Any slow poker sites for beginners? Any slow poker sites for beginners?

Is anyone here aware of on line sites that do not have fast time limits for playing.

The local Casino's in my area, have fairly high stakes for playing (at least for a beginner) and I would expect it to cost a lot of money to learn at these tables. With online poker there is simply insufficient time to consider things like hand ranges etc when only in the early stages of developing these skills.

I'm sure I am not alone in wanting to learn these skills in an online environment.

Are there any sites that take this into consideration and offer much higher time limits to play, where the speed of the game is much more similar to the live environment but with stakes similar to what is available on line. If such a site exists, I would expect there to be less maniacs at the tables as well as the game would be too slow for them.

I know there are automated tables for learning but it is still not the same as playing real people. For example, I discovered one recently that I found if you open big with anything in early position everyone folds. That is not real. If I open big every time from early position it would not take long for a real player to start calling my bluff.

If no learning environment like this exists, perhaps at least one site that sees my post might consider it. I'm sure there are a lot more than me, who would make use of it.

I will add another point to this post. I am aware that such a site would have people using calculators etc before playing, but that is all part of the learning process. Its still an even playing field if everyone has time to use a calculator if they wish. The learning curve would be Calculated Decisions - Decisions Checked by Calculators - Decisions without calculators - Move to faster tables or live games.

If you are looking to learn the game cheaply, try Seals with Clubs. It's a crypto based site that works in both bitcoin and bitcoin cash. 1/2 chip bitcoin cash table are equivalent to about a three cent buyin for 100bb. Won't help with the time issue, but the timebanks are reasonably generous on Seals so you can take a minute or so to think through a hand every now and then. Realistically 95% of your decisions preflop at least should be automatic, even if you just use a preflop cheat sheet.

It is real live. Online is a different game.

Maybe try play money tables? You'll get a looser selection of players because there is nothing to lose, and you can get used to playing with a shorter time bank. Or limit (if online limit exists anyway), then you can do similar, except that with bet sizings being fixed, it removes one key decision (how much to bet/raise) from your thinking process, and additionally makes call/fold decisions easier. Once you're used to thinking at that speed, you can then switch to lower stakes NL (if you must play that game) with the automatic stuff (and, as Kalaea says, most of your decisions pre are automatic) already sorted in your mind
