Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

bodog/bovada really needs to fix the "disconnect and boot you off the table instantly" issue with cash games.

i was grinding 4tables and playing quite well....for some reason i had like a 2second blip were i was "disconnected" but was able to re-connect instantly. nonetheless, i was booted off of 3 of my tables and the only table i was able to continue on was the one where i was in a hand (aka, it gave me 30 seconds to reconnect). i also lost all of my notes on the players which were extensive.

basically, what needs to be done, is they need to give you 30 seconds to reconnect to ALL tables whether you are involved in a hand or not. this whole business of getting booted off instantly when you disconnect for TWO SECONDS is just borderline ridiculous. it's also not fair because you have to post blinds on all those tables and if you don't get to see a full rotation you're potentially giving away up to 6 big blinds every time this happens....it happens far too frequently and makes me want to move my bankroll elsewhere sometimes.

Doesn't seem like there would be any downsides to having them as early as possible though, right?

I would love to have satellites for the wsop prelims, as would many others here as we heard at some point in the thread. All we know is that bodog ice has passed on the suggestion, but we have no indication yet of whether they will do it.

And i agree, there doesn't seem to be much downside to starting them early. April does seem a bit on the late side to be kicking them off, so i'd love it if they got going sooner. I think the year i won a main event package on ftp (sick brag ldo), i won it in like march, and the satellites had been running for a bit before that already.

I had this happen to me today. I was getting doomswitched so I don't think that event could have tilted me anymore than it did. Probably saved me money though. Maybe it's a fail-safe in the code where they only doomswitch you for so long before you get booted. I was too pissed to start any other tables back up. This ****ing site. There's enough gimmicks where if you're running bad it's unbearable.

And the note thing pissed me off too. This is the only site I've taken notes on and I basically use them for placeholders so I remember who's who at each table. So when you get booted from the table there aren't enough cuss words to properly express your hatred.

Downside? Yes, if Bovada is not awarding an unlimited number of entries, then why have them all spoken for months before the WSOP? That would be sort of anti-climatic.

Want to congratulate Bovada on your awesome software. Won a seat to the $55 PLO8 tournament but instead of closing the tournament out it went to the 5 minute ****ing break and even then it would not close out the O/8 sat. until another player was knocked out. Took 12 minutes for this to happen. Of course I emailed support and didn't have a clue what I was saying because..... common sense.

Request:

Make the default buy in for cash games 50-60 bb's and not the min buy in. The 25nl games are infested with people buying in for $7.50, and a lot of it probably has to do with $7.50 being the default (player just hits "sit" and then "ok").

Id be shocked if this ever happened at Bovada.

But since we are requesting pipe dreams, make the min buyin 60bb or more please.

Oh, and auto rebuy and points for cash please.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

I wanted to use this thread to ask any of the poker players who run Bovada on a MAC if they are experiencing the same software issues that I am. So the main issue that I have is the software begins to lag drastically and hands begin to fold before I even have a second to make a decision. I notice this software lag increases tremendously with the more tables I have, but more specifically when I pull up cash tables or super turbo tournaments. Today with a large sunday tournament schedule I had around 12 tables going at once and the software lag was just ridiculous, the cards reaching players hands would lag, antes being pulled into the pot would lag and my timer would not move it would just simply stay at 30 seconds but than fold my hand without warning. Other times I will maybe be playing 4-5 tournaments/tables and the lag will begin out of nowhere, but if I close the software and re-open it the lag is gone. It really is frustrating when you are the person holding up the games and your hands are constantly folding without warning and the lag is just stressful. Do any of you experience this lag on a MAC w bovada poker from too many tables or notice that cash tables slow down the software too? In terms of my internet and computer specs I'm getting up to 60mbps from the internet provider so thats not the issue, my mac is a little old but I run other poker softwares such as carbon with 0 lag or issues. Here is my computer:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

Let me know if you guys have any of these same issues or if there is any information I could provide to maybe help this. Thanks all!

Which of the following countries are you able to play from?
-Germany
-Phillipines
-Brazil
-Fiji/Tahiti

I hate America and will be moving to one of those(if I can play from there) very soon.

Is it permitted to play bovada on more than one computer at different times on the same IP? What about 2 different accounts on one IP? My roommate wants to make an account with the same address and using the same IP as me.

If you're leaving the country why would you play on Bovada when you have much better options available? Play on Stars, FTP, etc.

I think we can all agree that Bodog is ridiculously soft. I'm from the U.S. as well, how does the competition on Stars, FTP stack up against Bodog? Obv you get rakeback/VIP on those sites but I would have to guess the games are much tougher.

Bovada is the nuts. I only play poker for money. I say no to struggling at the micros and yes to super crushing mid stakes.

I would def email support.

That way if it is allowed you can get it in writing in case you have issues later. Perhaps that might be useful.

Personally, I would never play on the same site with multiple accounts from the same IP or computer or even play at a friends house.

Best case scenario is they allow it and you never have any issues with their security flagging you for using the same IP, but you are forever responsible for everything your friend will ever do at Bovada. If he ever screws them out of one penny, has a friend that screws them out of a penny, or accidentally gets accused of screwing them out of a penny, you lose every penny in your account.

This.

It never strikes me as a good idea to rely on forum advice when it comes to things like this - better to have it in writing from the site. And if they've OKed it, they might make note of that on your account and save you future security checks.

But as 5thStreet has alluded to, even their approval doesn't leave you free and clear of all risk. Proceed with caution.

I'm sure it's been asked but couldn't find a clear answer: do bodog and bovada have the exact same playerpool?

also can you play poker there as a German?

Thanks

None of those countries. Bodog88 is only going to offer poker to China and Vietnam and has already kicked off players from Aus, Taiwan etc.

I wonder what % of their customer base is made of U.S. players? I'd have to think @ least 50% and I'd say greater than that. From what we're saying Bovada/Bodog is only offered in China, Vietnam, U.S. and Canada.

What happens when U.S. becomes regulated market? I know Calvin Ayre is one of the most wanted men in US but this makes me think they're in cahoots somehow. I don't know the logistics but why cater to mainly US in the given environment? Not to mention check times have been ridiculously quick as 2-4 days.

Just thinking aloud. Knock on wood Bodog/Bov isn't shut down when I wake tomorrow. Flame away.

Americans love to bet on sports, this is the reason to target the US consumer.

Poker is a side project at Bovada.

There isnt anything different in the environment than there was twenty years ago with regards to running an internet sports book. It has always been illegal under the wire act.

As far as Bovada having a deal with the US government, thats just silliness. They just dont care what the US government thinks so they just keep doing business. That is their secret. They have been criminals for over twenty years in the eyes of the US government and will never be included in any licensed gaming. No one involved in their ownership will most likely ever walk safely in public on US soil without fear of prosecution so what leverage does the US have to make them quit now?

I guess the point Im trying to make was that UIGEA didnt effect Bodog like it did poker sites. Nothing has changed for them. Sure they run a risk of banging heads with the FEDS but they have since day one.

That doesnt mean that they wont leave the US market tomorrow, but their situation is much different that PS for example fwiw.

It's not like he's living in the US. Also "one of the most wanted" is a huge exaggeration. Yes, he's been indicted. But he's not on the FBI's most wanted list, and he doesn't appear anywhere in Interpol's database of 284 wanted people.

Because catering to people that can freely use Pokerstars or other online sportsbooks would be a lot less effective.
