't even comment on it.

As for the rest of your issues, they've been reported dozens of times over the last year, and Bodog hasn't done anything about them. Pretty safe to say that they don't plan on fixing anything.

The business model is not setup for people to try and make a living at low to medium stakes. It is not setup for mass multi-tabling grinders that dry up action.

It is more designed as a fun place for recreational gamblers to get action. I am one of those recreational players and I am happy to have this alternative. Why does it need to be like other sites?

This is literally the last site left that so far is paying out with few complaints. Not in a single statement of mine was I looking for anything close to the other sites. Just a bonus of a couple more tables, but if you think players like myself don't still have a big edge over the low stakes competition then your sadly mistaken.
All this site did was make it so the bad players are more likely to reload more money onto the site because the setup gives the appearance of bad players have a better shot at winning. Its just simply a mirage, they are still going to dump their money, just going to have less people such as myself grinding many hours in a day to make a weekly withdrawl.

What just blows me away are simple issues such as auto top up. I mean what a joke. You play heads up it can take you more than half a dozen hands to top up.

Worst part is until some head way is made in the legal aspect, or merge and revolution get their**** together nothing will be done on this site.

I understand your frustration with the current climate, presuming you are from the U.S. I also mostly agree with the conclusion of your post. But...

Bodog has made business decisions that make it more enjoyable for a less skilled player like myself.

I like the cash games being capped at 4 tables and the exclusion of a waiting list that makes table hunting more difficult. That decreases the chances that I will constantly find myself with 5 sharks. There is more action and I lose my recreational money slower.

I am voicing my opinion here so that someone speaks out for the people that do no want to see the table max changed to 6, 12, or beyond.

Agree on table max, it keeps the games juicier than some other sites. My contention is with the lack of waitlists or showing tables. It can be frustrating to try and sit at a table with a seat popping open and rushing to click reserve only to be beat out. When it happens few times in a row I usually open sng or jump on a table on a diff site.

Not a huge deal but you would think with the implementation of anonymous tables, allowing users to see what tables are running or even allow joining a waitlist would be ok.

What table hunting? I don't get that argument. The users are anonymous. If you feel you are being hunted, move tables. Other users don't know who you are.

To reply to your first point: I agree, it is annoying to click on a table and find it is already full. That seems to be a server lag issue that needs to be fixed. Some degens like myself don't care about the stakes so much, though, so I just click on the next available room, whatever stakes are open. If I have to click more than 3 rooms because it is already full I do get turned off.

Allowing waiting lists means that sharks could observe a bunch of tables to find their marks, possibly with software.

Nowadays most of us fish know we are being hunted and it makes us embarrassed, irritated, and generally turned off to poker, especially when it is blatant. Knowing we can't be found and targeted as easily makes the experience more pure, at least for me.

And that's exactly how they want it. Calvin Ayre's blog has put this sentiment forth numerous times.

Net withdrawing players are not their target market.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

As someone who has been playing on your site for 5+ years (tournaments only) there are only 2 items that are really annoying.

Fix the auto unchecking of fold/check buttons.

30 seconds is way too long to allow people to make a decision. I chatted with one player who says he takes his 30 second decision time every decision as he is more likely to min cash that way (he says he pays less blinds this way). I played a tournament with him and from level 1 he took his full 30 seconds every decision (even preflop folding), every street, every time.

One solution would be to give everyone 15-20 seconds but give them more timebank. If the idea is we want beginners to be able to think about their hand, then this solution works fine (just click the timebank for more time to think). But for those too distracted to pay attention and making the game less enjoyable for others (including casual players like myself) then this also solves the problem.

Thumbs up Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Bodog/Bovada Upgrades that are warranted within 2 weeks!!

Better tournaments. BOGGLES my mind their is no $100 dollar pl omaha hi low scheduled tournament on the weekend. OR a $50 dollar pl omaha hi low scheduled tournament weekly during the week their is enough hi low players to warrant this. Atleast a 5-10 dollar hi low rebuy with addon during the week at the minimum.. Its just common sense.

Also every other site has a series at the beginning of the year... where r you bodog/bovada? Biggest tournament 10k a night isnt cutting it anymore. It goes atleast 2k over gurantee every night averaging 300 players.

Bring Back nicknames it brings so much life back into poker. And noob players can still win the way the software is anyway so the fish will remain.

Turn off the chat filter or atleast make it reasonable. I can type ass with no problem but if i type whole it blocks it out. <-- ridicolous..

Half of the pre buttons dont work MAIN 1 being fold or call buttons before action gets to you.

20 seconds to play or sitout. to many players stall from the start of the tournament which i do not understand. It makes the player miserable for every player which in the end makes people not play on the site.

Lastly. Have a monthly survery opinion poll on bovada/bodog site where you have to login and you can vote on the most needed upgrades this way bovada/bodog can get everyones opinion and make the changes monthly which would increase traffic and make the site funner better and just nothing but PROS. you wouldnt hear anything negative anymore about the site.

Is anyone having trouble connecting with bovada right now? Keep getting stuck on liveupdate.ini. I thought the problem might be on my end so tried reinstalling, but when I visit the site it takes forever for the download to begin and then the transfer speed is nearly nonexistent.

Download/connection speed to and from any other website is working as usual so there is no problem with my Internet connection.
