Hi Kanaxis,
We are disappointed to read your post given that we explained everything to you on Skype.
Contrary to what you say, we have
not refused to pay you any rakeback at all.
We have never paid anyone any rakeback at Unibet so it would be difficult for us to “refuse” to pay it to you specifically!
Unibet have always had their own VIP programme. It’s not one of the best in the industry as it is made up of cash, tickets etc. They say it pays up to 65% a quarter but of course anyone would need to play a ton their to reach those levels.
Instead we have spent many years subsidising players with exclusive rake races and rake chases. Our indirect way of paying “additional rakeback”.
We have been running exclusive (only to RTR) races at Unibet since 2008 (possibly earlier but i cant find the sheets!) and continued to do so until October 2021
At that point (some 2 ½ years after you signed up with us) Unibet put a stop to the private rake races and introduced a $35k race split between certain affiliates.
In the last 8 months Unibet have made severe changes to the way they calculate affiliate revenue. This is because they are deducting everything possible promotion wise from commissions. We have been questioning the maths with them since they started doing this and those discussions are still ongoing.
These drastic changes that mean affiliates now get between 2-4% of gross rake in any month. I am confident, that if asked, other affiliates will back us up regards these changes. It may fluctuate slightly here and there but after all costs and taxes this leaves very little for affiliates to give back in extra/secret rakeback to players.
So this isn’t personal against you. It’s just the nature of the industry today compared to when you signed up 4 years ago. Back then we were able to give away lots of our commission. And as any of the RTR regs here would vouch, we have never been tight when it comes to giving back to our members. It’s just not the way we have ever been since we started in 2004.
And when you signed up we offered the "extra" rakeback in good faith and you had 30 months of extra earnings.
We are continuing, alongside other affiliates, to press Unibet for a review to their commission calculations and if things change, then we will endeavour to share more with our players. It is possible that another affiliate is paying 15% of the "net revenue" back to players. It is very easy to put big percentages out there relative to "net revenue" but when you compare those percentages as percentage of actual rake, it's a significantly different picture and that 15% can easily be a fractional amount of the actual rake.
So again, I am sorry that you felt the need to threaten us on Slype to post here, but it is not by choice that we are unable to give you anything “extra”.
Kind regards
RTR
