Legacy still worked this morning for me with .eu.

The problem with Aurora is that it is a graphics related problem and has nothing to do with CPU and RAM other than it sort of fakes up to 100% CPU when the problem starts, followed by overheating, followed by closing of the laptop. One can prevent it with more cooling (more RPM).

I reproduced the problem by using my NVIDIA as default (instead of my integrated one) and put a Youtube video running; after many minutes, the CPU % started to increase, followed by the temperature increase, followed by the closing of the laptop. Increasing fan speed again eliminated the problem.

Aurora is very exceptional as it manages to do the same with my integrated card, until it somehow uses my NVIDIA without my permission.

FFS they have done it again and forced an upgrade to the dogs hit new software.

Is there anyway to go back again? The layout is horrid, the cards are atrocious, it lags and worst of all halve the time I click the bet button it doesn't even register.

After newest upgrade adding "LegacyPokerTable=1" nor deleting files from ImgCache don't work anymore. :-(

my backup folder is empty.

Not good I have no solution for this but you could try to deinstall, download and then reinstall the software and bypass update-check by starting PokerStars.exe directly to see if it works and which version you will get. Or maybe you have another PC with still the older version of the software installed where you can backup the files.

The PS installation always download newest version. Do you know a site with off-line installation packages?

Highly dont recommend downloading poker client from some other site.

Set this options: In"Table Appearance" Tab "Animation" set AURORA GRAPHICS QUALITY to High and AURORA AMBIENT ANIMATIONS to Enabled.

On low settings it was working terrible on my PC but surprisingly now its working much much faster.

Yeah, sadly, seems like Legacy doesnt work anymore. I have been using it on MAC for quite some time now and after every update I just had to go to the user.ini file and add the line again, then restart. Not this time!

Tried to push the support / vip support to the maximum, but seems like there is not a solution to reverse it now. I, personally, have sent em logs, videos, been working with PokerStars graphics engineers for a long time providing my personal time in order for them to be able to fix it, but without any success.

My iMac is mega powerful but like mentioned above, its just the graphics engine problem. Playing even just a single table the game runs with a little lag. At 4 tables it gets unplayable and as soon as I open 5th table it crushes shortly after. Tried reducing graphics and animation, changed theme, nothing works. The only way I could play more than 2-3 tables at WCOOP is if we find a way to reverse it again.

Please share if you find anything helpful. I will keep trying things and update if any success.

Yeah no way to play with aurora on a mac. Not sure if they feel not enough people have a mac so they dont care or what is going on but its been almost one year now and its still unusable.

Is there a way to know if one is currently using Aurora or not on stars?


The thing is last time i did that legacy = 0 thing in the user setting which someone told me the steps to which would disable aurora.


Also i havent did any stars update in a while.

What should I choose each of these 5 options? So the first one should be change the animation from disabled to full with ko animation?

The thing is last time when someone told me about the legacy trick... after I did that, i notice there wasn't that much lag at the tables... but i only played on stars for a bit so i couldn't tell if im still using aurora or not.


Right now, i have no idea if im using aurora or not... because I did that legacy 0 thing you mentioned.

My Windows laptop is about 16-20C cooler today than ever. Pokerstars Aurora doesn't cause any significant heating, even when I am running Youtube at the same time. I can even run Pokerstars and Youtube with my NVIDIA card and no heating problems.

The fan goes a bit over 5k rpm, so it isn't running any faster than normally, and I am at 71C even with the above loads, when my normal was 88C with significant load, being the optimal temperature for my laptop, or the maximum it tries to keep it at. With NVIDIA + load, or Pokerstars Aurora, they both needed 7k rpm just to stay at 88C, or the laptop closes itself when it goes enough over 90C.

My advice for everybody struggling with performance issues: Check the openGl setting in your user.ini file!

In my case this value was set to 100 => aurora was a mess!
Changed the value to 4 => never seen aurora so smooth.

Can i somwhere buy hyper simple theme and install it on poker stars with this shittty aurora engine=?? iif someone knows .

I keep having this issue since Aurora was forced upon us:



It is not happening always but seems to be rather random. Sometimes the numbers appear in the betbox and everything is working fine, but sometimes it is like this and then if I want to type a bet amount it goes to the chat window instead of bet box. Aynone else having this?

is anyonge still struggling with lag issue? i have opengl set to 0 and auro to high graphic enabled as adviced here. just impossible to play still

No, multitabling in stacked Windows it's no longer possible

Why?

Well I'm not talking about stacked. But do those players who 20+ table and a few I heard that even 30+ table stack? I remember someone mentioned there were few players who 30+ table which i don't even know how that is possible. I could imagine it being possibly easily before aurora though.



But im talking about tile tables... but any more tables just go over each tile table.
So are there players here who could still 20+ table on stars with aurora without issue?



What settings are you suppose to put in the user.ini file with openGI setting?

I play at 20+ tables on the Aurora, all graphics =low and table theme carbon elite, looks terrible, but playable, you get used to 30 fps very quickly.

my guessing pokerstars deliberately wanted to complicate multi-tabling when they added aurora, but I will continue to play even with lag.

How do you play with stacked tables? I have the problem that the window does not flash in orange in the taskbar when it is time to act and it is not possible to play with the option of passing the window with action in front of all, especially with Hotkeys

How in the world do you play with table theme carbon elite? That layout is hard to play and you can't even see the chips.

Do I need to delete that legacypokertable=1? I had typed that in a while back so i could not use aurora but now that is no use so i have to delete it?


Also does that OpenGL thing mentioned by others here work to reduce the lag?
