FTP is going to do something to try and stop us from playing. If they essentially ban shortstacking as we know it (any serious player plays 24 tables), there will be hell to pay. At least, there should be. This is 100% serious, and I demand this thread be left open for intelligent discussion about what should be done.

this is basically the same thing they've been saying about an alternative rakeback plan for a couple years now so I wouldn't worry too much.

Every single move to deal with the problem of shortstacking (should one think it is a problem) has been an empty gesture, completely without any effect. I wouldn't jump off the cliff just yet if I was a FTP shortstacker.

As much as I hate the existence of shortstacking, I completely understand that it can be profitable and that naturally because of that it attracts a number of players. However, I think you might be the first person I've ever seen actually try to make an argument that shortstacking is closer to real poker than buying in full. You are a goofball. And yeah, you are overreacting.

Why not 5,000 BB min tables? That way you won't have "idiots" shoving their aces preflop and coolering the fish who can't fold KK. There would also no longer be quads vs straight flush, set over set, etc.

unrelated point:
If FTP makes it impossible to shortstack, stars will follow, and fish will lose money quicker than ever.

Imagine if they banned 50BB+ tables and made all you fullstackers play 20BB min/max. You would lose your money so fast it's not even funny.

i wouldn't worry too much. I assume they are just going to increase the time. Since players should be allowed to join short, just not recylce(do it multiple times each day).

gder, I have watched your vids since the begining and am a huge fan. That being said, I don't even play on FTP, but I feel like if tilt makes it hard for people to effectively shortstack (either by cutting rakeback or increasing the time before you can sit down with 20BBs), stars will follow suit and the games will dry up very quickly even for good lags like YOU. Shortstackers are like a "tax" on good TAGs and LAGs.

The NL cash game food chain is in perfect balance.

Are you seriously trying to suggest we need shortstackers for the health of the game? I know you probably enjoy it, make some money on it and want to keep doing it but come on. Shortstackers are parasites at the tables and the games would do just fine without them.

Have special shortstack tables that way you donktards can minraise then 3bet shove on eachother all day long while trying to make money via rakeback.

What if they limit the amount of tables you can buyin short with to 2-4?

They are even infesting the PLO SH tables now, it's very annoying.

And I am pretty sure Stars won't do more than adding 50min tables since there are too many SN+SNEs who are shortstackers. (actually abusing the dealt rakeback system)
