Not to mention that it was Repubs that stuffed UIGEA down our throats.

I agree and I'd rather be in Vancouver smoking weed on richards street.

Damnit, I wish I saw this thread. I've been trying to deposit on Bovada and Cake the past few days with my TD Bank debit card. Every single time I've been denied. I hope my debit card is not suspended...

TD banks sucks and they are not even American. I hate the U.S. banking system not sure how Canada's banking system is. If it is similar to the U.S. then it sucks.

I tried depositing on Carbon recently with my TD card (also having not seen this thread) and not only was the transaction denied, but TD suspended my debit card. I called them the next day and after talking to their customer service guy everything seemed peachy, card worked again etc., but then a few days later I'm trying to get gas and my card declines. Today I call them up to figure out wtf is going on and the guy cites my Carbon deposit as the reason why it was shut down, but instead of saying Carbon he talks about it being some Chinese website that is connected to online gaming or something. Then he tells me that neither him or his supervisor can open my account and that I need to call back on a weekday or try to go to my branch personally and get it resolved, and he tells me even that probably won't work since the people who can assist my 'special case' don't work on the weekends. So without any cash on me and no way to access my funds for at least two days, I'm essentially busto this weekend. **** you TD Bank.

I know discussing banks publicly isn't kosher on here, but can somebody recommend a bank to me via PM that doesn't have a vilgante stance toward online gaming? This is absurd.

So they can play roulette with their customers' money on Wall st yet they won't allow the same customers to do it with their own money on the net?

never use a bank debit card for online gambling. use any other method imo (like WU or prepaid cards if you can find one that works).

the card gets suspended b/c the bank has to cover their ass by telling you "it's illegal" and won't knowingly process a transaction for what may potentially be an illegal internet gambling site.

I live in Canada. Vanilla Master Card is the only one that actually works.
Visa pre paid gift cards do not.
It even basically says on the back of the card that it will not work on an on line gaming site.

Wow... really? I haven't even tried using my debit card elsewhere since. Furthermore, I just opened the account two weeks ago and only did it for the perks of the student checking account which has no monthly fee or minimum balance. How would I know if it is suspended without trying to use the debit card again? I just checked online and all my funds are still in the checking account and there is nothing that says suspended.

Good luck with that though, I hope everything gets resolved. Keep me updated.

Have you ever tried a green dot Visa or Mastercard? Those are the only ones i see locally. Could you also tell me which ones you tried that don't work? I would appreciate that!

I'm not sure. I tried spending a couple bucks on microsoft points for xbox live to see if it was working, but you could go a convenient store and try to buy a pack of gum for a quarter if you wanted. Not sure of any ways to check without spending money.

Alright cool, thanks for the advice. I'll probably try to buy something very cheap.

Why would anyone even try and deposit with there BANK card. Get a pre-paid VISA card from a PLS or ace cashed WHICHEVER. So you and your bank aren't connected to "online gambling" at all. That is what is best. And it works on merge and the lock(revolution) nerwork. trust me.

I did it because I figured the worst that could happen was my card would be declined. I could care less if my account is connected to online gambling - I am doing nothing illegal.

Because it doesn't involve me taking a Western Union form made out to some random Costa Rican up to the teller in the same grocery store I go to practically every day of the week. I've also had deposits via bankcard work twice within the last month on Carbon with no problem so I'm not sure why I would do anything different. Should note I use a really small, local bank so I'm not even sure how on their radar UIGEA/BF stuff is. Also there is the whole thing that aislephive said about me not doing anything illegal.

Illegality has nothing to do with it. If a bank finds out what you're doing, then they can choose to refuse your business, return your funds, and shut down your account(s).

If you don't mind that hassle, then meh it's whatever on to the next bank, but telling the manager you're not doing anything illegal won't make one iota of difference.

Obviously you wouldn't go to a place where you go regularly to do something shady.

Yea and I didn't even know about all the potential problems with Merge verification and scamming (read that thread after this one) so I guess I won't be doing that anymore. Since I really don't want to send the WU to a foreign country at my local place, I'll just go to a store I don't regularly shop at to fund my poker accts via that method in the future. It sure felt like I was tasting foot after posting in this thread and then reading that other one about all the problems.
