The complaints were about difficulty accessing withdrawals. The sites accept credit cards for deposits but typically direct you to crypto to get withdrawals done...so obviously someone who loves poker but is less well-versed in wallets/exchanges etc is going to get their money onto a site easily then have trouble taking it off and worry that they're getting scammed. This is a by-product of the legislation limiting the options of the sites to transfer winnings rather than any dodginess on their part. Presumably the sites will end up accepting crypto only and/or workarounds will be required.

I second this. I'm with Telstra and I cant load the client on my laptop. I can get into the lobby on my PC but it will not open up any tables. Very strange. I don't what the **** is going on.

If anyone has a workaround please let me know

Also is it against Ignitions TOS to use a VPN? has anyone tried this?

**** me, now telstra doesn't work. I played a full session today with Telstra but over the last hour the block must have come into effect.

I guess instead of messaging people directly (although feel free), I’ll just post in here so all can see:

What’s the verdict on:
- VPN?
- Alternate Ignition/Bovada skins that we can apparently still access?
- Other online poker options that are still active currently?

I'm back in the games with Telstra. It took a bit of repeatedly trying to open but its working now.

However, the client wont load on my laptop. It opens up but remains indefinitely at a black screen. I don't know why... it should work just the same you would think.

I know Ignition changed the webpage URL to end in LV

Yea the black client screen means it's been blocked.

Is your ISP on your PC different to the ISP on your laptop?

Ahh ok. Both devices are connected to the home internet so same ISP. I played off the laptop this morning with no troubles.

I’m with Optus and have been blocked, I’ve left my VPN on before and it’s been fine if it’s set in Australia, I’ve just checked and it works. but I’ve left it on connected to another country eg canada and they have locked my account, and I’ve had to call them to unlock it.

I'm curious... have you cashed out before after using a VPN?

It states in the TOS that anyone using a VPN will forfeit all their funds. I also read that they'll let you keep playing with one until you try and cash out. Then they are alerted to what you're doing. That could be BS, I don't know.

Yeah I’ve cashed out, I went to Europe and played for 3 weeks on a VPN and had no issues cashing out.

Also getting no internet connection on iggy, with Telstra.

Wondering if we should start a Skype group for ways to get around it.

I'm also VIP hosted, not sure if I should reach out to my host.

I'd also suggest if anyone does have work around to not post them publicly In this thread but rather say something along the lines of I have a link that works pm me etc.

Seems like a good time for me to mention that Australian players can play on Bodog88, an ignition/bodog/bov skin aimed at Asia and Australian players.

Anyone been playing on Bodog? I was playing a little last year when I had time, had to withdraw to Crypto which was a bit of a pain but worked fine once I had it all set up. I've been trying to log in the last few days and once I hit log on it just doesn't respond. Have tried both my laptop and my PC. Anyone else experienced this?

When I go to the Bodog home page it redirects to a page saying services not available in your area.

Update your DNS settings and you'll be able to play.

You may need to google 'life hacker DNS'

I can play on my laptop again now to since I updated my settings on that device.

the bodog88 site isnt geo-blocked, it loads fine and then after 5 seconds or so you get a bodog popup saying services are not available in your area. I've never used it was just looking into it as someone had mentioned its targeted for Asia/aus and can get rb there.

as for Ignition im on telstra with their default dns and have still had zero issues, played ever day with week through the regular client.

The good news is ISP's dont actually give a **** about online gambling (and downloading movies, torrents etc) and will only do the bare minimum of what they are required to so if Iggy wants to get around it they shouldn't have much trouble doing so
