I registered a account over a month ago with coinbase, uploaded ID but still no confirmation or email of ID registration from coinbase.
I've sent and received crypto using btcmarkets to and from offshore sportsbooks with no problems. Last time was college football championship game. Haven't deposited at cardrooms via btcmarkets yet but I wouldn't expect any problems there either. I don't think Australian exchanges are as worried as US based re relationships with gambling sites and there is nothing in btcmarkets T&C's that prohibits WD's to these sites.
That said, of course it is best to take the extra step and go through the intermediate wallet and I'm not recommending anyone else do what I do. Just saying it's been ok so far. These exchanges are a hassle to sign up and get verified for and you don't want to risk losing the account.
The main reason I have been doing exchange direct to sportsbook is because I live on the road (truck driver) and I do everything with an iPad (no computer or hardware wallet), and I just haven't been bothered to work out another way.
