I logged into Carbon today and got that "Account has been suspended for security reasons" message. Emailed support and got the following response:

Quote:
Dear XXXX,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are always here to help you. Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional questions in relation to this or any other matter. Your reference ID for this email is LTK1713406647238X; please quote this number in any further communication on this subject.

Kind regards,

Replied asking when I would receive a refund but have not gotten a response yet. I'm in NJ and had no idea - wish they would have notified me sooner. Anyone get banned because of this?

LOL @ refund. You're not getting your money back seriously. They do random bans without giving a reason yet there are collusion rings that go unpunished.

I had the same thing happen with another of Merge network's sites, Sportsbook. I'm also from NJ, so it was the same issue. I spoke to someone in customer service and they said I would be refunded within 15 business days. Whether or not that happens...well I'll let you know.

Merge probably doesn't really have any say in the matter. Now that online poker is leagal in New Jersey, Merge probably has to worry about repurcussions. Merge stopped offering new accounts to players from Nevada too but I think that current players can still play there. Legalization is a double edged sword.

Oh, sorry to see this. I guess I will be in the same boat. I have a few bucks on there, but have not played much there recently. Let's hope we both/all get our balances. I will update once I try to get it off. Perhaps others will do similarly.

I just played a cash game orbit, and I am in NJ. After reading the OP, I didn't think I would be able to. I guess I'll have to see when I get the hammer.

I left some money there because I was thinking of taking advantage of the Drag The Bar usage. I just emailed them, though; and I was told I was no longer eligible to play although I did a bit this morning. Yeah, though, it would seem just a matter of cashing out now.

I just received an email stating that they initiated a manual withdraw for me which has a processing time of 3 - 8 weeks. Gg, Carbon! That is ok. I had some fun on the site. I hope the rest of you NJ folks are responded to similarly. I will report back when I am paid if I remember in case anyone is interested.

Just logged in this morning to the same "Your account has been suspended..." message. Chatted with live support for a bit to find out that NJ players are no longer accepted. Asked about getting funds back, and was told I will be receiving an E-Mail in the next 24-48 hours. Will reply back in this thread if I actually get this E-Mail.

Hmm! Good plan. No, though, I never deposited. I had money on Hero that I had to move there when it closed.

Don't do a charge back without Carbon's OK though. Otherwise it might be something that might cause a problem for you in the future.

Same boat, got the account is locked message today. I've been in touch with Carbon support through chat and they sent an email asking for ID and address verification for withdrawal. Their site's server times out when trying to submit online so I just emailed the files to them. We'll see what happens...

I got the same message today in DE. I haven't heard back after emailing about cashing out my balance.

Thank you for contacting us.

Regrettably, we no longer offer online gaming services to members in Delaware. This decision was made after much consideration.

Thank you for your business and we hope that in the future we'll be able to resume services in your area.

I wonder if the same is happening in Nevada.

I received the same banned due to being in NJ message and contacted support thru chat. I was told they no longer offer games to players in NJ, I said that is fine, how can I get my money back. The response is quite amazing. I chated with the front line person and was told that my money is to be used as a management fee and would not be returned.....WHAT! I immediately asked for the next level supervisor who was rude and basically told me I was out of luck and my money was in effect gone for the "management fee" I asked him what a management fee entails and he didn't have a response. I then asked him how it felt to steal from people and he then asked if there was anything else he can help me with....YES send me a check! I know one thing if Merge/Carbon ever try to set up shop in this state again they will have allot of people who will not welcome them and oppose any application. I also sent a copy of my chat session to the NJ gaming division for future reference. I hope people get their money back but it sounds like they are going the way of Ultimate Bet and Absolute and in my opinion are common criminals.

This seems strange since Carbon supposedly started a manual withdraw for me once I emailed support. Why don't you email support@carbonpoker.ag ? I don't think it could hurt.

ME TOO!!!! In NJ with all new, very liberal laws. Account suspended.
Also, downloaded their new HUD and got a virus from them - only 2 weeks ago.
"New Laws in some states..." was their reply to my email.
So, naturally I requested a refund/return of my cash balance. Think I will ever see it??
Maybe we should get a class action law suit ready ????

Just as an aside. I tried to join nj.PartyPoker from the Borgota in Atlantic City. Was denied because my IP address was registered as Philadephia. Luckily, I got a Comcast rep on the telephone (live) who plays online poker, and lives in Southern NJ (as I do). Comcast said they will re-direct anyone's IP to a NJ server should they want to prove NJ residency for online poker. If this works, I plan on joining WSOP or 888 New Jersey version's only. Next time someone takes my funds, I can drive to Atlantic City to deal with them in person.
Luckily, I never let my balance get too large at Carbon...but wait until Merge tries anything in New Jersey. I will let my voice be heard again.

You would think these scum bags would put together an email to send out to their customers at the same time they suspended our accounts.
