Thx for the suggestion, I will give it a try. I didn't bother researching it when it happened. I just got mad, unplugged it, and plugged in my revo's.

U can also try to contact Logitech and get a RMA if still under warranty

I don't like trackballs but now understand esp if u tile bc it takes a lot of hand motion (prev hadn't realized).

Using Xbox controller with Table Tamer and loving it atm

Hey guys,

I'm kinda sick of the mouse I'm using now, and was looking to buy a trackball. It looks like the Logitech ones are the hottest here, but has anyone tried trackballs from Kensington or other companies as well? I'd love to hear how they fit for grinding purposes.

Thanks,

- mela

Have you tried a trackball?

I switched over when my wrist started hurting and it relieved the pain for good.

Have you tried exercising - running and lifting?

Do you even lift?

does anybody have any suggestions on what one can use to multi table instead of the standard mouse. Cramping starts to set in after a few hours. I think I will have severe arthritis by the time I'm 40 now.

Logitech Trackball m570

Some mass multitablers also use programmable gaming pads, like this:

All that's missing is a cup holder and perhaps a bathroom apparatus.

I use an Xbox360 controller to play 6 to 8 Zoom tables. A small program called Xpadder can be used to link it to keys. I still use a mouse for normal web surfing.

The main issue with a traditional mouse is the bones in your hand and arm are in an unnatural position. They need to remain in a neutral handshake position to reduce pain and inflammation (as I understand it). It's obviously exacerbated when your job requires you to vigorously use a mouse throughout your entire work week.

What you need is a vertical, ergonomic mouse. I was a full-time grinder, multi-tabling heads up and the pain in my forearm/hand/wrist became unbearable. After research I forked over the money to buy an Evoluent mouse.

I can confidently tell you that I have zero pain anymore. I've since bought one for every PC in the house and will continue using them long after I'm done with poker (rarely play anymore anyways). It will take a day or two to get used to the feel of it, but once you do you'll wish you traded in your crappy mouse for a more ergonomic (vertical) one a lot sooner.

Here is the main site for Evoluent. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for better pricing though, such as Ebay.

Hope this information helps.

The anatomical problem described is correct. I use a different solution. I use a regular mouse on my thigh. Firstly as it is lower than a desktop it keeps my neck and shoulder relaxed. Second I keep it towards the outer part of my thigh which changes the angle to be more vertical like an ergonomic mouse. You can adjust the position to get the angle which is most comfortable. I have problems with my ulnar nerve at my elbow, aka funny bone, which makes playing poker using a regular mouse impossible. I have been doing this for years without a problem.

Built better than I expected, but it does take some getting used to. It is easier to use without strapping to your finger and just holding it like a pencil. It does seem to respond regardless of the surface. Used it on an armchair, my jeans, tabletop, etc. I gave up on it though. This would be an occasional use item for me; so I won't have the time to retrain my muscles to the sensitivity and I have accidentally drug items to places they don't belong (trash) when my finger twitched while moving over the item. I can see its use for some though and I may give it another shot at a later date.

Stupid question, but what sort of adapter do you need to buy for your laptop to connect the Xbox controller ?
