Re: ***Bodog Poker Network Official Thread*** FAQ in First Post

Having the glitch at 25nl zone all night long. Table fills to 5 and then nothing. Happened over 5-6 times and had to exit and reopen each time having to buyin for only 100bb upon return. Think it is still happening to everyone at those stakes. Needs to be fixed.

I don't play on Mac, but I thought I'd pass along something that my friend playing Bovada via Mac figured out about the sound bug...

"If anyone else is having this problem, here's what you can do:

Disable Airplay Mirroring. Open the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities) and paste the following:

Code:
sudo chmod 000 /System/Library/CoreServices/AirPlayUIAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/AirPlayUIAgent
Then open up Activity Monitor and force quit the AirPlayUIAgent process. It won't be able to restart itself because we changed its permissions.

Disconnect from your Wifi network, reconnect. Your airplay devices won't show up any more. Restart Bovada and it should work.

To re-enable airplay mirroring, just change the permissions back in the Terminal:

Code:
sudo chmod 755 /System/Library/CoreServices/AirPlayUIAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/AirPlayUIAgent
"

Re: ***Bodog Poker Network Official Thread*** FAQ in First Post

Problem : The past few days the client has crashed after I clicked the lobby button during my tournament session. it doesn't do this 100 % of the time but seems to occur at least twice a session.
Not 100 % sure but it may have to do with after clicking lobby i also click the blackjack logo right under it and this causes the crash. i'd like the option to remove that as it takes up space and blocks cards from being seen (in PLO). so regardless of the crash issue please give us that option.

System : Windows 7

thanks.

Bovada please fix this bug ASAP, or else the community will think you are using it as an anti reg tactic to lower Tournament players' ROI by inducing tilt rage sandstorm 3000 moments. I know of course you are working diligently and furiously over at the offices, but others have started talking raging...

You can add me to the long list of people that have experienced multiple crashes (3 so far) in the last couple of days when trying to open a tournament lobby.

I like the suggestion. I'll pass it (as well as the bug issue) along.

I'll let them know, thank you.

Can you please the explain decision behind making us manually reopen every table whenever we restart the client after a crash, power outage, etc I do not know a single player recreational (I happen to know many!) or professional who does not HATE this with all their heart. You lose power, the client crashes, you suffer a lengthy internet problem w/e you finally get back and now you have to manually open 8 games while your short stacks are in the process of going from short to non existent! Bovada does not gain anything from this, only lose by angering customers!
I know that they are working hard to get these bugs fixed, but I am not privy to any sort of timeline.

I was able to duplicate this a few times.. I took a video of it and sent it to the network, so they are aware of the issue.

Bodog Ice,

your response seems to indicate it is ok:

However, the email response I got from Bovada seems to say otherwise:

In line with your inquiry about using a Hold'em indicator, we'd like to inform you that we don't allow such application or software to run together with Bovada Poker. According to our Terms of Service under 6.3. No Player Assistance Programs: Use by players of external player assistance programs ("EPA Programs") which are designed to provide players with an unfair advantage over their opponents are expressly prohibited. We define EPA Programs as including computer software and non-software-based databases or profiles (e.g., web sites and subscription services) and we consider access to or the ability to gather data or information on other players by any means that would not be accessible via their own first-hand experience (i.e. observation of game play) to be "unfair". We reserve the right to close Accounts and void any and all winnings in such Accounts if we establish, in our reasonable discretion, the use of an EPA Program.

That says the same thing as Bodog_Ice...

What it is saying is that the program cannot help you in any way that you couldn't help yourself.

Technically, you could do what Hold'em Indicator does by hand with a piece of paper and a pen. It would be tedious, and hard to keep up with, especially for more than one table, but since it is *technically* possible, the software meets their TOS.

An example of software that violates this TOS would include any software that shared data with other players. This is probably not an issue on Bovada, as anonymous tables limits the usefulness of database sharing. But that is what they are after here.

Also, while this isn't explicitly covered here, any software that plays for you is in violation of the TOS.

I hope this helps clear up your question.

Re: ***Bodog Poker Network Official Thread*** FAQ in First Post

Was unable to rebuy with no lag whatsoever, on a computer I use for doing architectural models...let's just say it's a real powerhouse. I was of course booted from the tournament...

I emailed customer support (I had other tables running with NO LAG) and they claimed it was my computer or internet connection. They then suggested that I hire somebody to "clean out" my computer for me, because the program uses so much of the CPU (...).

Really?

I'd agree with your analysis, but the first line of the CS response is then incorrect:

I think their CS agents, or at least this one, needs a little guidance here. Or if what this CS agent said is correct, they should make their TOS more clear.

I think this may be a language barrier issue.

I think they mean (emphasis mine):

Of course, I could be wrong. It could just be that the CS agents don't know anything about any individual piece of software, and just by default say that you can't run *any* program with the Bovada software.

But in my personal experience chatting with Bovada reps including Bovada_ICE here... I get the impression that any software that you *could* use on Stars, you can use here.

YMMV

Whenever this happens you have to restart your computer. It is the most annoying thing in the world and Bovada needs to fix it immediately.

Re: ***Bodog Poker Network Official Thread*** FAQ in First Post

Its all planned people. Don't you see that this is part of their anti reg policy? They are trying to curb multitabling MTTers, while at the same time lowering their ROI, thereby lowing reg's cash out amounts. It's so obvious. When ever there is an update that changes NOTHING, yet changes the effectiveness/quality of the client, it is the anti reg policies! Do you think they don't know or aren't capable in fixing their client bugs? Or anything else about their software? Stop being so naive people. There is nothing we can do except take steps in not freezing the software. Such as, not changing seats as soon as a table opens. Not opening too many lobbies, not moving tables around when lobbies are updating, or tables are being changed. Also talking about their motives as if they are caught red handed can't help their brand. Then maybe that will motivate them, but whenever regs are frustrated in the forums, their plan is working perfectly in their green eyes. Call me crazy but what else can it be?

Ice,

Is support aware of the longstanding hand history load time problem? I'll understand if it's one of those things that's low on the priority list for things to be fixed, but I'd be curious at least to find out what the technical reasons are that hands often take longer to load than the actual time it took to play them.

Gracias
