Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Does bovada have any type of security team? I emailed them about possible collusion to have them look into it and, they responded with "we will look into seeing if these players are stalling" like wtf where do they put stalling and collusion together? I sent this email with the tourney ID and the players in question 6 days ago and still no response. Pretty absurd they don't even look into this or even have anyone in their support that is competent enough to take a look at this.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Thank you Ice for addressing our concerns. I have one for you regarding late registrations in satellites. Forgive me if this has been addressed before -- I searched but didn't find anything.

Bovada should reconsider its extended late registration policy when it comes to satellites. I was one of four players left in a satellite this weekend that paid out two tickets and some cash for third. I was fairly short stacked, but comfortably in 2nd with two short stacks out there. So I had a lot of equity in the prize pool and was adjusting my play accordingly.

But even though we were on the bubble, no fewer than nine new players registered over the next few minutes. Even though they all bought in as short stacks, and now there was an additional seat in the prize pool, the original players' equity was completely upended. Suddenly there were 13 players, none of whom (even the original players) were particularly deep. The tournament quickly devolved from one where we could exercise some level of strategic bubble play to a total see-who-can-hit-the-flop jam-fest.

I understand why Bovada wants to extend late registration times. But when it impacts the integrity of the game and negatively impacts the players who choose to register on time, that's a problem. Please consider modifying your policy to close registration as tourneys approach the bubble.

Thanks - m_x_b

The tourney has tripled in size on most days and quadroupled on others and takes about 90 minutes longer to complete. Too long for me to bother. Noticed a few others that were 30 minutes are now at 65 as well

Noticed this right after the 4.15.01 update.
Probably to be more in line with the late registration of most other tournaments, but I am speculating there.

There have been a few people with mac issues.... I know I request it often, but if you have software issues (any sort of issues), please try to take a screenshot when it happens.. pm it to me along with a quick description of what the problem is. Flood my inbox if you must

Not quite sure.. but in my experience, if it is just the 3rd number that changed (the .04), then it is just small back end stuff. I'll ask about it to double check.

There absolutely is a security team in place, but apologies if support seemed to have incorrectly replied to your email. However, please keep in mind that they do not comment about on-going investigations.

I will pass it along, but I do not foresee a change as it is completely standard to have a late registration for nearly all tournaments.

Thanks Ice for the fast reply. Just want to clarify -- I have no problem with late-registration in general, satellites or otherwise. But tournaments shouldn't allow people to "register into the money" (or close to it). Registration should cut off at some point approaching the bubble, regardless of whether there's still time in the late reg period.

Let's take the satellite example I described above (four left, two seats, 3rd gets cash). Let's say another guy busts so that three remain -- we're all "in the money" (either seat or cash) but the tourney continues. Then more players register -- and suddenly the original three are no longer in the money. That's a HUGE problem. You should never be pushed out of the money once you've survived the bubble.

Theoretically, this could happen in non-satellite tournaments as well.

Please fix this. I like Bovada despite its issues, but this may be the tipping point that prompts me to move my money elsewhere.

thanks again for your quick reply. - m_x_b

I was always wondering if top 3 pay and you take 3rd do you get money if someone late registered? I am guessing no but you officially took 3rd. Or in another scenario the tournament finishes but late registration is still open. Is the winner just sitting there waiting for more people to register?

Do any non-Vietnamese here play Bodog88 from Vietnam? I cannot even get access to Bodog88.com without a proxy server or vpn from Vietnam.

And foreigners need to show proof of source of money if you have a bank account, so it is basically impossible to withdraw from Bodog. How do people get around this? Source cannot be poker, since gambling is illegal (with a few exceptions)

The issue you are talking about can't happen. If people get into the money before late registration is scheduled to be over, then late registration closes.

So a satellite that pays 3 seats and 4th get $27.. late reg still has 11 minutes scheduled. 5 left.. chip leaders AA > the shortest stack's KK. So now there are 4 left, and now late registration closes. 4th goes out.. gets $27 and the remaining 3 get seats.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Can you play on bodog in mexico? I have a bovada account in the usa and couldn't play it in canada. I didn't open a bodog acct in canada but i probably will when i get back there.

I assume bodog account in canada would be allowed in mexico?

Also for those of you with bodog accounts, is it basically canada and mexico only or canada? I read ppl say bodog isn't allowed in europe and the other continents and its only canada and possibly mexico?

I know bodog88 is in asia but can someone tell me about the player pool? Do bodog players in canada share a player pool with bovada players? What about asia's bodog 88?

So the only restriction for bodog is just europe and every where else in the world can play and its bodog there?

Also what currency do most of you use since they dont allow USD? Is basically everyone using CAD in canada and mexico?

Also bodog doesn't do any ewallets. If thats the case, how do you guys get bigger amounts there? I checked that in canada you could do interac deposit but isn't the limit just 1k?

Thanks Ice. It's good to know that the late reg will cut off once the money bubble breaks.

Still, enabling new players to register right on the bubble is really unfair the the original players as it crushes their equity and undermines strategic play. Please rethink this policy.

Anyway, I've said my peace. I'll let this simmer for a little bit then come back to talk about synchronized breaks...

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

I made my first withdrawal by check and was thrilled to get it by federal express in less than 10 days. I am in Florida. unfortunately while trying to deposit it at chase atm, it was rejected because it was foreign.

I could try having my wife deposit it as a two party check at BOA or try putting it in my business account with a small local bank (i had tried that several years ago with another canadian check and was charged a significant fee even though it had a U.S. bank routing number). There is also a local amscot where I had to register to accept western union transfers from costa rica.

any suggestions what to try next?

Does your bank have a door that you can walk in, and people you can talk to?

no harm in trying, bovada does recommend atm deposit though, probably to avoid questions about the source. no need to suggest what to tell them, i think i've got it covered.

I also live in Florida and, while i don't have a business account or errand-running wife, I was able to pull off the walk-in-the-front-door maneuver at my bank. They smiled, said hello, and deposited the check. Try that...good luck!

I've heard it both ways, so I would like some clarification. I have heard you can only have one payment method processed with in a 7 day time frame, and then I have heard you can have each of the 3 methods once in a 7 day period, which is it? Also is it just me, I can not overlap games on Bovada, is there anyone else with this problem. Alot of the time, even with it enabled the other screen doesn't pop up, it would be very nice for multiaccounting different sites if I could.

Make a bit of an effort and come back with your results and any questions you couldn't find answers to.
