Fastest payouts
No datamining
Good tournaments daily and weekly
Good customer service and support

has anoyne ever had problems downloading and installing the bodog software? i used to play on the site and had an old version installed. since the last time i have played i moved to europe (orig from canada) and i have been unable to setup the software on my lappy. when i run the installer and it goes to download additional files it always craps out around 80% complete.

support so far has been unhelpful. i have uninstalled and deleted the previous bodog stuff from my lappy and use windows 7. any help would be greatly appreciated.

When it comes up where to install the software I would make the folder Bodog Poker2 instead of just Bodog Poker and see if that helps.

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

something has to be done about the timebanks. Getting 30 seconds to act on each hand + a 90 second timebank in a 10$ tournament is absolutely absurd. Completely kills the structure. Regardless of buyin, should be 10-15 seconds MAXIMUM to act on each hand and a 60 second timebank for the entirety of the tournament save for maybe the 162$ 100k on sunday.

It is really pissing off recreational players who want to play poker but instead only get to play 3 hands in a 10 minute span when we're approaching the bubble of a tournament.

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP

Re: *** Official Bodog Network Support Thread ***

Alright as promised, an update on your cash game suggestions. I will repost the few things I had written before, in case anyone had missed them:

-Change the table so that you can sit back down w/in 5 min with same stack: This won't be changed at any point in the near future as this is the way network will be combating rat holing as well as people standing up and sitting back down in order to erase notes.

However

Why doesnt the software, like all other sites that I am aware of, simply sit someone out if they disconnect? This is usually for a period of at least 5 minutes before you are actually booted off a table.
This is something that they are going to look into but that is all I have on that for now.

-Raising the min buyin: Also something that won't be changing anytime soon. The network raised the min-buyin from 20bb to 30bb last year and this is what they are comfortable with at this time.
-Tables popping to the front is high on the list and there should be a fix for that very soon.
- Preferred seating is also being worked on now and should be available in the short term future.

Things that are being looked in to: Wait for big blind, changing the slider, the sit out next big blind box being grayed out.

Bugs that I was able to bring to their attention/Issues that were known and are being worked on: The auto post blinds being unchecked at times, text in chatbox disappearing after you click anywhere, the add chips not working correctly, the lobby not sorting correctly when there is a mix of limits, and the lobby not sorting by 6max/9max.

Now.. as far as your questions about the 3rd party programs:
First I’ll start by saying that the Bodog Network will not comment or on, nor will they support, any specific program, and I will post the official rule regarding programs:

No Player Assistance Programs. Use by players of external player assistance programs ("EPA Programs") which are designed to provide players with an unfair advantage over their opponents are expressly prohibited. We define EPA Programs as including computer software and non-software-based databases or profiles (e.g., web sites and subscription services) and we consider access to or the ability to gather data or information on other players by any means that would not be accessable via their own first-hand experience (i.e. observation of game play) to be "unfair". We reserve the right to close Accounts and void any and all winnings in such Accounts if we establish, in our reasonable discretion, the use of an EPA Program.

Now I know you guys would like some clarity on that… the best I can do is tell you that the network will not comment on any specific software, but any information that is being gathered for use of that session only, by the player.. and is information that could be tracked via pencil and paper.. can be used.

Another change to be on the lookout for very soon: All regular speed and turbo guarantee tournaments with a buyin of less than $30 will have at least a 3000 chip starting stack. The only exception to this will be the $7.70 $1,500 gtd at 12:15am est, this will remain 1500 starting stack.

I should have some feedback on the mtt/sng suggestions soon. After that I will start up the next suggestion post. If there is anything that has been mentioned in the thread that I haven't addressed,or if you have any more ideas, please let me know.

As Cobalt pointed out, there will be some changes for the turbos, super turbos, and hyper turbos:

- One change that will be happening, hopefully as soon as next week, the network is responding to your feedback about the amount of time players are taking to act in turbo, super turbo, and hyper turbo tournaments. So once that is implemented, here will be the new times:

* Players will have 15 seconds to act every time the action is on them, instead of 30 seconds as it is now.

* Your time bank for the entire tournament will only be 30 seconds, rather than the 90 seconds that it is as present time.

If there is more demand for shorter time banks in the regular speed, I can pass it on.. but I obviously can't guarantee that they'll change it.

Sorry my thick skull, but being able to sit down 5 mins later with a smaller stack IS ratholing. Am I missing something?

I guess... yeah, they are still rat holing. I suppose I should say it's combating people from standing up and sitting back down immediately with a smaller stack, as was possible before.

I can understand the 5 min rule to prevent people from leaving/coming back to delete notes. It's a good rule.

Doesn't make sense to allow you to rathole after 5 mins. The stack size should stay with the player for 30 mins or whatever. Seems easy enough to implement.

The real problem is when people get disconnected and can't sit back down. Or like the other day, I sat down on one seat, didn't even get to post a blind, then another seat opened up in a better spot (closer to blinds, better area on the screen), so I got up and tried to sit but it wouldn't let me. I didn't play a single hand or post a blind, but because there's no actual logic behind the programming, it just blindly refused.

Bodog has had a history of blaming people's internet connections, firewalls, and whatnot for their own issues, and I believe it will continue with this. Worse yet are the people who get disconnected due to ****ty server code while in the middle of a hand then come back and can't sit back into their own seat with their own stack and hand in progress. Bodog's stance always has and always will be too bad, check your firewall, go play somewhere else if you don't like it.

Without beating you up too much, thanks for the follow-up and the posts here. While I don't agree with their stance towards third party programs (i.e., they refuse to take a stance and are purposely vague), at least we know where we stand as players.

I had this wrong.. for now this is only applying to hyper turbo and super turbos mtts. Turbo and regular speed mtts will remain as they are. This change has already been put into place.

Is HI the only 3rd party program working right now? I thought I heard mention of another a month or so back, but can't remember what it was.

He did answer it. You have to read it though. Any software that gathers data you would be able to theoretically gather with pen and paper and records only session data for other players is allowed.

HI is allowed. I hope HEM will follow suit, they do something similar with Cake now.

I don't need HI, I play SNGs so I have to pick up on my opponents tendencies as quick as possible by observing the table. I do go over hands in the HH to study and look for my leaks.

What is the micro PLO traffic like up to 50PLO? Poker Scout isn't accurate and Bovada isnt showing me much because they are either full or not running.

MTTs only and not SNGs I assume? I'm in a super turbo SNG now. On the first hand the first to act disconnected and we got one hand in until the blinds went up. Time banks are a full 30 seconds per person per turn.

As far as I know.. it is only for mtts. I will ask about sngs and see if that's the way they intend to keep it.

30 seconds per hand is too much in regular speed MTTs too. Nobody needs that much time. It is absurd. There are actually a few idiots who use their full 30 seconds every hand from the beginning of the tournament. (Back when we had screennames the biggest offenders were snowbear and jjp something. I'm sure they're still out there screwing up tourneys for everyone else by stalling every single hand.)

I see a ton of satellites to the BDPO Main Event, but none for the Second Chance. Will there be any sattys to the Second Chance running today (Saturday)?

BTW, the change from 1500 to 3000 chips in the smaller daily MTTs is absolutely awesome. Thanks so much to Bodog for listening to this suggestion.
