Their cashout terms say you pay 10% on your cashouts. Pretty shady terms and site.

What's so shady about that? They state it clearly how much you will be paying. 10% of winnings (not cashouts btw) is less than 50-100% of winnings you will be paying at a site like stars or tilt.

Shady is the fact its promoted as 'rake free site' - most people are going to create accounts having no idea there is 10% on winnings (yes not cashouts, but for winning players its the same).

and its cheap. to get a rough idea, open holdem manager or pt, and do:
(total winnings + rake)*0.9
compare the result to your actual winnings. note that additionally deposits are deducted from winnings on betraiser, which i didnt account for.

yeh well its clearly stated in their t&c which you should usually read before making significant financial decisions. no site has anything about rake in their banner, or in fat print on top of their homepage.
thinking about it, having a slogan like "download for free, deposit & play today" is much more deceptive, even if its technically true, as is betraisers "no rake".

and even with rakeback its not even close, at least not for most people and not on the biggest sites. also there are other benefits, like fish going busto more slowly, less volatility due to higher winrates and probably a ton more.

1. uh. why would a site state rake conditions in their banners when every site has a rake in this business. this site claims to be rake free which seem like 'commision free' which is not true.

2. no its not up to people on some internet forum to sign there-u can, but its not going to matter. its up to the site to promote and bring traffic,which mostly mean fish-that in turn will bring pro players. wpex is around for years and has no traffic. this is same idea. and doint forget bringing fish isnt +ev proposition for them cos fish dont cashout winnings. so they would be spending money on promos and gettin nothing back.

the one concern i have is: what are the options for cashout method for usa players? i dont see "check" there. i would deposit via mastercard; how would i get a cashout? i went to the site to check it out, and i will deposit soon if i can figure out this cashout situation.

it's not that people don't support the idea.

in the years i have been at 2+2 there have been at least 4-5 zero rake type sites pounded down our throats. in the end the sites were gone and in some cases the money.

it's simply about market share. 2+2ers don't/won't play each other all day and the recreational players will never play the sites because they have never heard of it.

so, the people that are the most savvy to rake and its affect on the game are the ones that populate these sites when they start. they also try to spread the word through forums like this. the average 2+2er (me + 95% of the forum), that can kill a fish but understand that top level sharks will always be at the surface will never make a deposit there.

Well, there are some interesting promotions that they have going on at BetRaiser. There are some 50 Euro freerolls and some 10 Euro added winner-takes-all SNGs. I think these promotions are attracting some fish, because I doubt sharks are playing the freerolls in order to gain .25 or whatever of EV. Since the currency used is Euros, I think their fish might be fishier than normal fish, since Euro-fish are a tasty treat. I was playing one of the 10 Euro added SNGs and everyone around the table was saying what country they were from, and I was the only one from US.
