How old do you know?

I've got an ACR account from around 2015 and when I just downloaded the software and tried to log in it said Your account suspended. Please contact the management staff.

Hmm I used to have an account on Black chip poker which is ACR room network, and when I recently checked that account was suspended. It was from about 2015 probably. MY ACR account was about 2016 I think and its been fine, but its been sort of active, I had not used my BCP one for years. So no idea really. Am email might be able to restore it.

I have both ACR and BCP, ACR told me in an email that as they no longer operate in our jurisdiction I’m unable to log in and use their platform. I assume it’s the same for BCP then...

Both accounts have been inactive for years though so maybe that plays a part.

I ended up signing up to ACR using New Zealand Auckland as my location and giving my home address in Australia.. Emailed them told them what I had done senT them my ID and utility bill and they accepted and said its fine for me to play on the site.. That might be the way to do it for people that are keen to play on ACR...

this happened to me once last year, I emailed them and asked if I was allowed to play. They said it must have been an error and immediately suspended my account again

Hi, is anyone playing on GGpoker? I'm currently living in Australia. Originally from Europe. I have an account there but not sure if it would get locked/ lose funds if I deposit and play with or without VPN from Australia. I can access the software even without VPN

I think I would definently get banned from PS for example for doing so.

So far I've only been playing on Ipoker network (while in Australia) with VPN and withdrawals work fine (to eu bank) but there are no games during the daytime, I can only find some at night. So that's why I want to play somewhere else.

Check the site's T&Cs. if playing via a VPN breaks terms & conditions, it's obviously not recommended at all.

There are some sites like Ignition who are still taking Aus players, which all the legality is on them in that situation.

I haven't played online poker for a number of years and since I'm stuck inside during a pandemic, I've been wanting to play for a few weeks.

I realised quickly that online poker in Australia is no longer for the major sites.

So I spent about 3 seconds trying to work out how I can get online and realised my time would be better spent simply asking the degens of 2+2 directly.

So how does a degen like myself play online for real money in Australia?

Hey mate, came across this after prowling for more options myself. These are the two I have found that work for me, but there's pros and cons to each:

1. PPP poker, mobile only. Pros - Mobile app so v portable and good UI, cons: you need to join a club via an agent and trust someone you don't know to hold your money. Basically, clubs have a certain amount of chips and will give you them at an exchange rate of 1-1 - you transfer a club manager bank account to bank account $100, you get $100 in game money. There are horror stories on this one so make sure you know the person. I had some success but blew an entire bankroll as it was easy to play via mobile whenever I was bored. Not good for me.

2. Ignition Poker: Pros - really easy web based interface, payment is via bitcoin, this comes with pros, one month I transferred my monthly bankroll addition to my wallet, did well enough that I tripled my account at Ignition, came back and found about 20% more in my wallet thanks to a shift in bitcoin value. Obviously, this can work the other way. Cons: There are big fees(relatively) in bitcoin transactions, which means you'll lose about 2% of whatever you're transferring each time, depending on the amount.

If you're new to bitcoin, here's an easy workflow:

1. Get BRD wallet (it's the easiest bitcoin wallet out there as far as I know)
2. I buy within the app from my commbank account
3. Create an ignition poker account, I use my location which hasn't seemed to be a problem
4. Deposit via BRD, just scan the QR code on ignition and say how much you want to send from the app. It will pop up in 5-10 mins in your account.

Can anyone recommend a simple BitCoin wallet to use to make a deposit?

I'm having an issue depositing with BRD, keeps saying invalid currency.

Try coinspot or btcmarkerts.

It's recommended that you first transfer to a blockchiain, before you transfer to the site.

Although personally had never had issues transferring directly from coinspot.

I only use BTCmarkets, the cost is 85 bips per transaction but never failed me.

if anyone involved in legislating in federal parliament is lurking, does this solution really seem like its protecting the australian poker player? we're in a situation where anonymous people are sharing unvetted urls among each other to get to a site that will take our cash. was the 2017 decision really worth it? this is a better situation for problem gamblers? get a ****ing clue

not taking a shot at W4RS4W, but this is truly ridiculous. **** xenophon

Hey guys. Well on Pokerscout's review of GGpoker, it now shows Australia as NOT being on the restricted countries list. But it used to be. It was just updated on Nov. 27th, 2020. Plus, I can download the GGpoker client and everything now. Whereas before, I could not even access their site on my browser. So it seems Australians can play on GGpoker now.

Australia is not in the drop down list of countries when you try and sign up...

Yep. Dang. I had installed it after reading the Pokerscout review and it not being on their 'restricted countries' list. But you are correct. When I tried to create an account and join after downloading it, Australia wasn't a choice to choose on their drop down list. Argh! Hopes busted.
