There still seems to be just as much of an issue getting randomly disconnected from tables whether it's 1, 2, or all 4, and the inability to reconnect to those tables. Often times for me my internet seems completely stable and it is solely the Bovada tables that are 'losing connection'. There seems to be two problems, one that it's either the software and/or the servers causing the tables to disconnect, and then also the failure to reconnect to those tables. The issue really should be addressed.
Reconnecting is the big one for me. Disconnects happen, they suck, but they are just a fact. But the way disconnects are handled in the software (cash tables anyway) is frustrating.

1. You get the message that you are disconnected and please try to connect again. - Ok, I would do that if I knew how. There is no reconnect/refresh/easy button. Restarting the lobby is the only way to force a reconnect attempt and then you are kicked off your tables.

2. If disconnected and you then get reconnected, you cannot rejoin the table. You get the "sorry, wait 5 minutes" message. - It would be great if some logic were put in to detect that we left the table due to a disconnect and override that message. I want to rejoin those tables with the stack I had, no rat-holing, I just want to still be deep against that table. This should be easy to do.

I understand the 90 second timebank for when you really need to think but the 30 seconds for every single decision is really unnecessary. Wasnt it like five seconds before? why would anyone need that much time when they have a 90 second timebank? Ugh.
This.

This one snippet describes my thoughts exactly on their entire programming methods. So many things are done in a black/white manner with no logic behind it, it drives me crazy. I really hope some day we find out that Bodog hires entry level programmers for $50k/year or some crap which will explain why their software is so bad.

I realize that Bovada does everything they can to cater to the casual player, but I don't understand how this fits into the business model. I would be interested in hearing the logic behind this.

I would also be interested in hearing the logic behind the focus stealing. This is extremely frustrating, and I don't understand how it benefits the casual player. I can barely type this at the same time as playing.

Thanks for listening.

I'll pass it along. Like I've said before, anytime you have an issue.. send me some information. A screenshot of the table when it grey's out and says that it is disconnected provides enough information.. esp when combined with a few others sending the same info when they have issues.

For those that may not know how to send me a screen shot

Alt+prtsc button (or fn+alt+prtsc on some computers)
Open up mspaint
paste into mspaint, and save onto your computer (I usually do the desktop)
Open up imgur.com
Upload your image
PM me the image link they provide

Like jam said, calling support will be the quickest way to make sure you get the correct answer.

I actually had a conversation with them about focus stealing. Obviously I don't know what will come of the conversation.. but it has definitely been brought up recently.

If you go in thinking about these types of things assuming that they hire entry level programmers with no real world experience, then the lack of logic in the programming makes sense. It doesn't excuse it by any means, but at least it makes sense. Their code basically says any time the focus should be on the player, pop the table to the front. There's no logic in there that says don't do it if the player folded, so it's just a black/white thing with no other thought behind it.

But if this is the case, why wouldn't they fix it?

Bodog seems to be much better than many sites at fixing bugs and implementing new software features. I would think this could make the list if enough people ask them to change it.

Since I couldn't find any other Bodog affiliate, I finally downloaded Bodog through PokerSource for its $100 gift card reward. My understanding is that the affiliate will get a bonus of whatever my initial deposit is up to ~$1K.

Unlike PartyPoker's horrible LAGGY software, I have not noticed any lags yet with Bodog. My questions are about using a HUD in Bodog. Is it true that the HUD stats will show up for each player (e.g., player001) during the table session? Will the stats be saved by PokerTracker between tables and sessions, meaning that it will be inaccurate for "player001" since it will actually be another player in a different table or session? Are player notes totally useless in Bodog?

For players in Canada, does Bodog have an option for using Canadian dollars instead of a US dollar account, i.e., deposit, play and withdraw all in Canadian dollars?

Wait, what? Bodog has a history of not being able to fix bugs at all. They've completely ignored long-standing bugs while introducing new buggy features, and they've done this for damn near 10 years now. As far as why they wouldn't fix it, my only guess is that they simply can't.

The PT HUD won't work. You can use your free $100 to buy Holdem Indicator, though. Player notes are useless, and the stats only save for each session.

Anyone else having issues with the hand histories?

The Client just freezes on me every time I try to access My account and Hand History tabs.

m an american that relocated to canada to play on pokerstars. I played on bovada when in the usa. I had my acct locked when i played bovada on canada b/c its not allowed. I had contacted bovada many times this and they told me no problem at all. Im told i cannot go into my bovada account until im back in the usa and then i can play and cashout.

Well i know bodog is whats allowed in canada. I read that bodog... its only CAD currency and no USD currency. What is it like that? So every time i deposit and withdraw i will get hit with a currency exchange fee everytime?

I also read bodog doesn't allow moneybooker as a deposit/withdraw option. So what are my options to get money into bodog then? I dont have a debit/credit card. I only have a BMO ATM Card. How can i even deposit bigger amounts into bodog then?

So if i want to deposit 5k into bodog, how would i be able to do it? I read about interac and i read bmo bank allows this but the limit is only 1k for bodog? So if i send 1000 CAD from my bmo account to bodog, i think the only fee is a under 5 dollar fee from my bank? So if i want to cashout, is check pretty much the only option? That and w/u or m/g? I dont like dealing with wu or mg b/c i rather have everything done electronicaaly. Do you do wires?

Another thing is how much money is a person losing everytime they get funds and withdraw from bodog using CA currency. So if i request 3k CAD check from bodog... that would be 3k CAD into my bmo account. But if i want to change that 3k CAD to 3k USD... how much does that cost? I would of course then want that money transferred to my bank of america account.

Still cannot access this Ice.

I try and download hand histories and the whole client freezes. This has been going on for nearly 24 hours.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Try clearing your IE cache and reboot.

I didn't have any issue with it earlier when I tried.. sorry to hear you are having issues. I would suggest taking XaQ's suggestion.. if that doesn't work, perhaps try uninstall/reinstall? After that, I can only suggest calling/emailing support.
10-22-2013 , 12:29 PM
Ok.. so I did this when I first came on, and it was pretty successful in gathering information, so I have decided to do it again. I'm looking for you guys to give me your suggestions about what you want to see. I also want to hear about what bugs you are still experiencing, changes in the client you'd like to see, and anything else you may have in mind. I've skimmed back through the thread to get some things started, but I really would like to hear what you have to say

BUGS
  • Typing in the bet box doesn’t remove number that is already there
  • Default buyin logic (having to set to 101bb for nl/pl instead of 100)
  • If client is logged in for long period, unable to access Account info and last hand info in client

CLIENT SUGGESTIONS
  • A way to refresh the connection without closing/opening the client
  • Pop to front logic
  • More options for graphics
  • Ability to download hh’s more than once in the 7 day download window
  • Option to have hh’s auto-download "available to download" hh’s when logging into the client

MTT SUGGESTION
  • Final table chops
  • Late reg logistics so that late registers don’t end up all on the same table

SNG SUGGESTIONS
  • Randomize seating

CASH GAME SUGGESTIONS
  • Change the 5 minute rule for people that are disconnected at the table
  • Mixed games

OTHER

I am sure I missed some things. If I did, please don't bite my head off.. just add it to the list.
10-22-2013 , 12:32 PM
Somehow I think you're expecting me to be the first to reply to this.
10-22-2013 , 12:36 PM
Do something about how much time people have to act every hand. it's a bit over the top, in reality. Even cutting 5 seconds or something would go huge for stalling on bubbles of tournaments, etc.
