Hi. My name on PokerStars is glass100 and I play HUSNGs and Spins.

My PS account was frozen on May 17, 2018. At the same time, I was asked to provide information regarding what I did to improve my gameplay in the past year such as:
  • User IDs of players that taught me or that I studied with
  • Changes in the games that I played and studied, and why I changed them
  • Changes in strategy and playstyle
  • Software, tools, and methods that I use to study
  • Software and tools that I use while playing
  • Whether I use charts or other resources while playing, and if so, to provide copies of them
  • The technical setup I use to access PS

I provided an in-depth response with all the requested information.

I was then asked by PS to provide footage of me playing (with detailed instructions on how to film this), which I promptly did. I did a lot of multitabling, so supposedly this was to prove that I'm not a bot. I didn't receive a response for over a month, so I reached out to ask what the situation was. They said to wait patiently. Another month passed, and I asked again. Same response. Finally, after three months, I was notified that:

Quote:
We have determined that it would be best for PokerStars as well as for other players for you to not be able to play on our site anymore.

With the information we gathered, we were not able to demonstrate that you have without a doubt broken the rules, but we have decided that it would be best to not allow you to play anymore. We can't prove that you broke the rules, so we will not confiscate your money and will allow withdrawals. (*Translation, the original is in Japanese)
I followed up by asking what the specific reason for my ban was since I had not violated any of the terms and conditions. Their response:

Quote:
Through our randomly and regularly implemented security inspections, we have determined that your account is a security risk and have thus banned you from playing on our site. (*Translation, the original is in Japanese)
I understand that players like me are inconvenient for PS due to their changes in rakeback, for example, and it seems that they consider me to have a negative impact on the poker ecosystem, but I'm shocked that PS did what they did.

PokerStars, I demand an explanation for this ban, and if there is no reason for doing so then I demand that my ban be lifted.

Members of the poker community, I ask for your support against this unfair treatment by PS.

You can demand all you like, but they neither have to give you a reason nor lift your ban.

That said, I support your right to protest that and wish you the best of luck.

Assuming they've let you cash out your money as they said they would, I don't think you have much of a leg to stand on here.

They have a right to freedom of association, and if they don't want your business, they're entitled to decline it. You're just going to have to play elsewhere.

Like people has said --> since they will allow you to cash-out your money, there is nothing more you can do. They 100% have the sole right to choose witch customers they want using THEIR systems.

What a hole this place has become. Banned for being good and working on your game.

If they were going to ban you anyway, why waste your time making you do a video.

Pretty shitty.

My main games were $60 and $100 spins, and I won a total of about $20,000 at a rate of about $60/hour. I was playing HUSNGs when I got banned though, and that's what I was told to play when they said to record myself playing. I played $30 HUSNGs against the cartel, so I didn't win much, a total of $500 or so. I multitabled on 4 to 6 tables.

Hi Glass100.

I'd just like to say that you're not the only one. I had exactly the same case like a month ago. Told them many times i'm even ready to go to their headquarters to prove that i'm not cheating, but they keep telling me that my case is closed and if i'm writing to them once more they do not answer me anymore. So sick. Seems like there is nothing to do.

OP's case is that they couldn't conclusively prove anything, and they just made a business decision to not allow him to play there.

So if your case is exactly the same, they wouldn't be accusing you of cheating?

I know right? He jumps through all their hoops given in bad faith that they never intended to honor to begin with, then they tell him there's no evidence of cheating and ban him anyway without explanation? What a load of bullocks. The guy paid them 5k in rake and at least deserves an honest response - so do the rest of us so as not to make the same "mistake".

I mean, the guy was doing ok but it's nothing compared to some of the sht we see on sharkscope leaderboards with some guys making $300k+ playing 1500 satellites in one day, nothing suspicious there, right? (not saying that isn't legitimately possible, just saying. . .damn)

If they don't want to give a response, then just go with the obvious. He showed promise during this time period and threatened to cut into the cartel and their profits.

From Pokerstars regarding Cartels:
"From PokerStars point of view, we don't see this is a problem as long as players are not blocked from playing a tournament when they want to. If players are forced to move down in stakes because they are not able to hold their own against the other regulars, that is not something we are going to concern ourselves with."

But hey, if you do hold your own, you just get shutdown?

And wtf is with all these aspiring shills continually sticking up for these multi-billion dollar poker sites? Maybe if we held their asses to the flame they'd finally cut this sht out, eh? I mean the guy already knows they aren't doing sht about it which is why he's reaching out to this place as a last resort - no need to be redundant in telling him over and over again the same bullsht he already heard from them ad nausem. . .

Maybe it's because you might be Russian given your name? Maybe they don't like Glass because he might be Japanese? Who knows, they won't say anything. Perhaps if you're homosexual you could reach out to the LGBT community which would likely show more support than this fkn place. Maybe you could file a discrimination lawsuit even if it's just to get a fkn answer from these gigantic arseholes.

.

if OP is indeed Russian that could be a reason why he was banned

In my case they also didn't conclusively prove anything.

"The evidence we have collected does not prove a rules breach beyond all reasonable doubt. However, we are uncomfortable enough with the circumstances that we cannot permit you to continue playing on our site. Since we cannot prove a rules breach with enough certainty to merit confiscation, you will be permitted to withdraw your funds."

They haven't said that they are accusing me of cheating but if you start this kind of investigation, then you have some suspicion.

I'm not Russian.

Ok, I just thought your screen name may have been related to the Russian cartoon series.

"The series' most common line is the eponymous "Nu, pogodi!", yelled by the wolf when his plans fail."
